In the building for the Canes game against the Wild and it was the best atmosphere I've been to in almost a decade at a game in Raleigh. The crowd was lit and you could see the players wanted to do well but maybe came out a bit nervous. I really feel that the Hurricanes were robbed of goalie interference on the goal with 0.3 seconds left in regulation but a win is a win. Onto a very tough challenge tomorrow at home vs the Blue Jackets. Let's go Canes!

Carolina has 5 sacks at this moment and there's very little reason they couldn't have had 7-8 already. This is looking like a championship level defense.

I feel that GGG won the fight but it was very close. I'm glad there will be a rematch though as this fight was wonderful to watch. Canelo can win but he would need a lot more of what he showed in the first minute of round ten. I don't understand how anyone could have scored this 118-110 unless you were looking at power punches but even then compubox had the power punches only slightly in Canelo's favor.

I will give the Bills defense credit, they are legit. If they weren't they could easily have been run out of the building instead of hanging around with a chance to win.

I understand that Cam looked pretty poor to begin the game, I won't argue that, but I feel like this is what Panther football is supposed to look like. Wear teams down with the run game and long drives, keep our defense fresh, keep the lead, and let our D-Line feast. If we can refine what we are doing today, there is no reason why we can't be exceptionally successful this year. This is a formula that puts us in position to win championships. This is only week one so I will pump the breaks on the optimism some but this could work out very nicely if we execute.

I have been very confused since Thomas Davis started saying he wanted an extension. He's said before that this contract was going to be his last. Besides Shaq Thompson has been behind him for the last two years so I'm guessing everybody thought he'd step in and start when TD retired. That may be what happened with Gettleman but it seems like more than just that.

I am very pleased so far with what GM Ron Francis is doing in Carolina. He had three goals this off season: 1. Fix the goaltending situation: In Scott Darling, Out Eddie Lack. RIP Lacko Tacos 2. Get a third paring defense man since it was beyond horrid last year: Out Ron Hainsey, In Trevor van Riemsdyk. Congrats Ron on the Cup! 3. Acquire a top 6 level forward: Welcome back Justin Williams. Carolina went without a captain last year and he'd be a perfect choice before it's time to give it to Jaccob Slavin. Why? He's already won a cup here in Raleigh and from twitter: Justin Williams on signing with the Hurricanes: "Carolina hasn't made the playoffs since 2009. That's a long time. We're done losing." The only thing left that is a definite need is #1 center. I wouldn't be against it being Matt Duchene from the Avs, but I don't think we're a trade match and I don't think he's the guy who puts you over the top. There is talk that it might be Sebastian Aho down the line but currently he's not up for the job just yet. With the defense set of Slavin, Pesce, Faulk, Hanifin, Fleury, and van Riemsdyk, the blue line is set for awhile. I, and the few Canes fans left, desperately wanted playoffs last year. Barring significant injury this year, there is no reason why Carolina can not earn a wild card spot this year.
