I don't know if that's really a fair comparison though. An animated movie can be about anything. It's sold to a niche audience. A live action film has to appeal to the masses in order to turn a profit.

It's actually pretty magical what Snyder was able to do with Man of Steel. Superman hadn't been that interesting in at least a decade.

I did want to add one thing earlier. For all this talk about Kaepernick...and he is near the bottom of the league in completion percentage as I discussed but he is 9th in yards per attempt. That means he is still getting vertical and he actually has a higher passer rating right now than the "Golden Boy" Andrew Luck.

This is not directed at you but your post made me remember this thought- niners fans as a whole have really put a lot of weight on the idea that they've struggled so much this season because of them missing Crabtree. I get that he's a weapon but it's not like he's in the conversation among the best wide receivers in the league. The fact that there's a possibility that Kap just isn't as good as everyone initially thought isn't something people consider. Kaep has regressed some.. he's been forcing the issue and missing reads, I wouldn't deny that. However, him and Crabtree have chemistry and Crabtree is so much better than the other receivers Kaep has had this season. I like Boldin, he has great hands and is tough to tackle but he cannot get open down field and often times he's been taken away. Vernon Davis is still tremendous but he's missed some time this year. If Crabtree is in 2012 shape it opens up the field. I doubt it makes the offense as explosive as last season because a lot of the option stuff has been taken away but it should be an improvement.

I guess that leads into the next film I want to defend... Bad Boys II. It's a lot of fun. I felt like Will and Martin were able to recapture some of the magic they had in the first movie. There are some dumb bits like the whole accidental E overdose but overall their chemistry is still great and there are a lot of funny moments. Then there's the action and they do not skimp on that at all.. Logic would say that they'd be fired from the force from causing so much damage, basically fucking up half the city but hey do you want the baddies off the streets or not?! Someone described it as GTA: The Movie. I'm cool with that description. Is it as good as the first? No, but I do think it's solid.

Never understood why TNA kept her around so long with her face covered up. Hmm one of those questions where "It's TNA" will suffice.

I believe the Hawks get first crack at this year's Nets pick. I will double check and find confirmation, I remember not being as happy about this poor Nets start as I would have. Basically the Nets are going to be awful for a long time.

Sometime in the near future (probably when the trailer is out) I will create a Transformers thread. I feel really weird about this franchise. It's by far one of my favorite cartoons ever, I had all the toys, etc.. I wanted these to be great and I thought the first one was actually pretty solid. The second film is so fucking terrible though... I remember trying to find ways to defend it and it's almost impossible. With that said, there's a lot of cool shit in these. I feel like somewhere between the three films is a damn good movie. If anything needs a reboot it is this franchise.

Start with his 1999 - .324/47/148. Manny Ramirez put up the same power numbers with more RBIs and I'm not even a big RBI guy. Garciaparra, Alomar and Jeter are all right there in OPS playing tougher positions and Pudge wins the MVP with a better average and playing catcher... It's a great season for Raffy but I wouldn't say it's dominant... look at what these guys were doing in that era.

I want to defend Transformers: Dark of the Moon. They did away with a lot of the shitty and sometimes racist comedy. They also got rid of Megan Fox who is great to look at but added very little to the franchise. I could also see what the fuck was going on in a lot of the action sequences so there is another plus. I'll put it like this, the first hour or so of "build" is weak and the plot is not great but once they get into the final battle it is fucking great. Overall the movie is probably 5/10 but that final battle scene is an easy 9/10 and nearly saves it.

Michael fucking Crabtree is close to returning. Might see action this week. I'm pleased.

I'm just trying to figure out when Raffy was ever a dominant player. The guys I voted for (Thomas, Bonds, Clemens, Maddux, Glavine, Piazza) dominated the sport in the era they played.
