  1. Look at Shawn when he drops to his knees to do his prayer thing on the ramp. He's in so much pain doing that. I think it was said he needs two new knees. He's Rey Mysterio...just not as brittle.
  2. In January there's a stacked Blu Ray/DVD of It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World from Criterion coming out. That one I can't wait to get.
  3. You would think they would bring back the damn Cruiserweight title with all the shows they have. But the WWE has this stupid mindset that lower card matches should not outshine the main event. They bring back the Cruiserweight title and I would give it two or three weeks before all the news reports about "unnamed wwe stars being upset about the cruiserweights stealing their heat". It would be nice though to see a whole bunch of Cruiserweight guys attack Hornswoggle for killing the division and take back the title belt.
  4. Honestly, I'm much more interested in seeing what someone who's not in the business can do with this story. Aren't Kevin's kids wrestling now? I could see family name redemption angle how the kids could break the curse and such.
  5. I still say they should just drop the idea of a channel, and move onto a Netflix style streaming services channel. Since TV in general is moving in that direction anyway. Plus, I'm tired of the small doses of Nitro, and RAW they give you on their On Demand service, and would rather have the entire catalog of episodes at my disposal. A netflix style system would be best. VOD is the future of everything. Hell, The Simpsons just signed a monster 3/4 of a Billion dollar deal with FX to broadcast reruns on FXX and stream every single season on demand on the new FX app. People don't want to watch shows in a time slot. They want to be able to watch everything at once from start to finish. Breaking Bad sure as hell profited from people watching the entire series on Netflix before the final episodes came on.
  6. You're nothing if you don't have the bass drop in the intro. The WWE Network is never going to happen. Vince is too stubborn go about the normal way of getting a low rent cable channel on the air. He thinks the name WWE is up there with NFL and MLB and it should be treated as such. In reality, the WWE network if it did happen would probably be on par with the Reelz channel.
  7. Wouldn't this also help Jeff Hardy if he ever came back to the WWE. He's got 2 strikes as well and the old policy was if you left with two and you ever came back you still had two. Oh yeah I saw this news bit and laughed earlier. From Da Meltz Coming back way too soon and being in a world of pain? File that one under no shit. Seriously though the WWE are idiots if they are having him wrestle every night. Save him for TV and PPV's. If you gotta have him on the tour then have him come out and do an interview or something. He AA's Maddox or someone and the kids are happy.
  8. I don't want to imagine a world where Tenryu isn't being old and grumpy and chopping people. So last night I watched the Dory/Terry funk tag match from All Japan last week. It was a fun little match. I'm amazed that Dory wrestled the vast majority of the match and actually busted out some high spots. At one point in the match he hopped up into the middle of the ring on the top rope to do a hip toss over the top rope on Osamu. Terry to his credit looked like he had an extra pep in his step. He did a DDT on the floor and later in the match he countered a head scissors with a flip to turn it into a leg grapevine on Osamu. But man, I can't believe that match went to a 20 minute draw.
  9. Found an old tape that had a random episode of ECW Hardcore TV from 1998. It was the show from Queens where Paul E. gave this big rah rah speech about the fans saying they finally got on PPV in NYC with Time Warner and Cablevision. Anyway I was looking at the commercials for the home videos and man did ECW charge an arm and a leg for them. Born to be Wired was $29.95 + 3.95 s/h. House Party 98 was $34.95 + 3.95 s/h. I'm trying to remember back then, but were huge prices like that the norm for full show tapes back then? The ECW PPV's were only like what... $19.95 (or $24.95). I just found the prices amusing. At least the t-shirts were more reasonably priced.
  10. Well in the words of Jerry Jarrett, if you're gonna buy something...buy it with someone else's money.
  11. The EC3/Dewey match was great. I thought for a split moment Sting was going to come out and we would end up getting a Mulkeymaina moment with Dewey getting the upset win. i mean I figured that's what Sting was yammering about when he said people weren't paying their dues. I'm all for Grumpy Old Man Sting to return. I liked the Aces & Eights swerve. I can honestly say TNA pulled a fast one on me. It was a forgone conclusion that they were done since Uncle Eric isn't at the shows anymore and he was the only one who kept them around to begin with. Taz stepping up to Bully Ray was great. You have to love Taz. The guy is a fat crippled oompa loompa, but he still manages to get people to be like "oh shit...Taz is gonna fuck him up" based on his persona that hasn't been seen in 15 years. So I guess the Aces & Eights live to see another week or two. Good for them.
  12. Kurt Angle as the coach would be great. THATS NOT REAL RASSLIN!!! Rebrand Manik as El Pollo Loco and I could see ODB doing the abortion angle.. Seriously though President Martin Sheen is the best thing I've heard all day. Charlie makes enough to buy two or three companys off that insane 90 episode deal for Anger Management. Worse comes to worse, he brings S.E.X. and the gogo dancers back.
  13. Davidson when he was a Rangers color guy was the ultimate homer for them. But it is amazing how It did sound very much like Heenan saying that.
  14. Stunning Steve Austin was one of my absolute favorite wrestlers back then. The series with Steamboat is just so awesome to watch. It's a real shame they didn't get that blow off match at Halloween Havoc when Steamboat's back went fubar. Lets assume Austin never got fired and stayed with WCW. At the very least he never has the match with Owen and it adds a few more years to his career. I think he would have ultimatley gone to the WWF back then, but we never would have gotten Stone Cold. Stone Cold was only the result of him being screwed over by Uncle Eric. No Fed Ex pink slip = No reason for him to be pissed. Now as for Dustin, he should have been WCW World Champion. Hogan screwed that over when he showed up. Man if Dustin managed to stay in WCW and they turned him heel, I bet Hogan/Dustin would have been a fun feud. "Mah Daddy built this company and you stole mah legacy you orange jerk". Ahhh what could have been.
  15. I found my Best of Starrcade 83-87 double vhs that I bought back in the early 90's and was watching the Midnight's/Warriors scaffold match and Bobby is so awesome during it. My favorite part is when Bobby starts climbing and Cornette begs him "please Bobby, don't go...you'll get killed" and Bobby is like "Nope, I gotta do this". Beautiful Bobby is a man's man.
  16. Can you imagine what it must have been like when those two went out to party after a show? Andre drinking gallons of beer, Dusty calling up Dick Murdoch looking for that dang ol mule.
  17. TNA should have partnered up with the big Indie companies way way way back and just had guys wrestle for companies they had working agreements with. Appear on other guys shows, dvd's, ect. At first they did do that when they had to defend the NWA Title But eventually TNA went with it's us or no one and screwed a lot of guys and gals out of alot of money they could have been making on the Indies. Over time the TNA name could have been built up and they wouldn't of had to worry about breaking into markets. They could have then concentrated on doing big shows in the big cities. Another option would have been for them to stick to historic wrestling area's. I forget who said it here, but a while back they said TNA should have just hit the old Mid Atlantic route. Work a loop between Baltimore, Washington, Charlotte, Raliegh, Columbia, and Atlanta. Maybe hit Cincinatti go as far west as Chicago. But just stick to historic wrestling towns. Of course their biggest problem always has been and always will be promotion. All the times TNA has been around here in NYC or the surrounding area, I have never once heard a radio commercial for a show. WWE manages to get commercials for shows on WFAN. Never anything in the Daily News or NY Post. Most of the time when TNA runs a show the reason it draws so little is cause no one knew they were there. If TNA is sold, who ever buys it needs to overhaul the hell out of it's promotional department. If they want to survive they need to get the damn name out there.
  18. This said it better than I ever could. If the WWE's grand plan is for Byran to win the Rumble (going from number 1 no less) to win at WM, it's not going to work. It's really amazing how the WWE can screw something up when they have something special. They did it to Punk by having him come back way too quick after he won the WWE Title (lets not even get into Nash being thrown into the feud). I mean people want to root for Daniel Bryan. Every time he gets momentum, they do this.
  19. She exchanges sexual favors for Miz's freedom? See, one of the biggest mistakes the WWE made was not pulling the trigger on Miz and Maryse as an on screen couple. The Miz's douchebag factor would have gone up tenfold with her.
  20. TNA needs more Serg. Now that Mickie James is gone, Dixie can go full tilt making him into a Country superstar. Serg doing a cover of "With My Baby Tonight" would be the greatest thing ever.
  21. Watching the 30/30 "Big Shots" about John Spano buying the New York Islanders and I can see something similar happening to TNA That would be hilarious and fitting for TNA. Honestly when I titled the thread, I put up "possible last tna ppv" as a joke, but when you see the pictures fans took from inside the arena during the PPV and how only one side of the building had people on it, it's not hard to believe that TNA could be on it's last legs. Honestly they shouldn't even bother with PPV's. It's a losing business model for them. They would be better suited to get a special Sunday timeslot every three months or so and do their own Clash of the Champions. If they doesn't work they could always do a crossover with Bar Rescue. I would love to see Jon Taffer take a look at TNA's books.
  22. Thinking about Mr. Olympia, I'm really sad they didn't have him pick someone up. Taz as insufferable as he has become would have been hilarious doing the Planet Fitness thing. I LIFT THINGS UP AND PUT THEM DOWN TENAY.
