    2014 G1 Climax

Full card for the final day:
  2. I've updated the list of names a couple of posts above this one. The most notable names are mentioned first. Also, it's worth pointing out that they're doing a storyline deal where Spud has taken it upon himself to invite, basically, a bunch of freaks and geeks to audition for the show. Hence why there's so many names. Spud's claiming he's doing it because he wants to give underdogs (such as himself) a chance while Borash is claiming Spud's only doing it to make himself look good (by trying to load up the new season of Boot Camp with lesser talent). I guess the idea here is that they more or less know who they're picking for the final 12 but want to throw in a bunch of freaks and geeks in the mix to create some car crash TV moments for the auditions part of the show.
  3. I don't think he's on the list. I'll edit him in. EDIT - Added a few more names to the list. It appears TNA (well, Borash) sent out a bunch of confirmation e-mails a few hours ago so that why is a lot of new names are popping up right now.
  4. Updated list of the names who'll be auditioning for the show: Males: Rampage Brown Dave Mastiff Martin Stone Joel Redman El Ligero Grado Noam Dar Kris Travis RJ Singh Sha Samuels Mark Andrews Jack Gallagher Josh Bodom Tiger Ali Cyanide The Babyfaced Pitbull The Unnatural Disasters (Bulk & Karn) The Fabulous Bakewell Boys (Jerry Bakewell & Steakley Bakewell) John Harding Joe Vega Kevin Lloyd Chuck Cyrus Rory Bailey Evan Sarven Hamish Campbell Pyro Matt Fox Sebastian Radclaw Joseph Conners Johnny Rock Bill Duffy Simon Lancaster The Nordic Warrior Richard Parliament Pastor William Eaver Priscilla Jordan Miles Mr. Tank Females: Nikki Storm The Owens Twins (Leah & Kasey Owens) Kay Lee Ray Viper Lana Austin Melanie Price Heather Schofield (a fitness competitor) Skarlett Miss Louise-Jane And again, these are names that are auditioning for the show. It remains to be seen who will make the final cut and end up in the final 12 that will be featured on the show.
  5. ^ They need 12. But mind you, all the names they're announcing so far appear to be for auditions and therefore some of these names might not make the final 12. Meanwhile, some fitness chick by the name of Heather Schofield has been invited to the auditions as well. As far as I can tell she doesn't appear to have any prior wrestling experience, but is certainly easy on the eyes so there's that. https://twitter.com/heatherschof/status/495090058098409472/photo/1
  6. Dave Mastiff announced as well!
  7. No idea but the dude next to him is usually billed at around 5'6" so this photo should give you some idea how tall he is:
  8. Two new names have been announced: Joel Redman (Oliver Grey from NXT) and Tiger Ali.
  9. Jeremy Borash was the main guy behind it. He's running the new one as well.
  10. Noam Dar and Sha Samuels have also been invited. Overall it's a really good mix of talent so far. Shame that the show comes at such a turbulent time for TNA. Also, for what it's worth, the original press release said it's going to be auditions first, then the best 12 people from the auditions get to wrestle on the 'UK finale' (which is being taped on August 16th at York Hall in London) and then the final 6 go to New York to determine the winner there.
  11. Good little promo by Storm adding some extra context to the Sanada/Muta/Storm angle:
  12. Tajiri's working the August 5th, 6th and 7th TV tapings in New York. Nice! This should make for some fun TV.
  13. Nope. Different guys. The New Heavenly Bodies (Vito DeNicci & Chris Nelson) in your link are both retired now. They used to be a prominent team on the Florida indy scene back in the early 2000s. Held the NWA World Tag Team titles a few times. So technically, I guess, Booker's guys would be the New New Heavenly Bodies.
  14. The big UK announcement TNA had been promoting is that they're doing a new season of British Boot Camp. That's the show where several UK wrestlers try to win a TNA contract. Rockstar Spud won the first season. Last time the participants were only 4 and now it's going to be 12. No word on who the wrestlers on the show will be.
  15. Hideki Suzuki vs. Josh Barnett from IGF was also pretty good.
  16. Cool action shot from today's WRESTLE-1 show: TAJIRI misting Rockstar Spud.
  17. Half of the stuff they taped last night aren't part of Destination X. Aries/Lashley is the main event of Destination X. Dixie going through a table is the main event of the following show.
  18. WRESTLE-1's website says the show will start 6:30 pm Japanese time (5:30 am EST / 10:30 am UK time).
  19. TNA just announced at their press conference in New York City that Bound For Glory will be held Sunday October 12 in Tokyo, Japan at Korakuen Hall.
  20. A GFW/NJPW working relationship was just announced during today's NJPW iPPV.
  21. How's this for random. Turns out Rob Feinstein of all people worked as on-air security at last night's show. He was one of the security people telling Gail & Taryn to leave the building.
  22. Six WNC guys, including TAJIRI and AKIRA, are joining the W-1 roster as of July 1st. No word on what this means for WNC as a promotion going forward.
