  1. "Ear" I really thought that by the mid-2000s, we'd be watching Raw headlined by Test, Val Venis, and Edge. Well, I got one of them right, I guess. I blame a WWF Magazine article I read as a kid that looked inside whatever training camp they were at in 1997. Also, the quotation marks are not necessary. Methinks Stephanie is well versed in the art of shinshee shinshee
  2. Even if TNA banned e-mail from their office, they would still end up accidentally sending a nasty fax to the head of Nashville Public Access
  3. Nothing better than the first Jeff Hardy/HHH match of all time on a random 95 Raw, with Vince pimping "Stop, Or My Mom Will Shoot!" on commentary
  4. http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/581497-tna-statement-on-cancelation Statement from TNA Regarding IMPACT WRESTLING It has come to our attention that several internet news sources have falsely attributed statements to TNA, its executives and broadcasting partner. These false statements constitute defamation and if necessary we will seek all legal remedies available to us. haaaaaaaaaaahahahaha
  5. Forgetting about the FBI is an all time bad brain fart on my part.
  6. I dunno ,maybe, but he himself was born in pennsylvania, so thats what makes it hilarious to me guys can we just talk about tna more
  7. It actually gets more hilarious
  8. I felt for Joe tonight somewhat similarly to the WMXXX win for Bryan. Sure, it's a much, much smaller scale, but like Bryan (and Punk before him) it's a guy I've watched work in my hometown for a couple hundred people. I don't care who you are, where youre from, what's your age-- that's as close as you can get to legitimate emotion in pro wrestling as a grown man, and it was as real as it gets.
  9. I saw Bob Ryder got a little salty with him on Twitter about something TNA related pretty recently. And again, I frequented 1Wrestling in my early internet days (I've told the story but that site is actually how I got smartened up as a kid), I liked him on WCW Live when I could get it-- but I will never, ever not associate him with the phrase "beefy, ecstasy-addicted Abyss." I'm sorry, just won't happen.
  10. Remember like 15 years ago in the World Baseball Classic when Italy didn't have enough guys, so they got Mike Piazza? Their team is gonna totally end up being Santino Marella, Salvatore Sincere, and an 83 year old Dominic DeNucci
  11. Which, by the way, is ridiculous. 1) she's a babe, 2) if she smokes, she pokes. Hell, I started smoking with the express purpose of talking to the artsy girls standing outside my college classes. I knew Cornette was involved the second I saw a "New Heavenly Bodies" on the roster. I like Cornette, mind you, but he didn't do a whole lot for Bodacious Bart and Bombastic Bob.
  12. That's what I was trying to post this morning but I'm awful on the mobile site!! I'm so pumped this actually came to fruition
  13. Dude you guys... http://globalforcewrestling.com/lop/2015/05/scott-steiner-770x439_c.jpg
  14. I'm super bummed about the Scott Hall news, but I get it. For a guy in that position, where do you go after the HOF? I was hoping against hope that managing his kid's career would be enough, but it is what it is. Full disclosure: I'm shitty drunk as I type this. I don't begrudge the guy a few. If he's not flipping Cadillacs, what can anyone really say? It's an awkward, weird thing. He got the DDP Yoga rub, got the HOF kudos, got the WM moment in the Sting/HHH match. Where is the ceiling for a guy like him at this point in his life? I saw he was involved in GFW somehow, but what does that even entail at this point? Maybe he'll tweet tomorrow that it's a one time fuck up, and it's onwards and upwards. Or maybe he'll eat 34 Somas and die in a hotel room in Chattanooga before some kind of meet and greet. Maybe he'll fuck Sunny on film for a payday. It's such a strange, strange reality we all share. I wish the guy nothing but the best, but I'm prepared for the worst. This made me sad. Lets change subjects. Fuck the term "Championship Opportunity."
  15. I guess she did a strip club appearance back in February too: https://twitter.com/Club_Pleasure/status/565002824069939201/photo/1 I have to think WWE legal would've said something about her being advertised as "WWE Hall of Fame Diva Sunny" but the whole thing is so sad I could see them also avoiding even addressing it and bringing more attention to it
  16. I just assumed it crashed cause of this: https://twitter.com/itsvadertime/status/597616959958618114
  17. Superstar Billy Graham wrote in his book that when he was in some bodybuilding or strongman competition or something, he considered blading after "hitting" his head with whatever log he was lifting to add some intrigue, but decided against it in case he was caught. And I'm thinking, wow, even back then, someone would have surely been able to see this, not only live in the crowd but on ABC Wide World of Sports or whatever it was, since obviously their cameramen wouldn;t be smaarted up
  18. House shows are usually pretty kid-heavy too, from my experiences, so it should be interesting to see some of the crowd reactions. Almost like the antithesis of a RR or WM crowd. Though, I'll admit, once news of this broke, the crowd make-up may have changed once tickets started going faster (unless it was sold out already, somehow)
  19. No argument there dude. There was a brief period in that era where he was trying to channel a little from The Rock that I didn't care for (the Book End, the "$500 shirts," though it wasn't as egregious as DDP or Juvi could be at times) but his in-ring stuff never suffered. I say this without sarcasm, it's actually been cool to see old Harlem Heat stuff on the Network after having started Nitro from the beginning. I didn't really watch WCW regularly until 97ish so I never saw a lot of that stuff unless it was on home video from Blockbuster.
  20. Here's a semi-related question: I recall around this period, Zakk Wylde said he recorded an entrance theme for Austin (this obviously isn't it). Has that ever seen the light of day? I saw someone on another site once theorize that it got repurposed for Snitsky, but I don't think that phrasing matches his style (though the tone is damn close).
  21. Like, "Booker as TV Champ having great matches with Rick Martel and Voldemort" last days, or "Booker as World Champ after that big, bald piece of shit Hulk Hogan took his memorial belt home" last days?
  22. That kid looked really familiar, and then I placed it: they should have re-made Mrs. Doubtfire with Sheik in the Robin Williams role.
  23. I dunno, I just wasn't that into it. Between that, and the PTP as the Outlaws segment, I just got a bad taste in my mouth about overreliance on past stars when a) they're not themselves even involved and b ) it's not even WM season when that sort of thing is to be expected, which feels like it JUST ended. It just seemed really crappy and lazy to me. Axel had a good thing going with Ryback, and the RR for X days gimmick. Sandow got the Dustin as Se7en drop the gimmick interview, and seemed like he had a future in that. Like I said, just lazy
