  1. That was like a seventeen-minute-long live-action Homestar Runner skit, so of course I absolutely loved it. New Day is like black millennial DX at this point, so I'm sure for some people, that video will be too much, but I am in that exact cultural demo, so I welcome more super-long videos of these guys acting like jackasses.
  2. Is there going to be a DVDVR community on PSN? Just curious. I probably don't play most of the games that y'all do anyway, at least multi, but I'd still be interested.
  3. Bummed to see Joe and Bálor beat Enzo and Cass. They clipped the hell out of this match because we went from opening standoff before the break to hot tag after it. It looked like it was a hot match though. I really wanted to see Crews and Gargano do some more counter-wrestling. Great athleticism out of both guys that really made the exchange fun. Gargano slowing things down with holds probably wasn't the match they should have decided to wrestle after that opening exchange. I still think Crews gives too much to his opponents right now. I feel like after Vince really sees this dude, he's getting the "next John Cena" push on the main roster for some reason. OK, Dana mispronouncing "hyena" and then Emma chiming in with "She says it like that" to help Regal understand was really funny. Also love the off-screen video Asuka murdering people terrifying Dana and causing Emma to bail. Prediction: After Bayley retains over Sasha at Takeover: Respect and finally earns Sasha's (ahem) respect, Nia Jax comes out and destroys Bayley and also maybe Sasha. Nice stalling suplex from Billie Kay there. "You're nothin' but a Billie goat" is so absurd that it made me laugh. Emma is an awesome heel with the hi-five fakeout to the kid in the crowd and kicking Billie's arm away from the tag nonchalantly and such. Fine tag match from these guys. I'm just a huge fan of Tyler Breeze's act. Man, I wish he was the champ right now. Clever boy, adopting the Killswitch Unprettier. Also much better than the Beauty Shot, which I just don't buy as a flash knockout-type move. I am SO excited for Takeover: Respect. The card looks stacked. The tag matches are going to be awesome, and I'm really looking forward to Jordan and Gable vs. whoever comes out of the semis of the tournament and, of course, Bayley/Sasha IronMan. Nice hype video to finish the show.
  4. I backed Broken Age on Kickstarter...which reminds me, where the heck is my boxed copy? Anyway, brutal month. I have two of these games from Humble Indie Bundles already. Others may fare better (hopefully). I wish Kung Fu Rabbit was instead a port of Kung Fu Chaos from OG Xbox somehow.
  5. I can't believe they even released that game. And that's post-patch install! I still play THPS and THPS2 on Dreamcast and even THPS2X on OG Xbox occasionally, but I checked out on the series around THPS3. It's sad to see a once great series reduced to an abomination like that. On another note, I found a reason to own a Wii, and that reason is Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
  6. It's a fun game. It's totally easy, so if you're looking for challenge, you won't find any of it. I died approximately three or four times, and I died zero times after I gained the ability to brand and mind control enemies. I paid sixty bucks for the vanilla game, and I think that it was worth it, if only because screwing up the line of military succession in creative ways kept me playing for quite awhile.
  7. Blah. Black Flag is awesome, but I got it at launch. Not a SMB fan and I have it on Steam. What's on Vita?!
  8. Yeah, that Jason Segal one. Awful, awful, awful movie. I never thought that I would dislike anything that involved the Muppets, much less dislike that strongly. But that's for another thread.
  9. In retrospect, this would have been the very best way to end Goldberg's streak without it seeming cheap or forced. People believed that 1) the Diamond Cutter equaled death and that 2) DDP could hit it from anywhere at any time and immediately turn the tide of a match. DDP getting the win off that Diamond Cutter that popped the roof off the place at Havoc would have been totally accepted by the crowd. DDP, by the way, started to really get over as early as '95 in the feud with Badd. He would hit the Diamond Cutter and a lot of people were throwing up the diamond in the crowd. And remember, he decisively lost that feud.
  10. This show is pretty much a puppet extension of 30 Rock with Kermit as Liz Lemon. I guess I can see the Larry Sanders comparisons too with Piggy as Larry, Kermit as Artie, and Fozzie as Hank Kingsley, but either way, it's for people who are adult Muppet fans from way back. Personally, I think they should revive Muppet Babies and show it on the Disney Channel if they want to rope in a new generation of fans (which I don't think is the purpose of this ABC Muppet show). Anyway, even if kids see this show and don't like it (and since it's out of their wheelhouse, they probably wouldn't), nothing can be worse than the garbage that was the Muppet Movie revival from a couple years back. If I didn't already love the Muppets, I would have never given them a chance after that.
  11. Yeah, you Eva haters are getting Reddit/Cageside Seats-level obsessive about it, and it is beginning to permeate my glorious little respite thread from the shit in pro wrestling, the NXT thread. Come on, guys.
  12. I thought that 2011 had more to it than Booker T and Nash returning. Punk and New Nexus cutting off the ring before getting tossed and the near-win for Santino at the end were also awesome. That was the same year, right? The 40-man?
  13. I think Bischoff is my favorite bullshitter in pro wrestling. He's such a slick talker, but quite fun to listen to. Also, man, I'd love to see Ken Shamrock fight Meng in a random parking lot in 1998. I'm sort of sorry JBL mentioned that. Now my life feels incomplete.
  14. Shit, before I read El Dragon's post, I was wondering why Bayley would want to see a supercut of their feud set to Frank Sinatra.
  15. This is where you and I part. I have no clue what would make anyone think that about Alexa Bliss. She's pretty good in her heel role and is a high spot wrestler who does them clumsily half the time. To be fair, she could suddenly break out a la Sasha Banks, but there's not much there that hints at that possibility so far.
  16. This show was no great shakes wrestling-wise, but the character and promo work was so awesome that I was cool with it. Even Eva Marie showed some good personality.
  17. I know we're talking realistically here about what Vince might do, but I don't want to see any of those guys at WrestleMania unless it's in the role that Hogan, Austin, and Rock were in at WM 30. I want new stars there. Cena and Lesnar are fine, but they should be putting over Big E and Reigns respectively as the next two big stars. Otherwise, I'm pretty much sick of seeing any of the Monday Night Wars era guys being trotted out for programs. I'm way over it.
  18. Big E tweeting that Rusev had The New Day over to dinner to apologize for beefing with them last year followed by Rusev adding in a tweet that they also were invited to make fun of Lana and that the gathering was, and I quote, "just 4 man, whole chickens, and yogurt. Laughing at a woman" is with no hyperbole one of the five funniest wrestling-related things that I have ever seen, heard, or read.
  19. Yeah, I'm all in on Bad Day or Ru Day or New Bad Ru or whatever. They should become a mega group and hold all of the championships forever and ever and ever.
  20. There was a lot of clutter and crap in 2001 WCW; it's just that what came before was so bad that the good (cruiserweight division getting back on track, Scott Steiner as top heel even though many of the matches weren't that great) seems even better than what it was and outshines the bad. On the other hand, you still had to suffer through garbage like Road Warrior Animal being a surprise member of the Magnificent 7 and Bam Bam Bigelow feuding with Shawn Stasiak and stuff of that nature.
  21. Shit, don't know why I wrote Dusty's name when I was thinking of Magnum. My bad. I mean, I love goofy Cold War-style stuff. I think Rusev's Cold War-era throwback gimmick is great, for example. I guess he is an acquired taste, as you said.
  22. This is one of the rare '80s JCP dudes that I don't get. The ridiculous voice kills me and I don't typically enjoy Koloff matches. I love love love '85-'89 JCP, but this dude loses me every time. He's even worse in '90 AWA (I think it was '90...somewhere between '89 and '91), but I guess he was going through personal issues then. Still, I just can't get into him, even in stuff like the best-of-seven with Dusty which was a hot angle. Hell, I even enjoy his running buddy Krusher Khruschev well enough, and Krusher sucked at that point. What am I missing? That's an honest question because I'd like to look at Koloff again and find a way to appreciate him more.
  23. Reigns is solid in-ring, but dude is so sympathetic right now and easy to root for. This is going to sound ridiculous, but after getting shit on because the company was stupid enough to bring Bryan back at the same time as him to getting hit in the head with briefcases and booed or met with indifference because he was booked like garbage, he's maybe the most sympathetic babyface in the company and almost totally because of inside baseball-type stuff. When he says stuff like, "fans don't even know what makes a good worker because they never wrestled" or "I'm just trying to entertain and fans are chucking stuff at my head," I feel so bad for him because I can sense the sincere frustration. He tries, he works hard, he's improving, and it feels like everyone craps on him. Fuck it, I want him to overcome and be champ. He's had to put up with a lot of garbage this past year.
  24. I'd assume higher numbers of people who feel the way I do (do we get even one hundred incidents like in a full year of WWE shows right now? I think extrapolating that number to one percent of all arenagoers if there were payouts to just a few guys is still tough to do) and lower payout. WWE is the type of company that goes head-to-head with people who actually have money; they'd hang railjumpers up in court for years and beat them into submission legally. Plus, if you're the type of dude that runs in to take an asskicking, you'll probably blow through that settlement money in WAY less than a decade. Seriously, though, depending on the state, potential damages may be limited so as not to make things worthwhile for the rail jumper - and that's IF the court finds for them. It's just not a viable strategy even for total dumbasses. You'd be better off doing the old "knock down a jar of pickles for someone else to slip in" supermarket scam.
