Weird question. I am doing a lot more writing lately, freelance and stuff for myself. One of the things I would like to do to keep me sane is to do a bit more writing about the things that I love; pro wrestling, music and movies. I know what I like about movie writing. I know what I like about writing about music. Outside of recaps or news, I am not sure what sort of good writing is out there on pro wrestling. So who is doing semi-regular writing about pro wrestling that isn't just news or recaps?

My niece knows it's all a work, but she says its like any TV show. She's just emotionally invested.

My 17 year old niece is obsessed with NXT, and she hates wrestling. Loves Bailey, Sami Zayn, Finn Bálor and Tyler Breeze. Her boyfriend dumped her this week. She's down, so I made dinner and then I asked her tonight if she wanted to watch the special with me. She told me she heard what happens and doesn't think she can watch someone she loves get hurt right now. Then she tweeted Tyler Breeze for relationship advice. I love this kid.

Owens stood over Zayn after the referee stopped the match and posed with the belt. He's a fucking heel.

The crowd was good in spots during the really brutal part of the Owens/Zayn match. The silence during the punches while Sami was in the ropes and the ref was checking on him worked. The cheering after the first powerbombs, not so much. That match was fun, top notch stuff. I'm going to re-watch it this afternoon. I know it's all a work, but those punches and forearms to Zayn's head at the end were pretty disturbing. I just wonder what retribution for Sami looks like? Owens has to get his comeuppance and lose the title, but after this beating and the powerbomb to the apron it's just going to have to be Owens getting his neck broken, right?

Every thirty seconds Maguire takes off his fucking mask to cry. There's the ridiculous "Spider-Jesus" shit after the awesome subway fight. There's more post-9/11 "New Yorkers take care of their own" crap during the Spider-Jesus stuff. Also all of the romance crap between Peter and MJ is Attack of the Clones-bad. Seriously, watch that movie now and separate it from your fond memories of being 14 and watching it. It's just not a good movie.

Carolina should re-sign Sekera, but they can't because Rutherford gave that ridiculous contract to Semin. Fucking Hurricanes.

The second part of Scott Hall's interview is my favorite Wustin show. I love Steve and Scott talking about who had good drop kicks. And also the story about Doug Furnas putting Vaseline on his thighs, but that's another thing.

The Hurricanes have suddenly turned into a competent, hard-working hockey team. They're 9-3-3 since January and have (according to TSN) gotten almost half of their points for the year in this stretch. That's pretty crazy. I think Jordan Staal coming back, Eric Staal shifting to the wing and the team finally buying into Peters's system is paying off. Despite the scores of last night's game and the Anahiem game a few days ago, they aren't a team that scores a lot of goals. It's a shame that the team is clicking so well so close to the trade deadline. Sekera and Tlusty are both goners. I really hope they can capitalize on this momentum somehow.
