  1. Also a nice benefit of garages/apartments is that it's a place to escape other players in free roam. There haven't been any concrete details released about heists, but the consensus is that you will need one of the high-end apartments to be the leader/planner of one, because they have extra rooms/job boards in them. I don't see Rockstar as feeling all that threatened by AC4. I would see them dropping it close to next gen launch to try and keep people interested. I finally finished robbing all of the stores last night. I wanted my last one to go off in a blaze of glory, so I used a Cargobob to grab one of the pursuing cop cars, which I used as a wrecking ball on a police helicopter.
  2. You won't get the money again. Best way to get cash in single player is to do the assassination missions for Lester and put cash in the appropriate stock beforehand.
  3. Yeah after modding my Sabre and a couple of guns, I have pretty much nothing now. I think I was down to a couple hundred bucks before I did a couple of robberies to end the night.
  4. I had a pretty good time with Other M besides the awful cutscenes you can't skip.
  5. I've got mine on my jacket 'cause the shirt logo always gets covered up by body armor. I looked into getting the logo on my car, but for some reason it was a tiny, tiny square. I want my car to look like the General Lee, but with the DVDR crew logo instead of the Confederate flag. The crew colors paint job for the cars is oddly expensive.yeah $25k for a logo is way too much. I don't have any place to put the logo on currently as I am only wearing 70s short shorts, flip flops and a cowboy hat (wanted to switch things up after rocking Heisenberg and Jason Voorhees looks) Finally got to level 25. Celebrated by buying an assault rifle, sniper rifle, sticky bombs, a Sanchez... and a BMX bike. #feelsgoodman
  6. There's a DVDR tag by your name in lobbies. You can also get the logo on shirts.
  7. You can change the settings as to who can get into your personal vehicle. BTW the stimulus "should" be distributed next week: "We know many of you are anxiously waiting for us to show you the GTA$ Stimulus Package money we announced a couple weeks back. As mentioned in that post, we of course want to ensure that game progress loss issues are sufficiently sorted before distributing the GTA$ to everyone. We have a few more tweaks and fixes to make in a new title update that will hit sometime next week and then we will distribute the cash." http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/51636/grand-theft-auto-online-update.html Also a couple of other updates: THE BEACH BUM PACKComing in early November will be the first add-on content update, the Beach Bum Pack which will bring all-new beach themed vehicles and new weaponry that you’ll be able to use in both GTA Online and Story Mode. Plus new customization options for your GTA Online character including new tats, hairstyles and more. We’ll also be adding lots of brand new action-packed Jobs to play with Gang Attacks, Survivals, Last Team Standings, Parachutes, Deathmatches and Races that will have you bloodying up the waters and coastlines of the finest beach resorts across Los Santos and Blaine County.THE CONTENT CREATORWe are also working to bring you the debut of the first part of the GTA Online Content Creator this fall – giving players the ability to craft, publish, rate and play custom-made Deathmatch and Race Jobs. We’ll be keeping our eye open for exceptional ones that we’ll be stamping as ‘Rockstar Verified’ and will be featuring them here at the Newswire and as part of forthcoming GTA Online Social Club Events. Both the Content Creator and the Beach Bum Pack are free.
  8. I have a low stealth stat (1 bar) and I did that same thing on that mission easily. Raising stealth really does next to nothing IMO. Keeping out of the line of sight (as arbitrary as that can be) of enemies is much more important than the noise you make while walking.
  9. I tried golf for the first time in a while last night. Good lord I am terrible at putting. I wouldn't worry about grinding to raise stats too much in single player. They will raise pretty organically through gameplay, especially if you are doing side stuff as you go. Though I do think I got a stat raise boost from buying the special edition. Lung capacity has not been a factor and I am (I think) pretty far in the story. Any time the missions have involved water, you either have a scuba suit or the submarine. Shooting skill - I'm not noticing all that big of a difference between Franklin (who is supposedly a bad shot) and Michael, discounting Michael's ability to slow down time. Once you do a couple of heists, you have access to the good weapons like the carbine rifle and can fully mod them. Most of the enemies are stupid anyway. Just use cover and pop out to plug them. Stealth has been a total non-factor in the game so far, even on the stealth-based missions, because again, the enemies are pretty fucking dumb. Stamina has only come into play when doing the foot races, otherwise you can do the trick of tapping the run button instead of holding it and you can sprint for a while. Almost all of the flying parts of missions you will be using Trevor, who starts out with a fairly full skill bar. Raising the driving skill does help with stuff like spinning out, but not to the extent of San Andreas. If you're driving between missions versus using cabs, it shouldn;t be a problem to raise this. And, yes, the asshole factor has been high the past couple of days. I am so sick of people trying to crash you in races. Yeah it's GTA so some dirty pool is to be expected, it's the people that do shit like drive the wrong way or pile up their cars to block the road that is really infuriating. I tried to do Titan of a Job with a couple of non-crew friends and a couple of randoms. One random was fine, but the other was fucking awful. I'm not sure if he was a griefer or totally incompetent. But of course, he was the one that got the plane, which he proceeded to use to crash into and blow up the cars we were using for cover (and thus us) and then barely managed to get it to take off and circle the airport before he crashed.
  10. It's the Space Docker, which you get for finding all the spaceship parts. You have to get someone to do the dupe trick because it is normally only in single player.
  11. If you play more into Trevor's missions, there is enough meth coming out of northern San Andreas to interest both the Mexican cartel and Chinese Triads. There is also an army base in the area that doesn't protect its' convoys too well. Not to mention both the FIB and IAC wanting a slice of the pie so they will try to pit gangs/dealers against each other. So there is a lot of cash and weaponary flowing around the local meth trade.
  12. I haven't come across that stranger mission, but you do meet up with Ashley and Johnny when you start Trevor's missions. I won't spoil anything, but the fact that they're involved with Trevor means bad things are in store. I haven't done any Epsilon missions with Michael. They emailed Franklin and I did their website bit no missions from that so far. Epsilon blocked Trevor's IP address I got kicked for the first time last night. I was griefing a clan of racists (literally - their clan name is a slur) by making it near impossible for them to finish Down the Drain and then kamikazing them with a plane in free roam. I lost a good deal with money and got bad sport points, but it was worth it.
  13. I live in Sandy Shores so those cars arent around. I did find a sedan that pays out about $9K last night though.
  14. I think iTunes and the like has pretty much killed off these types of sets, because now you can just go and download those one or two songs you liked without having to buy 10 CDs. I liked them back in the day though, I had a few of the metal ones, because there were a ton of bands that had one or two good songs and the rest of their albums were crap. The only commercials of this type I see now are for Kidz Bop, which are incredibly creepy. I always imagine some kiddie toucher listening to the CD is his pedo-van as he cruises around.
  15. Thanks for the video. I never tried using that trailer before. The spawn for the Industrial survial is right outside my new garage, so I tried that solo a couple of times. I could only get to level 2 or 3 though because I can't find a good spot. Any tips? I don't have a rifle at this point, my supressed .50 pistol is pretty deadly at long range and I have the fully modded bullpup shotgun for upclose fire. I just want to try doing it solo for shits & giggles. I came up with a pretty good way of making quick cash. The street outside of my garage has two stores and a Los Santos Customs, so I can rob the stores and sell a car and make $6-8K in a few minutes. It is at least enough to pay for ammo for a session and put a little away towards an apartment. Speaking of which, why can't you get an apartment in one of the towns? I don't want to have to give up my vacation property.
  16. They've been doing that in the SR games for a while. There is a joke about it in SR4.
  17. The whole grindy nature was to be expected, I think. But I am pretty happy of where my character is. I can play for an hour or so before bed and have a good time. I view this as being something I am going to play for a while, so I am in no rush to get everything maxed out. However, I do think the reduction of mission payouts is stupid. Now all anyone wants to do is racing where you can get lots of RP and cash for very little effort. It's broken more things than it solved.
  18. Oh yeah forgot to mention that I would like to cock punch whoever at Rockstar nerfed mission payouts. I got $500 for finishing one last night, which didn't even cover my ammo costs.
  19. I think Boneyard is the easiest survival level. You can hide out in the warehouse and force the enemies to come in one of two entrances. I started doing GTA races last night, which are pretty fun. I scraped up enough to go up to level 20 and buy a 6 car garage. it is shitty that you can't mod or sell any super cars you find on the streets. Though you can still make decent money with regular cars.
  20. It's a decent slice of 70s cheese.http://hkfilm.net/movrevs2/circle.htm
  21. Trevor isn't unlocked yet for the jewelry store heist. You can find Packie while using Franklin though.
  22. It's one of the stranger missions for Trevor. You pick her up from an accident on the freeway outside of Sandy Shores.
  23. You can, but the cops can't see you going into the garage.
  24. The mission level minimum seems to have been just a rumor, thankfully. Apparently the post mission selections have been whittled from 6 to 4 but now they will throw the jobs from Gerald, Simeon, etc into the mix.
