It's funny, when Bryan's segment started I was thinking jeez, either this crowd is dead for everything or he's cooled off some being off TV. By the end, I was really happy about the reception he got, and hoped he either a) retires somewhat intact if that's what's called for, or b ) is healed in time for Survivor Series

Schiavone is actually convincing me that he truly hates Syxx. Say what you want about the guy's work, but he is making a lot of the modern day guys look pretty blase by comparison.

NXT, Lucha Underground, three months til Summerslam, hundreds of thousands of hours of classic footage at your fingertips because we live in the future? What reason is there to be optimistic about wrestling?

Larry Z., from Nitro episode 60, in regard to Grand Rapids, Michigan: "If nowhere's got a middle, we're dead center." The Living Legend keeps it real

Global Force Wrestling Debut!
Zakk_Sabbath replied to The Nature Boy's topic in FEDS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK
I remain fuckin astonished that Shelton Benjamin isnt involved in this -
Haha yeah I've seen that. They had to explain to him what The Varsity Club was, and his response was "Did that really happen? It must have been the shits" Also thanks to those who pointed out that I was indeed thinking of the Bagwell DDP fight.

Chris "The Adonis" Mordetsky. -
I wish I could remember the exact source, but I sort of remember a Bobby Heenan shoot interview where he said that DDP was throwing worked punches, and that they were trying to work the locker room. Can anyone verify this??

Fowler, I'm glad you agreed with my rationale behind Sabbath, but big ups to you on Sticky Fingers. Forget Sugar, forget Knocking, (and this is a big admission) I honestly think Wild Horses is my favorite Stones song. I have actually been thinking about badgering Zakk Wylde on Twitter to do that as a bonus track on Book of Shadows II, which should be coming out in the next year or two.

In no particular order: 1) Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath Often imitated, never duplicated. I could make an argument for ANY Sabbath album from the Ozz or Dio years, but this one captures the vibe perfectly. Catch me on another day, and I might go Vol. 4 or MOR, even Heaven & Hell, but today, I'm keeping it old school 2) Metallica - Master of Puppets Perfects the sound they started on the first two albums, and went as far as they could with on Justice before simplifying their sound for the '90s. Possibly the peak of their songwriting, and the only album of theirs besides TBA that I could say has near-perfect production values. 3) UFO - Strangers in the Night Arguably the greatest live album of all time, with all due respect to Frampton Comes Alive. Every single track is gold, and it's a focused, motivated Michael Schenker on absolute fire. 4) Ghost - Opus Eponymous Sure, this albums's only 5 or so years old, and the follow up wasn't quite as charming, but start-to-finish there isn't a bad cut on this album. A modern take on a vintage sound with a dash of Satanic imagery in the vein of Sabbath, BOC, and Mercyful Fate. Can't go wrong. Plus, hey, this is a wrestling board-- who doesn't love a great gimmick? I'm gonna edit later with #5, because I truly, truly cannot pick. I'm leaning toward Zep II or III, but by the same token, there are a couple hardcore albums from high school that I might want to taste purely for nostalgia every now and again, as I fashion a spear with which to slay a beast suitable for eating.

I feel like I was just talking about that sketch on here, too. Such funny stuff. Goldberg's theme used to pop up on WWII stuff on the History Channel all the time, before they took the channel in a different direction. Huge difference from the later years where they were just throwing money around to have the main eventers come out to high priced stuff like Hendrix, Metallica, Megadeth, KISS etc. So bummed out every time DDP's Jimmy Hart Nirvana-rip off is edited. I guess it was still too similar for the comfort of WWE. It's a fun game whenever I notice there's been no announcing going on for a few minutes to guess whether they're muted due to a music edit or for Benoit reasons.

Slight bump if anyone ever hears anything, please let us know. I'm watching every Nitro in order along with their respective PPV's, the Nitros being down to 1.5 hours with no breaks are such a breath of fresh air. The whole shows are so put together that I don't want to leave the screen, whereas if I watch any WWE Raw the last ten years I usually play games on my phone or do other things around the house while it's on. I'm just coming up to Halloween Havoc, October 1996, so i'm going to run out sooner or later of episodes to watch. Oh, and how great was Lex Lugers theme song? Agree 100% with everything. I am on the Nitro after Halloween Havoc, and I'm beginning to sweat. Someone told me possibly around Labor Day to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Nitro's debut, but that seems like way, way too long to wait. It's just so much more engaging than modern day Raw. I always get a kick out of hearing Lex's music during some random highlight package on ESPN-- gotta love WCW for their weird stock music usage.

My credit is fucked anyway, at least if I find out they leaked my info I might get $25 credit for the ShopZone or something

Fuck TNA, it's been too many years since I've heard him talk about GEM MINT ROOKIESSSS. FOLKS, TAKE A LOOK AT THISSSS, IT SIMPLY GETS NO BETTER
-
I'll second that, and i'll also say that they should have been much more involved in the Shield/Evolution feud
-
Someone who isn't me got a glimpse of part of the WWE tape library during their summer job as a college student 8 years ago, and can assure you that the master tape exists
-
I always thought that feud was a whole ton of fun too, but I figured I was biased since I was there live for the "I'm your papi" promo
-
I'd like for it to be Ambrose just to continue the momentum from the win last night, but I could see it being Neville. Neville seems like the kind of guy who, had he debuted in the brand split era, would have had the IC or US put on him right out of the gate. I would not be surprised if those in charge think that a nice KOTR win would help put a little extra pepper on Neville, without having him beat a) a Cena who is currently tied up with Rusev or b) a (hopefully) returning Bryan.

I dunno, man, I thought the Jericho/Punk stuff was fantastic and that was only a couple years ago. And, I kinda recall being in the minority on this, but I thought the Wyatt feud had potential to be something special but was cut off at the legs because of time constraints with the build. That being said, dude does need to chill with the scarves

If they ever make a movie about the fall of WCW, heel Nick Patrick has to be played by Kenny Powers

Oh my, she's a good lookin' gal.

And out walks Jeff Jarrett in the worst gear imaginable.

YOUR 2015 INTERNET MATCHES OF THE YEAR THREAD
Zakk_Sabbath replied to DEAN's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
I've been a little too under the weather to catch the Spanish-language re-run of LU on Unimas the last few Saturdays so I haven't been catching much LU, but that match was unbelievable, man. I truly, truly hope they get a second season. I read on another board they may be struggling with funding, and if so, that's a damn shame. Even if the in-ring product was shit, the presentation alone is awesome-- I know I've talked many times in the past how much I loved WSX for the same reason, and it stands true here. How do you guys feel about the commentary team? I'm kinda on the fence. This match had a few spots where a little more emotion would've really sold the situation, but maybe I'm asking a lot. And this is coming from a guy who didn't mind Striker in WWE, since he was at least a change of pace. I thought he was much more suited to color once I heard him on WK9 with JR. This is like two color guys talking over each other with the occasional move call thrown in. I honestly don't mind Vamp as much as others seem to elsewhere. -
Someone's gonna end up "held hostage" like Vader in Kuwait
