If things wouldn't have changed (Punk) and they were deadset on having Punk/HHH and Orton/Batista, I could see them slightly altering Sheamus' comeback storyline in 2014. Still going after Bryan (and Ziggler) for being "underdogs", but also joining up with the Authority as their Corporate Hitter instead of forming the League of Nations and starting a mini-feud with Bryan, instead of Ziggler, leading into WrestleMania. Or something like that. League of Nations never made sense to me anyway, since Rusev (in kayfabe) put Sheamus on the shelf from November 2013 to March 2014 and Del Rio eliminated Sheamus from the Andre battle royale.

Didn't Bryan say that the plan going into WM30 (if Punk had stayed) would have been another Sheamus/Bryan match? I swear I read that somewhere.

When I first started seeing Zeus pop up in comments/results/etc about All Japan shows, I actually thought this was the Zeus it was referring to. I was briefly disappointed.

As far as singles matches on TV are concerned - in 2018, he's 9-8 so far. If you want to include tag matches, multi-man matches like six man tags, etc - he's 24-21. If you want to get technical, they've both had numerous tag team, multi-person and comedy singles matches since their retirements over a decade ago. That doesn't take away from my original point, though. LayCool coming back to challenge Bayley and Sasha isn't off the table probably.

They're really fucking up that Evolution PPV. 2/4's of the confirmed card were last active in-ring allll the way back in 2006. I fully expect Brie Bella VS. Maryse to happen, and at this point, if you don't think that Bryan/Miz storyline is going to branch off into a story for the two women leading up to this PPV, then I have a bridge to sell you. Liv Morgan is the most entertaining woman on RAW. Fight me.

You’re welcome to have the opinion that it’s not funny, but having the opinion that Joey Ryan’s act doesn’t have a place in wrestling at all is a pretty dumb one. Which is seemingly Cornette’s POV.
