  1. Why did they not give Neidhart a main event push or even a roster spot. They thought Davey Boy still had something to give since it is obvious Vince was not watching WCW. The Davey Boy who left in 97 was not the Davey Boy who came back in 99 and he was quietly pushed down the card. Even trying to give him the Euro belt since he was also a draw in the UK, but his back was shot. Its not like Davey Boy was Bruce Hart and bribed with a main event push.
  2. To be fair that describes executives in any business. I don't think Bischoff thought he was fleecing Turner. I think he made a huge miscalculation in how he set up the budget in WCW, that they would have to make 1998 money to keep the company profitable. But I don't think he was malicious in it. If you look at the history of TBS owning WCW, they were wanting to kill it even when it got high ratings and was cheap to produce. About Kronik in 2001 WWF. Adams did not leave on great terms in late 97. He was angry about Jeff Jarrett burying him on TV as a nobody. This was when Jarrett had not debuted because he viewed his opponents as not being stars. Adams also put up a stink about putting Kane over in a segment during the period Kane was randomly attacking guys. I never understood why that match got so much shit. It wasn't a good match but I would not call it bad. It always looked like Taker and Kane were the problem because they were not selling for Kronik, even for a face in peril segment. Which if Taker was the one fighting for them to come in, doesn't make sense. Maybe it was never true.
  3. And WCW was getting the demographic that advertisers like. young and stupid. There were a lot of executives who hated wrestling, but they are not risking their cushy job, killing a highly successful company. WCW was still getting good ratings in 2000, but Russo had made WCW a pain in the ass and wasted a lot of money. Along with Bischoff creating a budget that was not sustainable gave the suits their chance to kill it. If WCW was still making money, the people at Turner who hate wrestling never get that chance.
  4. That is just plainly not true. Time Warner was firmly in control when they insisted on giving WCW a prime time show on TBS and were all jockeying to take credit for the success. When the merger happened, WCW was bleeding money, so it is no surprise they wanted WCW off the books. If WCW was generating the money it was at its peak there is absolutely no way Kellner gets the okay to cancel the WCW shows. He probably would not have been allowed to broach the idea.
  5. If Hogan was still around, the Kliq never gets power. If WCW was keeping the ratings and profits they had in 97, they are not going to get rid of WCW. AOL was ran by idiots, but they were not so stupid they would sabotage a successful show. WCW was only killed because of people like Russo tweaking corporate's nose constantly. But this scenario requires Bischoff not getting power drunk in late 97 and coasting, then getting desperate in late 98 and constantly rebooting thru 99. ECW's fate was tied into not trying to go national. To be content being a regional promotion and letting talent go instead of matching pay with the WWF and WCW. Montreal likely never happens since Bret never turns heel. There would be nobody you could do the WM 13 match with, since there were no anti heroes getting cheered. Even before Bret turned heel, he was still getting cheered slightly more than Austin. But if Austin is not in the WWF, maybe Bret does not sign a new contract since he really wanted to work with Austin. Steve Austin not going to the WWF changes everything. I don't think the WWF goes anywhere, they had started making money on live events by 97 and Vince proved he could go into survival mode in 93/95. Maybe things would be better today, since without the stock scam and big cash reserves, they would have to make stars.
  6. I got past math with a passing grade using means I'm not very proud of, but hook or crook. That whole semester was bizarre and I lost my mind. By the time it was over I lost a friend or more accurately I found out they were never a friend. It has hurt every relationship I have because I trusted this person completely; so now I really don't trust anyone. We are now in the writing course and I am doing very well. I got a lot of praise for some of the work I have done and its something I am not use to. I am built to handle apathy and hate, praise is completely foreign to me. Suppose I see any praise or kindness as a trap to get me to let my guard down.
  7. What a great series from the Raw match to the triple threat with Khali.
  8. They wish, sixty bucks and action figures, that is where the money is.
  9. There is the idea that Vince set Shutlz up so he could fire him. Vince could not just fire him, since he was close to Hogan. But I don't know how you could fill a show with it. I always found it interesting that Shultz did a job to Antonio Inoki that night. He was completely boxed out of the Hogan/Piper stuff. So there was something up.
  10. It was not til four years ago I figured out what that joke meant.
  11. My all time favorite, though brunette titty lady has her moments.
  12. That was a work to try to make up for the no show. Apparently Joe went too far and Nash slapped him in the back. I think a lot of that perception went too insider fans. A lot of these guys got eyeballs on the show then after awhile, people saw the shows were bad and stayed away. I don't think there is a big enough star to get people to keep people watching a bad show. I think the only magic bullet left is Steve Austin doing a comeback run, since he has not watered his reputation. But that is because he cares about his legacy. Otherwise I am sure he could do some 06 Hulk Hogan bullshit. After that maybe CM Punk? He has not done his reputation any favors. You can Brock and Ronda lost in UFC, but I think we know the difference. I do think he would generate interest and that WWE would ruin it in less than a month. Daniel Bryan went from coming back as a big deal to jobbing the WWE belt to Kofi Kingston in a mid card match. There was a story and I can't remember the particulars. But business had been down in Memphis or WCW and someone asked "What can we do to draw in June?" and they were told "Nothing but if we start working now, we can draw in August."
  13. Yet he is still not public domain.
  14. DDP had some good TV matches. But I don't think he was used as well as he should have been. I thought Nash looked good in TNA mostly. I think he takes more pride in his work than people think. Hall has been worthless since 1999 minus a match or two. Rikishi did not give a shit. I think they could have done a feud with Samoa Joe. Unrelated but that is such a weasel phrase and you are not the only who does it. People will say "Its good, not great." Then just say it is good. A lot of the game review shows do that and it grinds my gears. Hell I catch myself doing it. 1. Nobody was super excited about Moore going to TNA. He had good midcard matches in the X-Division. Basham worked to his push. Also nobody was pining for to get a chance. OVW was hard as hell to find in 03/06. People heard he was good, then they shaved his head and made him a gimp for a Tough Enough winner.
  15. Since when was Shannon Moore bad? Basham was fine in the WWF, he did what they wanted him to do. He was very good in OVW and was part of the lost generation that WWE pissed away. The rest of it is nonsense, nobody is going to stop watching a good promotion. This is like the "Unions would mean every wrestler gets to main event."
  16. I have never bought into the "cast offs" concept. The WWF had their best years using WCW cast offs and WCW did pretty pretty good with a cast off who was crushed by Yokozuna. TNA's problem was always Dixie Carter.
  17. From what I have pieced together, it sounds like Fritz never recovered from his first child dying at seven. Kevin said being the second child, Fritz was abusive toward him while lionizing Kerry and David. That guilt probably lead to him being a poor disciplinarian and the boys becoming what they were as adults, decent guys with serious hang ups. I don't think wrestling killed them as much as fame and money did. Drugs only have two throttlers, money and connections. Which the boys had.
  18. Keep in mind, Kevin saw a side of Fritz that we didn't. Which does not excuse the things he did, but I think he has enough good memories to rationalize.
  19. 11 minutes, I'm two dogs fucking. I think I left a time stamp.
  20. Thinking a man should not joke about molesting kids or commit lewd acts in public is being too serious. I hope you don't live in a school zone.
  21. Don't ever feel bad for caring or trying to help others. I have been in a really bad mood for over a week. I get why I am, but I thought I had found a way to cork up the negativity. Then last few days I have just been going off on everyone, online and real life. It could be because I have serious problems that can't be solved or I am not venting in safe doses.
