Raw is the Two Woman Power Trip - 7/20/2020
Curt McGirt replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in WWE PROGRAMMING
That was quite the overrun, haven't seen something like that since the Monday Night Wars. Right before Steph showed up I was thinking "this is stupid they should just get JJ Dillon or Nick Bockwinkle or Stanley Blackburn or Gorilla Monsoon or Jack Tunney to come out and cut them off" and then there we go. -
I've heard that Hendrix used the same quote Clapton used, only about Rory Gallagher. Personally I'm fine NOT having shredders on the list. We need emotional content, as Bruce Lee once said. If anyone says Yngwie they should be forced to listen to Uli Jon Roth at gunpoint. EDIT: And where the fuck is my brain today? BUCK FUCKING DHARMA. EDIT II: Okay it is silly to say listen to the shredder that influenced the other shredder. If you bring up Yngwie then we force you to listen to Shitlickers at gunpoint.

JULY 2020 WRESTLING DISCUSSION

That just makes me think of the guy standing on the car, blood streaming from his head screaming SLAYER SLAYER over and over on the Live Intervention VHS haha Hey, was it this guy? -
WRESTLING ON THE INTERNET NOT FROM THE NOW
Curt McGirt replied to RIPPA's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
Speaking of the Gypsy Joe we all know, I didn't know he was the ref for the IWA Japan King of the Death Match tourney until I started watching it (for the first time ever completely, actually. Almost finished). EDIT: Well okay not all the matches. Speaking of which, man did Dan Severn have the best match of his career with Goto that night. Real fire from him, plus Goto just kicked the shit out of him too. -
JULY 2020 WRESTLING DISCUSSION

You know, I've only ever had two wrestling shirts (a WWF Attitude shirt that I got shit for in school because I admitted it was bought at Walmart, and a Lucha Underground logo shirt) but my entire wardrobe is made of band t-shirts. Nobody ever says shit about the band t-shirts. Like, EVER. I can't even remember someone even giving me a shout for, say, a Maiden shirt in public my entire life. P.S. For a split second I thought @Peck was wearing a Tinieblas mask in that photo on the last page until I realized it was just a COVID mask haha -
Tony Iommi Tipton/Downing Piggy Robert Fripp Mark Shelton Paul Chain I mean considering my interests it is really hard for me not to just dive into duos. But then there are guitarists who form an entire nucleus of a band, like Greg Ginn or Wino Weinrich or Steve Albini.

ROH Will 2020 be the last Ring of Honor Thread...
Curt McGirt replied to RIPPA's topic in FEDS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK
Well damn, the episode that recorded on my DVR a whopping four times this weekend was a tribute to Hana episode. I'd no idea she even wrestled in ROH. Pretty classy of them. -
Marvel Cinematic Universe - 2020

There was a lot of stuff in the search bar listed after Avengers that were Marvel titles so that's probably what I was thinking of -

That's the only one I remember seeing so maybe that's it. It was late, I was half-conscious and honestly just trying to see if Withnail & I was on there. -

The Takayama/KENTA matches were always my favorites for the same reasons. Shibata also had that whole run against every single big name back when he was starting where he was the disrespectful young punk and it was great seeing him get mauled every time. -

It amuses me that Disney, one of the world's/country's biggest corporations who's relied on the largest amount of the public to generate its income for generations, would rather wall themselves off now that they have the option than try to appeal to that public by widening their base. It's both ass-backwards and totally on-point for how they act. -

Yeah I checked before I crashed and there's a couple MCUs on Netflix but that's it. I dunno, maybe I can hold out hope for Endgame to show up on TNT if the Plus service doesn't ruin it completely. -

Of course it's still up. Yes, the screencap is showing the blood. I miss Daffney, she was a cutie pie. -
You'll want to check out all the stuff I posted on the first page then too. Japanese punk and hardcore is a specialty of mine so if you have any questions or recommendations, ask.

Scoop up Sorry To Bother You ASAP, that was my favorite movie that year. Mandy too (coming from me that's a big 'well duh' haha).

Marvel Cinematic Universe - 2020

Avengers: Infinity War was finally on TNT tonight so I set it up to DVR and caught the ending. Looked really good, especially liked Josh Brolin. I haven't followed the whole Avengers arc (in fact the only one before this I've seen the most of is Age of Ultron, just bits and pieces on TV, and I saw the start of Captain America once. Well I did see Iron Man too so I guess that counts, and Guardians.) Anyway it is just weird to me that this and Endgame have not been on basic cable yet and I haven't even seen them licensed to Showtime or Starz. Is HBO the only provider that's had all these movies so far? Are they on Netflix or Prime, or are they trapped on the new Mouse service? It would be nice to kind of go back and play catch-up since I got all this free time but I'm not trying to set foot in Family Video again. -
That Japanese song sounds like that one pop song that goes "wherever you go I'll follow, I'll follow..." etc. sang by female singers.

Cannot believe these twats would even attempt a MUST GOUGE OUT OPPONENT'S FRICKIN EYE MATCH without letting them blade. Now I can see them doing a First Blood match where they don't even use a capsule and just cut away, saying it's too much to even put in black and white. EDIT: You know what? Crap, IT'S ON PAY PER VIEW!!! They don't have to worry about a goddamn Snickers complaint! Just run it in B&W on TV! What watered-down pablum. -
Haven't posted this yet because I are dumb. Crank this and destroy your hearing. RIP Kawakami, D-Beat Master My personal favorite, from the Disbones era (later period)

That album is fucking KILLER. I got a bootleg discography from I think Brazil from a domestic distro last year. Whoever these people are they've done a lot of killer stuff, Sodom (the Japanese one), Comes, a sick SxOxB/Google Plex split LP, Gai, and they're still pumping stuff out this year. I think the last thing they came out with was a Tozibabe discography (Slovakian all-female band).
