  1. Backlund selling stools for the Harvard Step Test at almost $100 a pop is brilliant.
  2. I really want to see Hulk Hogan bullshit his way into a main event run. Not so much a World Title, but a main event run. He'll be like Bret Hart. Get the occasional match and never take a bump.
  3. I'm still confused as to how Shockmaster went from guy in a sparkly storm trooper mask to big and bulky...yet loveable construction worker. Okay another what if that just came to my mind. For most of 1998, Shane Douglas was out with a broken arm yet still was ECW World Champion. What if Douglas was stipped of the title and they built it up a World Title Tournament with the winners facing at Heatwave 98. In essance we still get Taz vs. Bam Bam, but instead it's for the ECW World Title. Would it have mattered if Taz won the ECW Championship seven months earlier than he did (he won it in January 99). They could have at least built up that eventual Sabu/Taz third match that was the "unification" between the ECW and FTW Title's as huge World Title match rather than something that seemed run of a the mill even with the angle of Taz trying to break Sabu's neck.
  4. This happened sometime last year. New group took over the NWA and refused to let Adam Pearce and Colt Cabana finish the Seven stages of hell thing they were doing, so Pearce and co. withdrew Championship Wrestling from Hollywood from the the NWA.
  5. Speaking of barbwire spots or just being thrown off the stage in general... Sting wins the NWA World Title after beating Jarrett (in that match where Angle was the special enforcer) and in typical TNA fashion he loses the title a month later to Abyss when he gets disqualified for shoving him off the stage through a barbwire board. They didn't bother to remind people that the title can change hands on a disqualification.
  6. Remember that time Sting and Flair had their last grumpy old man match and everyone thought Flair had a legit heart attack after taking a top rope superplex. I thought TNA was a place where guys got paid insane amounts of money and they didn't have to do anything.
  7. I really want to somehow end up seeing Andre/Baba vs. Crusher/Bruiser. It would be an entire match of headlocks and punches and it would be awesome.
  8. I'm picturing the ring for Brody/Ladd vs. Crusher/Bruiser surrounded by riot police and even then the national guard is still called in.
  9. And that will be worth the price of the WWE Network. So no Orton in an interview in the ring or what ever? I'm guessing there must be some backstage stuff to pad out the show.
  10. That Cena/Cesaro match was awesome. It's a shame Vince thinks time limit draw's are too rasslin cause I think we all could have lived with a 20 minute draw between them. If there wasn't all this Elimination Chamber stuff going on, Cesaro should be in the number one contenders slot for the IC Title. Big E is dead in the water as champion. Maybe Cesaro gets a shot at him at Wrestlemania. I can't imagine Swagger is leaving champion this sunday. Has Randy Orton always been taller than Batista? When Dave was standing behind him, Orton had at least a couple of inches on him. Take away the muscle and Batista has the height of a cruiserweight.
  11. You'd have to go earlier, really. Spider-Man was essentially what ended his career. I forgot about his Bonesaw bit in the movie. He was juiced up to the gills in that.
  12. I'm picturing Kurt exploding on Impact due to the fact his body was loosely held together that night (unlike now where it's just barely held together). Okay here's a new what if. What if in 2004 everything had gone perfectly and Randy Savage was in good health (ie he dropped all the muscle mass he bulked up) and actually had a good run in TNA. Savage and Jarrett feud over the NWA Title. The reports back then were that Savage wanted a quick run as NWA Champion before dropping the title back to Jarrett at the next PPV. In 2005 there was a report about Savage at a Harley Race show and he got a little too involved and blew out his back and that was the official end to his career. Would Savage in good shape had made a difference for TNA or would it have not mattered because of Planet Jarrett at the time.
  13. Anyone can if they pay the $15 grand price tag to the people that run it. That Terry Gordy pic is so awesome. The belt buckle is the best part. It looks like one of those huge Rodeo championship buckles. Terry probably won it after punching a bull.
  14. Tommy is one of my all time favorites. I'm glad that he can enjoy the golden years of his wrestling career with out having to kill himself on every two bit Indy show. As much as I love Ric Flair, it's sad to see what he became over the last ten years. From his body breaking down to all his financial woes. You are right though. It's not an excuse for being a jerk. I should have made a note of that. Just because he's a miserable old coot, it doesn't mean he should be a dick to everyone.
  15. You'd be a bitter old drunk too if you spent $30 million even though you only made $20. Plus three divorces in a span of ten years will make anyone miserable.
  16. The show was pretty good tonight. I concur with the notion that Shield matches that would have been MOTC last year are now just "ehh" today. I almost feel bad for Christian. You can see he's just running through the motions and praying Vince doesn't decide to have someone kill him at EC so they can have his spot in the chamber. It is telling though if Orton loses to everyone but him in the run up to the chamber. Ambrose is so good though. I loved how he dodged the kick and after Sheamus got speared he covers Christian like he just hit the move himself. If The Shield must break up, Ambrose is going to make a killing as this generations Roddy Piper. His victory salsa dance in the crowd was especially hilarious. Zeb was great when he was sucking up to Vickie (she was born here, so for Zeb he wasn't being hypocritical at all). I can almost see Swagger winning the IC Title. Big E as good as he might be, they haven't allowed him to really shine. The guy has an awesome personality as shown on his twitter and instagrams. But they refuse to let him show that on television. The WWE has this weird thing where even if someone can get over on just personality, they'd rather have them stay quiet and bland. Maybe its a creative thing. God forbid rasslers start doing things on their own. Cesaro vs. Orton was a damn good match. The end where he hit that roaring euro uppercut was so amazing. I had never seen him do that before (don't know if he did it alot in his Indy days), but it made me jump up. I mean that move could be his version of Daniel Bryan's running knee. If the Nuetralizer doesn't get them...the fighting spirit uppercut will. Why did they have to unify the damn titles. Antonio would be a lock to win the World Heavyweight Championship
  17. He mentioned a couple other wrestlers who did the same (Michaels), but didn't mention Victoria/Tara. Didn't Stone Cold tell Victoria she could wrestle with just the knee brace so she wouldn't have to get the ACL surgery? It is so Kurt Angle to wrestle with no ACL. That "what, I tear my quad all the time...I did it yesterday" line is becoming painfully true.
  18. I figured it was a title to be defended in west coast promotions. Why it was on mid atlantic I dont know. Its one of my top 5 favorite belts though.
  19. Uncle Milty and the gang have a chair all warmed up for him. Can you imagine the Heaven roasts? I wonder if they are allowed to work blue material up there. It's really sad to see all these greats leaving this world now. I don't know if the world could take if if Mickey Rooney went next.
  20. Get out of my dreams! There's a trailer...well a teaser. Either the film was made and they couldn't find distrubution or it never got beyond some pre-production. And Hogan was the killer...BROTHER. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/929167-tna-news-hulk-hogan-playing-serial-killer-in-new-movie
  21. I would be all for Roman sitting in his study talking to 'Murica about everything that is wrong with them damn kids. I honestly skipped a lot of the show tonight when I realized the dog show was on CNBC. Sheamus/Antonio is a feud that needs to happen post Wrestlemania. Lita going into the HOF is nice. I guess we all can rest our fears of Stacey Kiebler getting a HOF spot. I have the last hour on DVR so I'll watch tomorrow. Judging by my Twitter timeline that women's match must have been fun.
  22. I think it could have happened in TNA had Hogan originally signed with them back when Jarrett did the angle with him in Japan. Foley was *this* close to signing with TNA in 2005 before Vince convinced him to come back. Hogan and Foley would have had some bloody and absurd matches. I'm just picturing Hogan taking a thumbtack bump.
  23. I always get the feeling that for the WWE at least, "stables" are too rasslin for a sports entertainment company like them. All of us who grew up in the 80's had The Four Horsemen, Paul Jones Army, The Russians, The Heenan Family, and so many others. Now when ever we get a stable they are pushed as unbeatable for a while and then made to look mortal. The Shield was something that I think they never really intended to get over like it did. They were just at first these hired goons. But it caught on and they regularly were blowing everyone out of the water. Now we're at a position where the WWE sees Roman Reigns as the next break out star. He's certainly got the look and a move that makes people go DAMN. I like the analogy of them being like The Freebirds. They can split up...but they'll always be there for each other. I don't like the idea of if they have Reigns go solo that someone else will take his spot. I can't imagine someone else stepping into the brawn role and it working like it has for the last year or so.
  24. I'm assuming yes since I'm going to believe that the whole Rock N' Wrestling thing would have still happened based on Capt. Lou doing the video for Cyndi Lauper. We still get Piper interupting the gold record ceremony at MSG. Mr. T jumps the rail and he still gets in Piper's face. I just assumed the T connection was from working with Hogan in Rocky III. Wasn't sure if T would have been involved in the Rock and Wrestling Connection at all if not for Hogan. I figure if Vince still had the deal with Dick Ebersol and NBC, T would have still been there as some cross promotion with The A Team. Of course no episode with Hogan. Piper and Ace would have made great villians on an episode though.
