  1. The color is due to them actually running out of the needed treatment for the pool. If anything according to some athletes they said there's too much chlorine to overcompensate for it. There was a water polo player that said he couldn't even open his eyes properly for the last minute or so. I was in a hot tub that had tons of chlorine and it irritated me to high hell for a couple days. I'm just surprised more haven't complained about it. Then again, diving might not be much of an issue. But for sports like water polo and others that very well can be. They said it'll be back to normal soon enough, so we'll see what happens.
  2. I need to see that trailer again, but holy shit that is insane! Lots of cool stuff going on that I can't wait to see play out.
  3. Well, shit, then why not take a cue from sports and establish trade deadlines? That could have led to some interesting TV on both sides leading up to it.
  4. I'd love to know who the moron is who thought Sami and Cesaro should be on Raw. Sami especially as the spiritual successor to Daniel would have been fantastic. But as it is Cesaro's doing whatever and Sami is already lost in the shuffle. Yes, he had the Rollins match last week but now what? Wait for Finn to win the title so he goes after that? Not the worst thing in the world but there's better options on SD for Sami.
  5. If it's the one I'm thinking of she looked much younger than 16. But even if that's her real age that's still super young. Also, I know the US women's gymnastics team is amazing and they all did a tremendous job. Sweet moment revealing their Final Five name in honor of their coach and I'm really happy for them. But the commentators were unbearable. Lots of quasi propaganda going on and there was no need to hype them up as much as they did. I don't know what would warrant .3 of deductions or a full point. But the way they were going on about it I was tempted to mute the audio.
  6. If you're going the historical context route, it's hard to argue. If one chose Owens over Phelps I wouldn't be mad. I'd like to think if Owens had those medals available he'd have just as much if not more. But as it is, while he kinda sorta lucked into some of the relay medals (like the one tonight) Phelps has tons of skills to back up his merit. Maybe we can say he's the best since Owens? I'd be pleased as punch to consider him as such.
  7. And he grew up in Towson f'n Maryland, 20 minutes from me. Considering there's Phelps and AFAIK four other Marylanders (Ledecky is from Bethesda) killing it in the Olympics, I'm feeling a TON of Maryland pride right now. Take that out of the equation and it's still an outstanding night for Team USA.
  8. Dude, how can you think of the children without this Simpsons gem?
  9. He's been called that for quite some time. He was called that either since his TNA debut or sometime after that.
  10. I don't what's up with him. But if I had time to create these guys in WWE 2K16 I'd do so and have some wild brawls going on. This is a heated feud pro wrestling would love to have. /wrestling bubble
  11. I know of a couple places around here I'd have him try. I'd love to travel with him as he eats tons of food, and the conversations would be something else.
  12. That is such a great, great story. Seeing the highlights I was so happy for the guy. What unexpectedly got to me is the Rafaela Silva's judo win yesterday. Considering the MANY problems Brazil has had, and the infamous stories about the favelas, this was such a great moment for them. It might not bring peace to the country or anything, but this was such a highly emotional moment that you can't help but feel great for her. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetorch/2016/08/08/489236342/brazils-first-gold-medal-in-rio-games-goes-to-hometown-judo-champion And holy crap, seeing Phelps go all Miz girl on Le Clos, tonight is going to be fucking epic. He didn't want to look at him whether they were warming up or even before/after the race. The tension was super thick and made for excellent TV. I can't wait for this race.
  13. Somebody should have told these guys not to stand near each other. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154304651107012&set=a.144050572011.113862.615552011&type=3
  14. It does suck, but thinking about it I wonder if it was the aftermath that led to his firing. Was it the actual video, or him being a proud man maybe he got into a huge argument with some top people there. It'd be fucked up if it was just the video that led to this, but can't rule out other possibilities. Speaking of said video, anybody know if it's up elsewhere that WWE hasn't touched? If I have to a transcript would do.
  15. Yep, same here which sucks. Wish I could stream on computer but it's blocked by firewall. I'm hoping to catch up on some of the cool stuff tonight before Raw.
  16. Plus it's been established that the digital team isn't necessarily on the same page with other areas in WWE. If he was in charge of digital then who would he go to for approval? I heard that Steph has a role in managing that but I doubt he went to her.
  17. I'm confused as to why they'd release him. If they pulled his Facebook video and it led to his release, that just seems awfully stupid. He's been a supremely strong defender of WWE, yet God forbid he has an opinion that differs from what should be said. I wonder if he got the okay to do that video in the first place.
  18. All the times I heard about rugby I never showed interest in it. Watching it now it looks absolutely amazing. I've heard it's more dangerous than football is due to no helmets and all that. But so far I can't see why this couldn't translate well to the US. Worth a shot at least.
  19. Haven't had a chance to see these GlouriousBomb videos. But the fact that these exist make me so damn happy.
  20. Matt deserves a shitton of credit for this. Not only has the story been awesome, but it sounds like he put a ton of thought into this. It's really amazing how he reinvented himself with this. Really fun episode.
  21. Jeez, felt bad for the American to have a lead in cycling for so long only to not even medal. Tough break for her, but it was smart how the three medalists passed her.
  22. Four years ago, with NBC's then-shitty sports app the only way to get events like judo live on my TV was to hook up the laptop to the TV and hope it could handle it (it barely did) Now in 2016 with the Xfinity's X1 system I can watch it live streaming through NBC sports crystal clear. Times like this I realize how truly awesome technology is. This is absolutely delightful!
  23. Agreed, she's quite pretty yet it's hard not to think that. And the timing of Sasha's engagement didn't strike me until that photo. I'm sure it's a coincidence but I got a chuckle out of that.
