  1. There's just one problem... true tales from the former, one-time, 7th most powerful person in WWE Brian Gewirtz 258pgs Really fun read, interesting to hear from a non performer (excluding a couple of skits as a waiter), Brian was a "Hollywood writer." first hired in 1999 and over the course of a decade and a half worked his way up to head of creative. Very informative and lots of inside info from one of the most maligned jobs in WWE. Lots of crazy Vince stories (he hates dungerees and unsurprisingly didn't know who Dwayne Wade was ), and lots of stories about working with The Rock, Vince Russo's brief return, Austin's heel turn and walk out due to being pitched losing to Brock, Goldbergs one year (and the wig incident), Katie Vick, The XFL, Vince tearing his quads at the Rumble, working with Roddy Piper, writing Rock v Cena. and the guest host era which became the anonymous GM (including a decent bit about working with Bob Barker) Really interesting look at the creative side of WWE (and some fun thoughts about programs drawing money and the use of comedy in wrestling) from someone who started as a fan and ended up working his way pretty high up into the hierarchy
  2. Leave the singer from Counting Crows out of this
  3. A guy running around in a lion cloth pretending to be tarzan is on the fun indy pile of gimmicks like Luigio Primo and that Angry Vegan MJF wrestled. Jack Perry had more appeal on a national level
  4. According to Brian Gewirtz Vince wrote this and found it hilarious. I believe him
  5. To bring it full circle Bob Barker hosted Truth or Consequences in 1956 (hometown of one Cactus Jack)
  6. I think I'd prefer a woman with Barbra Streisand's nose to one with Hershell Walkers thighs
  7. I look forward to Rampage being the “Jack Perry “ show
  8. So was there no real glass in the BBC v BF parking lot brawl?
  9. A fun yet throwaway Collision. A bit weird that Chuck and Trent are more concerned about Sue's minivan than Fenix getting beat about the head with a crowbar
  10. Unfortunately no, cause I think the ideas of DVDs are dead and buried. Maybe we get a best of like when Brody passed
  11. Are they still doing Hook v Perry? Did the FTW retirement ceremony just disappear into the either?
  12. So damn fitting that he got close to a dollar with out going over
  13. I don't think he was a bad worker (from what I've seen) but I do think that he was such a strong character, that the promo's somewhat over shadowed his in ring. and he never quite seemed to figure out working his character work into the matches shame we'll never get to see if he could put it all together
  14. That Wyatt v Sheild match might be the best US six man ever. I've been watching some of his promo's on youtube and wow. He was something! Way too young
  15. I always So there's this movie called Kissing a Fool which is notable for being Produced and Starring David Schwimmer in 98. Written by one James Frey notable for his fabricated Memoir A million Little Pieces. The Plot involves a man having his best friend trying sleep with his girlfriend. Roger Ebert's review states that "none of the characters behaves at any moment like any human being we have ever met". find myself coming back to that line when people act nonsensically in wrestling like Nick Wayne instantly forgiving AR Fox, this is the stuff that I consider "business exposing" in 2023
  16. a likely 5 hour show and we can't make room for Kris v Emi?
