  1. So, yes. Sabre/Danielson is as good as advertised. I’m not big on long match write ups, but I’ll say that a technical wrestling match, worked mainly on the mat, had my six-year-old living and dying by every little change of momentum. Same kid who asked to fast-forward through the Swerve/Hangman match because it was “boring”. Am I living with a tiny @Matt D?
  2. Well, damn. I was planning on finally getting to Wrestledream this weekend. I guess I need to make that a priority now.
  3. Why do any of you engage with Vile? He’s just going to post the same old shit and react to your response with the laugh emoji. Rinse, repeat. Shit is tired.
  4. Same, but maybe if you're already bringing Casas in for a QT match, you go ahead and run that Danielson match?
  5. Let me see if I have this straight: Mistico (who is facing Romero on Rampage) is the original Mistico from Mexico that we all went nuts for around 2006. He went to WWE as Sin Cara. Dralistico is the guy that became Mistico in Mexico when the original Mistico left for WWE. Hunico is the guy that became Sin Cara in WWE when the original Mistico left WWE to go back to Mexico. I feel like there's a fourth Mistico I'm missing here. Was there one that got the name after Dralistico in Mexico?
  6. Picturing Punk being Ted Knight backstage at AEW is making me laugh.
  7. I don't have any tattoos because my body is a temple and I shant desecrate it. (Shoves second Hostess cupcake into my mouth)
  8. You have a great point there. I went to a Collision and a Smackdown within a couple weeks of each other. Now, I had my son with me at Collision and he had a blast, but it wasn't a kid-heavy crowd at all. He didn't come with me to Smackdown, and it was so full of kids, and they were really into the stuff they saw in the arena. Now, that was the Smackdown after Bray and Funk passed away, so a lot of the show was video packages for them. You could sense the kids getting a bit antsy during those, but they were way into like Cody's entrance and the LA Knight promo (also concur that he's very not for me). Collision had much more action in the arena, while Smackdown had something like four matches in the two hour show. But, just the presentation of everything, from the merch to the lights to the video screens, everything at WWE was geared "younger" for sure. Recently, my son "discovered" some recent WWE stuff on youtube and has been into it. He still likes to watch AEW, but he has more fun mimicking WWE guys like Knight and Cena. I've seen a little lately with him, and I can see how the presentation would be more appealing to him. It's still not my thing, but I definitely see the appeal. I mean, it definitely makes sense for WWE to target kids. A lot of us got hooked when we were young and became customers for life. Personally, I'm still glad there's something like AEW that caters more to my personal taste in what I'd like pro wrestling to look like. But, generally, it's cool that the options even exist right now.
  9. We've seen what happens to Punk in real fights. He wouldn't last one overnight shift at Waffle House.
  10. I don't know about that. The trailer doesn't give "happy family" vibes at all.
  11. Yeah, I think the company needs to release a statement saying it was stupid, we fucked up, we're sorry and then never mention the quarter thing again. No fixing storyline-wise, just drop it.
  12. Yeah, there's a fine line you have to walk when you give your performers more freedom to do their own stuff. I feel like there's a good middle-ground between how Vince ran things and how Tony's running things. I'm not a fan of overly-scripted stuff, but there needs to be an editor there to weed out stuff like the quarter thing that's just better off not to do.
  13. Just based on a few short shots in the trailer, the Freebirds look to be well-cast, too.
  14. I'd settle for Bill Mercer asking one of the boys, "Wouldst thou like to live deliciously?"
  15. I just came off my longest layoff in a while. Nothing wrong with me, I just got lazy. Had zero desire to even attempt a workout. Anyway, started back this week going lighter on the weight and higher on the reps. Holy balls, am I sore after only two days! Oh well, that's what I get. Fun thing is, during my layoff, my son got super into working out. So, I've been showing him some stuff he can do. Mostly body weight or super-light dumbbells. He's stuck with it really well. With my new workout, it's really all stuff he can do, too, so we're working out together. He gets a little bored doing multiple sets of the same thing, and he's waaaay more into upper-body stuff than legs, so I try to give him some freedom to improvise. At this point, I just want to encourage his interest in it while making sure he's doing it safely. Yesterday, he joined me as I was at the end of my workout (he'd been playing outside). I finished up, and he wanted to keep going. He asked if he could play his own music now. I play music on the Amazon Echo in our gym. I said sure, and the first two songs he fired up were "You're the Best" from Karate Kid and "Hearts on Fire" from Rocky IV. Poor kid was born in the wrong decade. He loves his 80's montage songs.
  16. This looks good. It's such a compelling, tragic story as it is, they don't really have to take a ton of dramatic license on it.
  17. It'd be kinda funny if OC decided to re-embrace his laziness and never defended the title unless he absolutely had to.
  18. It always cracks me up that they used Victory, a guy with an extremely recognizable body shape, to be the guy under multiple gimmicks.
  19. Ok, I know I said before I hoped Swerve won that match, but now we're getting Christian/Dragon on free tv, so really there's no losers here. Two of the best minds in wrestling right now are sure to put on something really fun.
  20. I think Swerve going face can work if they do the Stone Cold thing where the character doesn't really change all that much, he just starts doing it against bad guys. Nana's awesome dancing is about to turn his ass face anyway!
  21. I also think Swerve should win. I love Danielson and would love to see what he and Christian could do together, but we can still get that at some point. I just think there's something there story-wise with Nick Wayne being with Christian now and probably still being pissed at Swerve. Hell, it may make Swerve the defacto face and help turn him without having to do it in a big moment.
  22. Surprised this never happened in Chikara. Edit: Oh, goddammit, now I'm sad this never happened. Quack runs a couple shows with a CP Munk-type mascot character, Terry Dunk. It's like some animal in basketball shorts, but he has Funk's striped tights under the shorts and wears a bandana like Terry or something, and a "Dunk-U" t-shirt. After a couple months, the real Funk jumps the mascot and brutally beats the shit out of it. Then, we get a promo where he's pissed that Quackenbush is making fun of him. "Am I a joke to you, Mike Quack-en-bush?!?!?" Just imagining Terry saying "Quackenbush" all drawn out and dripping with disdain has me laughing. Funk totally could've pulled that off.
  23. My wife casually drops a "Oh, I could've gotten us suite tickets for the ND/Louisville game this weekend." today. Instead, we're visiting her family. Free suite tickets, no less. Dammit.
  24. The ref tells the wrestlers when they are in a commercial/PIP/etc.
  25. Agree with all of that, and I still blame "Showstopper" Shawn Michaels for that shit.
