  1. Found this while looking for something else and it's pretty awesome. This is all about Hashi going to the wall in the Dome, getting the crap beat out of him and still trying to stand up to Suzuki and Marufuji who play great heel champs. It's shocking how far NOAH has fallen from this height (even though the wrestling is still good).
  2. This Lana deal is gonna be up there with Ambrose's furry jacket in "things that made someone leave as fast as possible for AEW".
  3. The thrashing Brock gave to Rey and Dominic was great, he tossed them around like bags of garbage. But then they had to drag out the orange goblin and his jock-sniffing buddy with the megaphone -- and an embalmed Ric Flair -- which immediately made me check out. At least Ricochet/Cesaro got five minutes to do their thing. Sick West Coat Pop to end that one.
  4. This popped up in my feed so I thought I'd drop it here. "2 rings were constructed side-by-side, as is tradition for this bout that featured a who's who of wrestling including: "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, Barry Windham, Sabu, CW Anderson, Justin Credible, The Sandman... even Bill Alfonso?!" Now that's a hell of a lineup... EDIT: Watched this, I guess I'd give it a solid C. Nothing too special. Sander was in the entire time which was surprising, I thought he'd be blown up in five but he stays active. CW has good punches, Doc... doesn't. Match-ending submission is the only time I've ever seen said submission win a match.
  5. IIRC Steve Karel was the shadowy money guy who helped Heyman run ECW. He was probably the dude that helped Heyman embezzle the company from Tod Gordon. They brought him up in that unauthorized ECW book that ended with a laundry list of all the money owed to specific wrestlers. EDIT: Whoops, I missed Razorblade's post.
  6. Well well well. Maybe they can convince me to go to the Assembly Hall for the first time ever -- and yeah, that place is gigantic.
  7. IWA's theme is what AEW's should be. Match was basically two guys fighting in a phone booth but it looked pretty uncomfortable. I counted a total of three wrestling moves. How good is Sullivan's BBQ, I bet? I'd put a hurting on one of those rotisserie chickens. EDIT: Watched the Hijo de Canis Lupus/Dragon Bane match too. The way they were acting, it makes me wonder if you have to sign a waiver to be in the crowd at an IWRG show. Those guys were splattering each other (and themselves) on those dives.
  8. https://bloody-disgusting.com/home-video/3553147/phantasm-sphere-collection-comes-full-scale-replica-original-prop-exclusive/ Here's the concept art. Pretty neat.
  9. I went through the guide looking for stuff to DVR and found Horror Hotel, The Devil's Own, Night of Long Shadows, Suspiria, and Haxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages late Thursday/early Friday morning, and Gojira, Godzilla, Godzilla Raids Again, Godzilla vs. Mothra, Mothra, and The Town That Dreaded Sundown (HOLY SHIT. I've still never seen this) Friday night/Saturday morning. This should be a good month...
  10. Due to looking at the trailers above this showed up in my Youtube feed Very NSFW. Reminded me that you can put Barefoot Gen on my "films I never want to watch" list.
  11. Well, if anything, this thread reminded me of that.
  12. Man, I have seen some crazy shit in a theater but seeing THAT takes the cake.
  13. Hell, I don't even know those two. I was thinking Vampire Hunter D, Urotsukidoji (which verged on pornography -- I was an advanced middle schooler), and random stuff that would come out to the Blockbuster shelves that were invariably about an hour long and about killing demons. I forgot all about Ninja Scroll until LoneWolf posted about it though, so there might be some blank spots in my memory there.
  14. Cesar looks to have a busy night on his hands there
  15. Well, I guess I'll always have Urotsukidoji then. *runs and hides*
  16. I love this so much. Lets play cards, boss.
  17. I'm pissed that I missed the whole first half of this thing. Especially the emergence of rock and rockabilly.
  18. Ex-guitarist of legendary Japanese maniacs GISM's band. RIP Randy. This stuff RULES Ah, for that matter, here's GISM. Strongly straddling the barrier between metal and hardcore back before that was a thing, well known for lead maniac Sakevi who would wield flamethrowers, throw cinderblocks into the crowd, fire blanks from pistols into the crowd, etc. Find some live video of these guys and be amazed at the dichotomy between this guy screaming and growling while otherwise looking bored, wearing fatigues and bullet belts while the other members looked like Motley Crue or WASP got together with Venom and decided to bite each other's styles. EDIT: I am 90% sure I've posted the latter album here before, but fuck it So, here's the live video
  19. Seconded. I'd say it was possibly my favorite match on the card. Them doing a straight match is gonna be something else.
  20. So have we figured out who the new Contra guy is yet?
