  1. Sorry if this has been brought up previously (I went back a couple pages), but is there a firm release date for Fight Forever yet? Got the kids a Switch for Xmas. My son saw an ad for FF and is stoked!
  2. I can see he and Danielson coming up with some creative finishes in that match. Stuff like taking a DQ in order to get a pinfall or two, stuff like that.
  3. Oh, I'm excited for Mercedes in AEW. I think she'd be an amazing signing on multiple levels. I just think having her debut like this would be underwhelming. Maybe its just because I have no clue what anyone sees in Saraya and I don't think Mone should be associated with her?
  4. Didn’t they try some thing with Malenko where he’d dance and was a “ladies man” or some shit? They had stoic guys in that era, and pretty much gave them all comedy gimmicks at some point or another.
  5. There are a bunch of things that confuse me in this Hayter/Britt vs Saraya feud, but I think it’s pretty clear that last night’s announcement of Storm as her partner was very much a “Oh shit, everyone thinks it’s going to be Mercedes! We need to squash that.” I think she will come to AEW at some point, I just think it won’t be as Saraya’s partner.
  6. There’s a little dude in my house who experienced his first Dusty Finish. Let me tell you he ran through a range of emotions. First, pissed off that the Acclaimed lost, then confused as to why the match was still going on, then excited that Acclaimed were still champs.
  7. I had the opportunity to watch a few flicks over my time off for Xmas. Glass Onion, I thought was a blast. Fun cast, fun story, just fun all around. The Fabelmans was gorgeous. I just loved it. It's like a Rosetta Stone for Speilbergs body of work. I also watched White Noise and Banshees of Inisherin. On watching, I did enjoy both of them quite a lot. They were both the kinds of movies I still need to process a bit before I decide how much I liked them. I'm not as tied to the novel as a lot of people, so I really enjoyed White Noise for what it was. Banshees looked gorgeous and was full of amazing performances. It just has a tone shift that I wasn't quite prepared for. I think it's a movie I'd like more on a second viewing.
  8. I may be wrong, but I believe FTR have done that for a while before title defenses.
  9. Update: Ron Rivera has been told that there is no one by that name on the Commanders roster.
  10. I'd give it thirty minutes max before Cornette tries to slap Janela.
  11. Why aren't you and Raven Mack working tiny southern indies as a tag team? You guys should totally be using a non-existent foreign object on some skinny kid in baggy shiny pants behind the blue jeans-clad ref's back.
  12. From what I've seen, Pillman is NOT a guy that can do much of anything on the fly. The most glaring example is when MJF ran down his family and he hit the ring doing smiley babyface mannerisms. He should have been pissed and out for blood, but he was just sort of there.
  13. More modern wrestlers should concern themselves with the well-being of children crossing the street. Could lead to another boom period!
  14. Lafon played one hell of a heel prick in All Japan. Weird that he goes to the promotion known for stoic guys and really lets loose.
  15. It’s funny that a heel stable disbanding has been so heartwarming.
  16. “We filmed that right after Wrestlemania III and before my time in Metallica. I had torn all of my back muscles slamming Andre and it actually made me taller! I was 7 feet tall and had to get up to 390 so I would’ve look skinny. Anyway, right after we filmed the Thunderlips scene, I got the call that Andre had died as a direct result of my body slam. I couldn’t bear to go on filming, so they had to scrap the rest of my scenes. Originally, I was going to beat Rocky so bad that he couldn’t box anymore. So, Thunderlips would go on to defeat Clubbed Lang and be the world boxing AND wrestling champ. I’d take over the franchise and fight the Russian (played by Dynamite Kid) in the next movie.”
  17. Rocky III was on tv last night. I hadn't seen it in forever. I forgot that they bill Thunderlips as being 7 feet tall and 390 lbs. That's an exaggeration, even for Hogan.
  18. The Illinois/Mizzou game was technically neutral site (St. Louis). They play there every year. It's always a fun game. It was not last night. This is a really frustrating Illinois team. We've looked as good as anyone (vs. Texas and UCLA) and just terrible (Penn St. Mizzou). Underwood has some work to do to get these guys all on the same page.
  19. My favorite Liger is heel Liger. Other than maybe Hashimoto, no one does "asshole from another promotion" better than him.
  20. It's weird how much people feel a need to take sides in stuff like the Punk/Elite beef. Like, I get having a preference in the on-screen work of one side over the other. But, why do I care what's happening between them personally? Oh, I do care in the sense that I like following the gossip, but that's just because I find that shit really entertaining. But I personally have no stake in either side. I like things about both of them when they are on my tv, and dislike things about both of them when they are on my tv, but that's where my relationship with them ends.
  21. Personally, messy people are way more interesting to me (when I don't have to actually deal with them). Punk is messy. That's fun.
  22. Welcome to being rich and white in America!
  23. Phew! What a wild ride that was.
