  1. So last year there was a new series of Videogaiden that I'm just getting round to watching, and this happened.
  2. Big yes to Oyaji's suggestion of Strong BJ and Twin Towers, if I were to pick at it I'd say Okabayashi and Ishikawa had the standout performances of those four in the last year. I'd like to nominate my favourite wrestler in the world - Hideki Suzuki, seriously, just watch any match he's been in with the BJW young guys, Nakanoue, that match with Obata in Zero 1 or that amazing match against Hikaru Sato from Hard Hit that nobody seems to have seen.
  3. That second fed still runs and uploads shitloads of wrestling to youtube, I stopped paying attention a while back when Hammer and Sickle stopped appearing.
  4. Twin Towers vs Strong BJ is a story of big beefy bastards knocking lumps out of each other, truly a story as old as time.
  5. I don't suppose anyone on the board can translate this? I'm dying to know if that's his actual ring name.
  6. This was just uploaded the other day, it's lacking a bit in intensity but still a neat little note in the whole Ishikawa in Canada weirdness.
  7. BJW 18/12/16 - Twin Towers vs Suzuki/Nomura. Can also be found on rutube when this youtube channel gets got. Nomura is at that point where he's allowed to kick out of things, which really just means he has to endure more of the crushing violence dished out by the Towers. Suzuki is magical, as ever. Check out his match against Hikaru Sato on the fantastic October Hard Hit show too.
  8. I really wasn't expecting to see Daijiro Matsui on a random OPG show in 2016, wrestling Great Mutiger and doing a fucking handspring back elbow.
  9. Twin Towers & Ryuichi Kawakami vs. Kazumi Kikuta, Takuya Nomura & Yoshihisa Uto is a total blast, the rookies come out swinging and it sets the tone for a fast, hard hitting affair. Hideki Suzuki vs. Yasufumi Nakanoue isn't quite what I was hoping for, but they're probably not done feuding anyway, probably could have done with another few minutes, it's definitely as nasty as I'd hoped and it's a story well told. Daichi Hashimoto, Hideyoshi Kamitani & Ryota Hama vs. Strong BJ & Kazuki Hashimoto is as great as the line up would suggest and ends on a late contender for lariat of the year.
  10. I think both of the Coffeys were rosebuds when they were in Scotland too. Was Joe Hendry one when he was in a pink suit getting menaced by Swagger?
  11. Page 14! I highly recommend everyone seeks out the Big Guns vs Strong BJ match from the big All Japan show the other day. Suwama vs Miyahara main event was decent too. EDIT - https://rutube.ru/video/84e90ed23cb7bc1458c0cae4e70e09d7/?pl_type=user&pl_id=1067514
  12. I haven't thought about UNKLE in years, they were amazing live, but maybe that was just me being on so much ecstasy that I broke two teeth. Anyway, while I'm here, there should be some law compelling T-Love to make more music -
  13. Hey, they've got a web show now - This somehow ties my last two posts together -
  14. Hideki Suzuki continues to bring out the best in whoever he faces - Hideki Suzuki vs. Yusaku Obata More from the Kohei Sato 15th anniversary show - Daisuke Sekimoto vs. Kohei Sato Akebono & Shogun Okamoto vs. James Raideen & Yuji Okabayashi Also kind of notable, Chris Ondov, the young guy in the opening match, wrestles for Zero1 Belarus (still a thing, sadly no sign of Yashka The Gypsy) as "Typical Schoolboy" which might even beat Hooligan Beef and Betty Trash for best wrestling name going.
  15. The final night of the Big Japan tag league was great fun, if you're pressed for time then just watch the Strong BJ vs Twin Towers opener - which is the first semi final - and the main event final. I recommend the whole show though, as you'll get to see Shinobu bouncing off SMOP and Abdullah, clean cut Kazuki Hashimoto (still weirding me out a bit) laying into folk, Nomura and my boy Uto teaming with/trying to impress their big brother Hideki Suzuki. The 8 man tag can be skipped, but it's short enough not to grate really. You know where to find the show.
  16. Dirty Blondes in a cage! Lover Boy Leo brings on the juice within a minute, faces get raked along the cage and a good time is had by me. This is a thing that actually happened.
  17. For what it's worth, I've never had any problems with rutube, and I use it a fair bit. All the stuff he posts there is in the archive though, and a lot more, I've just not figured out how to directly link videos from there. There's a gigantic All Japan archive too.
