  1. Yeah meanwhile in the same week Enzo is interviewed by TMZ clearly coked out of his mind leaving an LA club mocking his locker room ban and is featured heavily on television every week - it's no wonder people like Corbin & Lio Rush are being brain-dead on social media. I do agree he brought it on himself and the virus spread very quickly, twitter is hell sometimes. I like Lio, he's clearly a suggestive naive kid but I doubt he was intending to be malicious, he'll learn from it. Backlund still being employed is a shock to me.
  2. I suppose if a work colleague of mine lost their job due to no real fault of their own and then a new colleague fired off some corny jokes on social media I'd probably have a pop back at them as well - but pro wrestling is a dumbass business so. I'm disappointed Oney hasn't tweeted to give him Lio yet
  3. Ftr the Being the Elite series on youtube is my favorite wrestling thing to watch. Stripping the BC down to simply being a meme is understating just how over and influential it has become, despite being kinda directionless and overly saturated to an extent.
  4. Whoever booked that main event must have been on some damn strong cocaine but everything worked. I love how the only way to contain Strowman is to keep him constricted in a garbage truck. Like if he didn't look like a damn chump losing to Lesnar he'd be the biggest star in the business by now. Also Angle did as much as he possibly could without actually killing himself so overall it was a success, dug his music hitting and the Angle slams through the tables. Felt like AJ/Finn could have gone another 10 minutes, but I get this isn't a 1 and done thing. Good match that wasn't ruined by 283873 kick outs. Corey calling Booker out on his shit is well worth Booker staying on commentary for the time being also, plus Booker can be hilarious at times. He's a vast improvement on the no personality Otunga.
  5. 2017 has been a bizarre year not only in WWE but in wrestling in general. Triple H donning the trunks (not literally there and then, though that would be funny) and jetting out to Chile to save the South America tour seems relatively normal protocol. Never a dull moment. Doubt we'll see another year like it.
  6. Let's be honest Angle's brain is probably fried, like most attitude era guys. In 2006 he was on deaths door and continued to wrestle for another 10 years, he's a mess. But he has stayed sober and has probably healed up a bunch since not having to take any bumps since earlier this year, so there's that.
  7. Realistically in terms of big names currently under contract Brock could have been forced into the mix but who else? Kurt probably makes the most business sense despite him being held together with glue. He must have quietly passed physicals or Vince completely lost his mind when he found out the Roman news.
  8. They're seriously throwing Kurt Angle into a fucking TLC match on short notice, this company has totally panicked. Was looking forward to the Shield reunion match but it's almost a blessing in disguise that Roman has gone down (hoping whatever he's suffering from isn't life threatening) given they can probably postpone it until Survivor Series now. Have AJ & Balor ever wrestled before?
  9. Post Malone is pretty cool he's a big wrestling nerd and was on Austin's podcast a couple of times.
  10. Could have won it if Kane was more clinical and also should have had a penalty on the challenge on Llorente in the first half. The Premier League is back in Europe.
  11. I can certainly buy that and in the fictional world of pro wrestling technically you could within the parameters be whatever age your character is portrayed to be. That being said pro-wrestling is a odd, bi-polar subculture that often shapeshifts into reality and popular culture and fabricating someones age is kinda weird. Bobby Roode is being touted as a 20 year veteran over on the SD side, he's one of the oldest guys on the roster but he isn't treated as such. It's not like they're shying away from the age thing.
  12. Bray would be better off in like movies or theater or something. He's found his ceiling, he's a special attraction who can talk and does hokey shit that people like to watch. He's like Abyss but not as good of a wrestler. As someone else said he's teflon, he can lose and still be somewhat credible. and Asuka is 2 years younger than Mickie and is being pushed like Goldberg, this company is bi-polar at times
  13. Of course he was, they completely blew it.
  14. The spot where Cena exited the ring and walked up the ramp after reacting to the ''you both suck'' chants was an element of self awareness that you don't really see often in WWE matches, like, they knew the LA crowd would attempt to shit on it and booked the match pretty much perfectly to counteract that. After that it was pretty much your standard Cena/Roman dueling chants and everyone were biting on the near falls at the end. I liked the match, but Cena being goofy was very much engineered. Anyway I'm still annoyed at the Brock/Braun finish so fuck this show.
  15. Every time I get slightly enthusiastic and commit to a change of guard WWE plays safe, I shouldn't bother anymore. They totally Ryback'd Braun tonight x100. Braun is ready, I'm not sure sure who posted it in one of the Raw threads but his rise to the belt charge was as Stone Cold-ish as there has been in a long time, big opportunity missed, lots of cash burnt, they never learn.
  16. I'm hungover as hell and forgot this was tonight but yeah it's refreshing that I can't call either main events, I'm guessing Cena/Reigns ends in some kind of fuck finish and hoping Braun wins.
  17. Mad that a show with all the apparent good they do with Connor's Cure in attempt to pose as a respectable company had a segment like the Jinder one on the same show, shit wasn't even funny either, just appalling out of date toilet trash humor. I'm surprised there hasn't been a media backlash yet.
  18. Was the shameless Alex Riley dig really necessary? What the hell. Cena/Reigns has been a big ugly deuce of a feud, is CM Punk ghostwriting for Jimmy Jacobs? Braun/Brock feels way more important. Really hope they pull the trigger on Braun, the timing is right.
  19. I can see Vince hearing/reading that story and wanting to take another legit hard way headbutt just to piss on everyone's chips, seriously though if that was the case it's a cool stunt and Owens made it look as vicious as possible without actually turning Vince's brain into mush. They definitely got me.
  20. There will be no Kairi slander in this thread. Great match. Kairi is going to be a megastar and now I'm bummed out we'll never get a Kairi/Asuka program in NXT, imagine the visual of Asuka being dethroned by the tiny underdog with the crazy elbow drop. Damn it. If the four from the MYC pictured in the crowd have been signed then they picked the right ones.
  21. I feel Enzo came around in the wrong era, he'd have been as big as anyone in 1999. Road Dogg wasn't the best wrestler and was a bit of a loose cannon but it didn't stop him being one of the biggest acts in the world at that point. I'm probably in the minority but I'm pulling for Enzo to come through this, he's far too talented to be buried into the ground and not have his redemption story.
  22. I should be really pumped for Asuka coming up but it's the tired old cliche of the majority of developmental going to the main roster to die. Nia winning the belt at No Mercy and Asuka debuting the following night to confront her would be the best case scenario.
  23. Enzo fucking up a spot then immediately grabbing a mic midmatch to discredit Miz's wrestling ability was fucking hilarious as well.
  24. modern wrestling t-shirts are usually always bad but I want this
