  1. "Punk, though, said he had been told that using this saga on television and spinning it into some matches that would undoubtedly draw money won't happen." This is my key takeaway - The Elite are the ones who won't work with Punk, and not the other way around (according to Phil) Such a shame - we could have had Punk/FTR vs. Omega/Bucks tomorrow
  2. Hunter was doing the same thing by carrying Ricky Steamboat's bags in WCW, but then Steamboat abruptly retired
  3. Vince is a failson who was told to get a business degree before being handed the keys to the castle. Tale as old as time.
  4. Bucks don't draw TV ratings - Hangman by himself and Kenny by himself always get good quarters, but Bucks trios matches are ratings poison I used to think if you compared The Radicalz moving from WCW to WWE, Hangman would be the Shane Douglas of the group that gets left behind. But honestly, Omega and Hangman have way more upside for WWE. Although I can't see Kenny making that move without bringing his buddies along.
  5. Default skin doesn't show the name of who's being quoted in quote-bubbles anymore
  6. Backstage Rumor on CM Punk Recording Controversial Interview Ahead of AEW Return Fightful reports that Hangman Page was intentionally brought up in the interview in a way that was in no way confusing from the perspective of a “work-shoot,” and Punk reportedly made it clear during the process that he does not like Hangman Page. Punk also stated that there were spots during their title match at AEW Double or Nothing 2022 where Punk “felt” that Page was “shooting” on him by intentionally chopping him in the face. Now I need to go back to that match and look for shoot chops
  7. Someone suggested Shingo-Hangman last night, and in my head that sounds great
  8. Remember when Hogan went on Howard Stern right around TNA's first Monday Night show in 2010, but then didn't mention TNA at all What if it's Punk talking about comic books for 20 minutes
  9. I wonder if bad blood between AEW and Impact would affect either company's relationship with New Japan So far they've been playing nice
  10. It's a weekly segment RVD's new podcast is pretty good but the host is terrible - anytime Rob Van Dam says "hey remember when I did this?" the host fakes knowing what he's talking about, and then bookends Rob's story with "I kinda remember that now!" (when he clearly doesn't). It's obnoxious.
  11. A certain DVDVR veteran had over 1000 Wikipedia sockpuppet accounts at one point that were all registered years ago "This forum has a reputation"
  12. You just told someone in the WWE thread to use the ignore feature for posts they don't like, but then in this thread you singled out another person for being critical of AEW Maybe follow your own advice and just put Drew on ignore?
  13. We just had a thread regular register a sockpuppet account to put over what is generally considered a terrible match between Chris Jericho and Keith Lee Plenty of derangement on both sides of the coin
  14. AEW Producer BJ Whitmer Arrested AEW producer BJ Whitmer was arrested by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department in Boone County, Kentucky on the evening of June 4. Whitmer is facing charges of strangulation in the first degree and burglary in the second degree. The first-degree strangulation charge applies when one person chokes another and causes injury in the process. The second-degree burglary charge is related to non-residential burglaries. Whitmer was assigned a bond amount of $25,000 and is bound to a Grand Jury. After being in custody, he was released on June 12, 2023, as indicated by the release comments stating “FINAL RELEASE.” BJ Whitmer is widely recognized for his tenure in Ring of Honor, where he held the Tag Team Championship on four occasions. Since 2019, he has been working behind the scenes for AEW in a producer role, receiving credit for his contributions to the Women’s Division from individuals like Anna Jay.
  15. Yeah I'll agree with that, the "so where is (poster name) now, HUH?" tagging is lame
  16. Is this actually happening, or are you exaggerating because critical discussion gives you the sads I don't think anyone's being out of line here
  17. I think Gedo finally letting the Bucks win the IWGP Tag Titles opened the floodgates for juniors to work in the heavyweight division, but that was more because he wanted to sell tickets for the first Long Beach show and have them walking in as champions NJPW traditionally do not let their juniors and heavyweights comingle, but the lines are definitely blurred now - and that can be credited to the NJPW/ROH working relationship when all the ROH main eventers were smaller
