  1. If anyone hasn't listen to the Austin podcast with Bryan, they really should, because the humbleness really does shine through there and it just makes you like the guy more. It feels somehow fitting now. I do think the Usos' stock definitely went up. If we had WCW Top Ten Rankings here, they'd definitely be the number one contenders for the title for winning that cage match. I'm just saying.
  2. Not sure what this has to do with Daniel Bryan, except for maybe that it's a better way to describe the last few years than "glass ceiling."
  3. Don't get me wrong, I want Lesnar to beat the shit out of Bryan just to have Bryan coming back again and again with desperate dives and running dropkicks. Also some grappling excellence. Bryan is a much better athlete than Punk. Punk kicks and jiu-jitsu~ are pretty terrible and I thought the armbar reversal on their match was a bit eye rolling, I don't know anyone who shitted on Punk vs Brock tho. A certain Obese Castellian Foodserver. Careful lad, people on here actually think I am Fat, Spanish, and a Waiter. And that your name is Walter.
  4. I don't have easy footage but the Hughes babyface turn in 1992 is very surreal. It was around his glasses breaking into his eyes and JYD helping him out if I remember right.
  5. I think this is part of why people haven't been focused on Bray's role in this. The board is split on whether or not Bray had convinced him at all or if it was a plan.
  6. Eddy is a good example because they tried to turn him heel on Tajiri and the fans just wouldn't have it. I'm trying to think of someone else that really overcame booking like this. That honestly might be the best example.
  7. They could dress up El Torito as Rocket Raccoon. That'd be great. I guess Khali can be Groot.
  8. I thought Flair was going to turn on Cena last week and hook up w HHH and Orton. Evolution Reunion It's a terrible, terrible idea and I am sorry, but part of me kind of does want this to happen, with HHH, Michaels, the Outlaws, Orton, Flair, and a shock turning Batista being Evolution X or something. I just really like factions. You should watch ROH! I'm pretty sure the last ROH show I went to was Night of the Grudges which was all about The Prophecy vs the Group, Also, is it too late to hope that Batista comes in as Drax the Destroyer and thinks that Brodus Clay is Thanos?

  10. I think at this stage people will be happy so long as they get option A, option B, or Option C. Option D is Team Hell No vs Wyatt, Harper, and Rowan, which would make Vic and Gregg happy maybe (especially the latter if it was for the soul of Brie Bella), but no one else. Also, I swear it's sad that I still only remember which one is Brie and which one is Nikki due to what someone posted once. Brie = Bryan, Nikki = (K)Nockers. I'm a terrible person.
  11. Hell, even the sig really does grow on you after a while. Unlike this picture of Killer Karl Krupp which will never grow on you:
  12. See, this is the exact mentality that gives us Nickelback and Pitbull. "We best eat what they feed us and like it." You just keep on consuming there big guy. Independent thought is the enemy.
  13. I'm telling you, Rey/Cesaro/Hogan vs Real Americans (Ryback, Axel, Swagger) for the rights to the song. Gold.
  14. That narrative would have been a hell of a lot better if Bryan had to beat HHH at the December PPV to get a Rumble shot. Actually, what they could still do is have HHH win after coming in at 30 and then do Bryan vs Hunter at the Chamber for the title shot with Punk costing Hunter the match which sets up Punk vs HHH at Mania which is the direction they're going anyway.
  15. This whole angle reminds me of a similar angle in the old WWECW when the new guys were recruiting CM Punk to join them against the Originals. Eventually Punk did, and the crowds just stopped giving a shit about him. So he turned back within about three weeks. That angle didn't work, and this one didn't either. The crowds weren't reacting to any of this. So they rushed to the ending. How is that so puzzling? And if this entire plot was to get Bray alone, why did Bryan have to keep beating the shit out of the Usos? That seemed like kind of a dick move. My belief is that the heel turn was supposed to make the Wyatts stronger (for whatever reason, there has been legit talk of Bray-Cena at WM), but instead the whole thing made Daniel weaker. So they turned him back. I swear at the time, I thought that Punk was just trolling him given how over the top his reactions were.
  16. Uh, A good Hughes match. Ok. we can do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9Dse0fyehU Yes we can. This isn't nearly as good but I love Randy's Captain America outfit. Waltman bumps around the ring for him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OI9jUiuOdYk I will say this. I don't THINK they ever ran a taped Undertaker/Nailz match, though they set it up. That, by default, makes some of the Hughes/Undertaker matches from 93 the second worst of Taker's stuff from the era, second only to the Gonzalez matches. He was doing the slightly changed style with a bit more aerial/quick paced moves but it just wasn't enough. Just painful stuff.
  17. I honestly don't see this as part of a bigger Bryan plan from a character point of view. There were easier ways to do it than wrestling that whole cage match like that. It's like when you have a heel turn in a tag match where one guy is joining the other two and they work the whole match normally first. That's not how it works. You instead have some BS that keeps the other guy in the ring the whole match and do the turn on the hot tag. This was a lot more spur of the moment than that. I think the way we're supposed to read it is that he was legit with the Wyatts and then got fed up and broke free and went back to himself post match.
  18. Oh man, Ambrose going "TAG TAG," and waving Dogg's hand around before putting it on the map and stomping on it was great.
  19. Wait, I will make a caveat that one of those ones on the floor when the mat is pulled up would hurt everything. But one on the general mat? Neck.
  20. Ok, so I was 10 years old and over my friend Joe's house. Joe and I were best friends ever since kindergarten when I was the first kid on the bus and he was the second. Good kid. We had a lot of adventures, like dropping his Bob the Goon action figure out of his second story window. Well for some reason we were left alone there, decide to "try the wrestling at home." I hit him with a pretty badass spinebuster when he charged at me. He wanted to try a pile driver and since it was going to be on his bed, I said sure. It was a soft surface and the pile driver was supposed to hurt the top of the head. What was there to worry about? One stinger and tons of wussy crying later, I had a pretty damn good idea how the pile driver worked. It's the neck and just the neck. That's what takes the impact. Any damage to the head is minimal.
  21. I don't know Phil, the pre-taped follies was the most Clash of the Champions WCW-ish thing about this show. It felt like 1993 all over again. I loved the crazy uncle Jericho bit from his promo. I don't actually remember anything else. AJ had a pretty considerate Queen of FCW run though, so I guess it makes some sense to have her back? I don't know.
