What happens if Rock doesn't tear his hamstring in college and actually makes it in the NFL? specifically who gets the spot opposite Austin in WM? Does Vince keep the belt on Austin the whole year?

I hope Kingston on commentary is sort of a trial run. I think the second TNT show could be good if the pulled either JR or Schavonie off and used Tazz/Jericho/Kingston as rotating color men

The Coolest Names For Wrestling Moves/Holds

Seven pages and this hasn't been mentioned -
Going back to the time Travel Matches 2008 Bound For Glory Kurt Angle vs Jeff Jarrett. Pretty good match until the Russo booked fuck finish, Jarrett is a pretty good opponent for Angle as he reigns in some of Kurts excesses (he probably would be a good opponent for Kenny Omega as well for this reason). But Kurt was starting to break down and Jeff was somewhat retired. 96-97 Jarrett vs 2002 - 2004 Angle would be great

Hobbs has been standing in the back of Team Tazz while Tazz rambles every week. That's hardly character development, yet here we go with another Shawn Spears reboot. I'm not even really that against the guy, he's just way down the list of people on the roster i'm interested in.

I think a lot of it is AEW has this bloated roster that has people disappearing from their TV show for weeks at a time (how long ago did we see Hobbs wrestle?), yet there's always time for this guy (and Marko Stunt) who people see as a charisma vacuum. Personally I would have no issue with him being the muscle of The Pinnacle but the presence of Wardlow kinda makes him redundant
-
I'd kinda like AEW to have at least a Jack Tunney character as a figure head. just show up and make matches hand out suspensions ect. anything other than another evil boss
-
I kinda dig the idea of a Legends Council used sparingly, I liked how WCW had a mythical "championship committee" that Lee Marshall would talk about as a plot device. I actually wish AEW would make more use of Rankings and Win loss records for guys trying to earn title shots instead of cold matches (or matches set up over silly feuds like WWE does)

The Darby promo about only having three defenses feels like some reads these threads. Also to go back to The Pinnacle vs Four Hoursemen MJF - Flair Wardlow - Arn Anderson (he's the enforcer) Tully - JJ FTR - The Minnesota Wrecking Crew
-
The youtube shows kinda remind me of those old syndicated WWF shows that had Gorrilla and Hennan or Ventura doing commentary over house show matches. I would imagine they serve the same purpose as house shows (except revenue cause its not a house show buisness anymore) give guys work and road test ideas and gimmicks before they end up on dynamite

Wrestling Tropes You Love / Hate

I don't mind when interference furthers a story or works from a character stand point. But it is something that gets over done especailly those late 90's raws and nitros that Russo bucked where every match had a fuck finish or an intentional DQ or a shmooz just seemingly to do it -
At first I thought Hardy Party/ BBB vs Hangman/ Dark Order was gonna be blood and guts until the main event. Really liked this show, felt like a RAW after a Wrestlemania back in the day where its a fresh slate. Also I love how Tony's hatred of MJF borders on Heenan's hatred of Hogan

put me in the camp of AEW needs an editor. Someone to filter out the bad ideas and tell Matt Hardy and Sammy that "no your not going to do that spot". Along with moving some of these seemingly never ending angles, like the Wedding, Team Tazz v Sting / Darby, and The Inner Circle along. Also someone to realize that doing the same tropes whether its outside interference, post match heat segment, or interview segments that get interrupted look bad if you do them over and over again

MARCH 2021 Discussion of Wrestling.
zendragon replied to The Natural's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
You know in the UFC they bring up guys non-martial arts sports background all the time. Matt Mitrone was in the NFL, Brian Stann played college ball, hell they mention Stipe playing college Baseball. So I don't have a problem with it being done in wrestling. I certainly think you can over do it like anything but I feel it just puts guys over as athletes -

HHH vs Owen as well 2000/2001 HHH vs an era Owen would have been great

I really want Jericho to lose a loser leaves AEW match and come back under a hood. Instead of the Midnight Rider he could be the midnight mover -
Tony himself said he had "Big News" yesterday on FFWonline

YOU SCREWED YOURSELF!!!! Re: That memorabilia show wasn't there supposed to be a show similar where they went into the WWE vaults? anything ever happen with that? -
Tay Conti continues to impress, everytime out she looks better, Her, Anna Jay, Britt Baker have tons of upside

Personally I like the realism of guys going for titles, or prestige or money because of the realism of it. As a fan I prefer that to fighting over shampoo or what ever. I've always felt that mid-card titles are kinda like when a MMA fighter wins a belt in a smaller promotion before going to the UFC. it means your on the way up just in wrestling its in the same promotion

totally had the same thought watching NXT. It seems like most of the top guys could compete at CW so whats the point?
