In 2014, MVP, Lashley, and Kenny King were a trio unit. In 2015, the BDC formed but Lashley turned them down and feuded with them instead. HIs 2016-17 run was his best IMO. Some of my favorite matches included: vs. Drew Galloway (Slammiversary 2016) vs. James Storm (August 2016 iMPACT for all the titles) vs. EC3 (Bound for Glory 2016) series vs. Eddie Edwards (Destination X 2016, July 2016 Impact Steel Cage Rematch, October 2016 Impact x2, January 2017 Impact 30 min Ironman) vs. Matt Sydal (impact Desination X 2017) Promo-wise, I don't think it's online but the press conference leading up to BFG 2016 was top notch character work for him at the time.

Just finished season 6 part 1 and still loving it. Lots of fun moments throughout. Johnny and Chozen as a good cop bad cop duo was great. Chozen leaving midway through felt abrupt. Glad to get one more Mike Barnes episode in too. Love the build to the Sekai Taikai. Crazy swerves for Tory, who was always my favorite.

For what it's worth on the mention of Ricochet, MVP said last month that he originally wanted Ricochet and Cedric in the Hurt Business but was told he could only have one of them, so he chose Cedric because he thought it would help him more. I was a huge fan of Lashley's epic TNA run as champ, so would love to see him back there or in AEW, either one works for me. And always enjoyed MVP in all of his roles.

Catching up on this thread, just wanted to co-sign any Franchise love. One of my all time ECW favs, loved his title reigns especially the last. the Bigelow win, brief rivalry with Rude, the Al Snow wrestlepalooza match, being pissed when Candido turned on him in the end, etc. And a definite agreed on Perfect Strangers entrance theme, all time great. I'd check out any indy still booking the Franchise.

2024 INDY WRESTLING THREAD

Indy tour in full effect! -
Darby/Mortos ruled of course. Hate to see Skye go down, was looking forward to her and Shida. Did like Shida's fired up promo later on, setting up her vs Britt for Dynamite. Always loved their matches together. I liked Deonna/Thunder. Was surprised to see Deonna win again but I can dig a Deonna/Taya alliance. Two of my favorite former knockout champs. Fun trios main event. I thought for sure House of Black was getting involved somewhere but surprisingly nothing. Christian celebrating by holding all three titles himself was hilarious. edit: Forgot to mention, sad that they have changed the Collision theme away from the Elton classic.

TNA Slammiversary 2024 - 7/20/24
DreamBroken replied to DreamBroken's topic in TNA WRESTLING (Though it forever be Impact)
Awesome start to the preshow with a fun fast paced 4 way. Gisele was on fire there. Always love to see Tasha pick up a win. Kushida going all Shinzaki style was cool. Knockouts tag was good stuff, liking Alisha & Masha together a lot. Hammerstone returning and getting beat by Eric Young was unexpected. Matt/JDC was a nice quick hot start to the main card and then the tag titles match was pretty awesome. Didn't expect a title change but cool to see ABC go from losing the titles, a losing streak, teasing a breakup, only to climb back to the top and recapture the titles. Rascalz/NQCC was fun, nice win for the Rascalz reunion. PCO/Francis was a great plunder brawl and moment for PCO in Montreal. Thought Jordynne/Ash turned out really good, lots of neat counter sequences. Loved Jordynne's finishing Doctor Bomb in to Juggernaut Driver combo. Speedball/Ali was awesome. Figured it'd be good but was better than expectations and had some epic near falls. Very well done blowoff to this feud. Wild main event. Disappointed to see Moose lose it here as it didn't feel like it was the time, but he looked awesome here. Also sad to see Maclin of course go down first. Definitely did not expect a mid-match heel turn from Josh Alexander. And did not expect Nemeth to win the championship as it didn't feel like he had quite the momentum for it now, but a cool moment for him nonetheless and a nice feel good ending with all babyface champs. Good show overall Slammiversary full results -

Solid final build to Slammiversary with a chaotic brawl to close. I'm hoping Moose retains rather than ending his run in a six way like this. cool that the Rascalz fully reunite in NXT and TNA, even though it's odd that the Rascalz suddenly turned face right after the feud with Santana and Maclin which temporarily turned Maclin face, then he went back heel and they ended up turning instead. Xia/Alisha was a fun short match and Speedball's quest for the X Title has been enjoyable. Hardyz/System was good, nice return to tag action for the Hardyz. Crazy looking back at last year's Slammiversary how everyone in the Knockouts, World, and X title matches then are no longer in the company.

Lance Archer & The Righteous vs Dalton & the Outrunners went longer than I expected. Cage of Agony get the trios squash for the night. Red Velvet made quick work of Maya World. Aminata with the quickest squash of the night. I feel like Aminata is a great choice for next champ but don't love the idea of it happening in Athena's hometown reaction-wise. Nice to see Shibata back in ROH to wipe out Evil Uno by ref stoppage, didn't realize Shibata had been off ROH since late last year. Solid promo from Shane Taylor about coming for the ROH Championship, I'm down to see that. Awesome main event from Diamante vs Legit Leyla in a Lights Out match. They went all out with thumbtacks, tables, Diamante with a bloody ear. Killer finish with Diamante's 2nd rope Code Red through a table. Surprised they didn't keep that until Death before Dishonor. EDIT - but now they've added a Texas Death rematch! which should rule.

Loved MJF/Ospreay. Thought after the 2nd picture in picture, it was surely going 60 and was shocked by the last second finish and title change. Based off his win last week, I was wondering if this was setting up MJF/Pac at Wembley instead of going right to the Ospreay rematch. Rest of the show flew by quick. Main event and closing were awesome, great brawl to set up Blood & Guts. Darby's arrival was the best. Definitely feels like a hot streak with the last few shows and this one and then coming up on the Arlington Path to All In shows, Blood and Guts next week, Death Before Dishonor, there's a Battle of the Belts in there, new ROH tapings, etc. Looking forward to it all.

W.O.W. - Women of Wrestling (New Incarnation)
DreamBroken replied to RIPPA's topic in FEDS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK
Catching up on the last two weeks. Nice surprise upset win for Tiki to beat Penelope. Lil J/Ice Cold was a fun match between two of my favorite of the lower carders. Animal Instinct continue to rule. Glad we got at least one more Tongas/Miami Sweet Heat match in, they always worked well against each other. Felt like it had been awhile since we got a Miami Sweet Heat tag, always the best. Good debut for the Fierce Sisters, surprised they won so quickly. Rough ending for BK, but I kinda dig how much attention WOW puts on injuries like that with replays and updates, gives an anything can happen vibe to things. Enjoyed the trios tag, a bit surprised to see Top Tier get beaten already. Main event was a weird one with Disciplinarian there in the opening then gone and sent away by the match time. then Samantha Smart as usual never actually getting physical in the match so it was mostly 2 on 1. Never felt like a threat to the champs. -
I think that was mostly a one-off to give her something to do because they were in her hometown on this past week's episode. But yeah she'd be my top pick for a Blood & Guts for sure.

Really loved the Deonna vignette/promo on Rampage, great stuff and character work. Didn't expect to see Crowbar/Devon Storm going off on Twitter about it, claiming they stole his indy gimmick or some such. Takeshita/Tommy B was a real fun opener for Collision. Loved the tombstone sequence and thought Tommy looked great again here as he did vs. Dax last time. Stripping the Bang Bang Gang of the trios titles felt odd/random when they are presumably going to be still wrestling the match to crown the next champions. Roderick vs Mark Briscoe for Death Before Dishonor is a pretty good somewhat last minute main event for that show. Really looking forward to both Deonna/Thunder lumberjack and Skye/Shida on next week's Collision in addition to Mercedes/Nyla on Dynamite could be fantastic. -

Pretty fun show with a lot going on. Loved the cinematic opening scene picking up right where last week's show ended with Kazarian and the Nemeths. Both TNA vs NXT matches were solid. Awesome finish in the X Division 3 way with Speedball coming out on top after Kushida used his own mist to counter Gresham's ink. Some more good buildup to Slammiversary. Looking forward to the System vs the Hardyz next week.
-
Fun quick 3 way opener with Taya vs Marina vs Robyn Renegade. Always enjoy seeing Robyn, her first match on Honor in a few months now. Similarly for Skye Blue, a nice home showcase squash for her. Billie Starkz looked good as usual and Diamante wins her squash the quickest. Athena caught seemingly faking her injury. They announced Roderick Strong vs. Dalton Castle for Collision with the winner facing Mark Briscoe for the ROH title at Death before Dishonor Big Shotty & The Infantry worked well together in trios defeating the Dark Order.

Wild ending, didn't see that coming so suddenly at all. Didn't think any turn would happen until closer to the match, but a great visual that put a hell of a lot of heat on this one already. Hangman/Bryan was epic. A nice surprise to see Bryan win, I thought he had a good chance to win the tournament initially but once Hangman returned, I figured he was a lock. Loved the Jarrett involvement and this was a nice path to lead Hangman back to the Elite for Blood and Guts. The Calgary Stampede Street Fight between Jericho and Joe was fun with a memorable finish. Surprised Ospreay/MJF for the first time is next week instead of Wembley but looks like 250 will be a loaded one. -
superhuman sami sucks.
