  1. The Reds might as well throw in the towel at this rate. They’ve been hit with injuries pretty much all season. With Stephenson on the shelf, the catching squadron for the next 4-6 weeks will be made up of Aramis Garcia and Chris Okey, who was called up from the minors today. I suppose there’s also Kyle Farmer they could use in a pinch too.
  2. I really like 2001 WCW. Of the three PPVs they did, I always feel like SuperBrawl is the weakest. That's not to say it's a bad show, it's just not as good as Sin or Greed. The opening six-man elimination match with Three Count, Jung Dragons and Karagias/Noble all against each other is good. So is Chavo vs. Rey. I just think the ridiculous overbooking of Steiner vs. Nash and some of the other goofiness on the show drags it down. It's watchable, I just think Sin and Greed are better overall shows.
  3. Combine this with the previously announced Negro Casas & Gringo Loco vs Volador Jr & ASF match and this is looking like a super fun show! To make it better, it’ll be streaming for free on the GCW YouTube channel!
  4. Kim’s Convenience (from Canada) is fantastic. The whole series is up on Netflix in the US. It’s funny, heartwarming and just kinda generally goofy at times. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee is so, so good in his role as Appa. My favorite is Corner Gas (also from Canada) for sure though. I love the humor and I live in a town kind of like where it’s set. I’m currently going through the animated version and nearly to the episode with Trish Stratus, Lance Storm and Bret Hart in it. Once I finish the animated version, I’ll go back and watch the original version.
  5. @Curt McGirtI've never seen the MS1 vs. Sangre Chicana match so thanks for sharing the link! @Thomas BuggThat Blue Demon Jr vs. Dr. Wagner Jr is such a bloodbath but it's very, very good! The legendary Atlantis vs. Villano III mascara vs mascara from March, 17 2000 match is one of my favorite matches ever. It's bloody. It tells a great story and the action itself is just so, so awesome!
  6. I've been so out of the baseball loop this season. The Reds have been so-awful plus the off-season lockout mess just kind of ruined it for me this year. I had no idea that the Phillies fired Girardi and the Angels axed Maddon. I'm fully expecting the Reds to part ways with David Bell after the season, although their misfortunes this year were mostly their own fault after jettisoning Barnhart, Miley, Gray, Suarez, Winker, and Garrett among others. I think I've watched only a handful of games this year and those were mostly whatever games were on national TV or the featured game on MLB Network or YouTube TV. Once the NHL playoffs are over, I'll tune back in and maybe check out the All-Star Game.
  7. I barely remember any of last season. All the cancellations caused by COVID and the temporary realignment really messed with me trying to enjoy it. Plus none of the teams I liked were ever featured by NBC since I didn't have my NHL subscription. Also, with the Canucks in 2011, that's when I kind of fell out of hockey and wasn't watching. I didn't get back into it until McDavid and Matthews came along.
  8. Should be a fun show regardless. The majority of the time the MITB matches can deliver. Last year's men's match was one of my favorite WWE matches of the year. Nice to see Bianca have a challenger that's not named Becky Lynch. I don't think Rhea wins the title but maybe goes over in a DQ finish. As far as who wins each MITB match, these are random guesses since no one has actually qualified: Men's - * Logical pick - Riddle or Orton to set up one of the title matches with Roman. * Hopeful pick - Kevin Owens Women's - * Becky Lynch --- That way they (WWE) can call her "Becky/Becks in the Bank"
  9. I've watched a few games of the new USFL so I pulled out my copy of Jeff Pearlman's "Football for a Buck" and started reading it again. This is my third time reading it and it's just as good as the first time I read it. Pearlman has a really easy to read style and doesn't get too far into the weeds on stuff. The anecdotes from the former players and the goofy and bizarre behind the scenes happenings are priceless. I just finished the portion on Steve Young and the LA Express. I forget his name but the owner of the Express struck me as an LA version of Herb Abrams, only crazier (if that's even possible).
  10. I watched the majority of Dynamite but started falling asleep while watching Moxley vs KOR, probably because I knew the outcome was inevitable. Some other thoughts: * The Casino Battle Royal was better than some of the other ones I've seen from them but still feels like a jumbled mess when a new slate of entrants come out. Would've preferred someone like Keith Lee or Andrade to win. Better yet, maybe someone from the JAS to keep that going into Blood & Guts. * PAC vs. Buddy Matthews was hella good! That tournament and that title though seems like it came from out of nowhere. * Eddie Kingston is amazing on promos. * Page vs. Finlay was fine. Didn't think it was anything too special. * Wardlow destroying geeks next week will be fun. * I'm an extremely casual viewer of New Japan and I'm kinda familiar with Will Ospreay. I saw a lot of him when he did some stuff in ROH though (the match with Jeff Cobb at G1 Supercard comes to mind). Have no idea who Aussie Open are but the six-man tag on Rampage should be good in theory. * Marina Shafir getting a title shot seemed random. At least it got Thunder Rosa on TV though so I won't complain! Next week's Dynamite looks wild with the three-way ladder match and Jericho vs. Ortiz hair vs. hair.
  11. Agreed. And now I want nachos. Thanks. That's gonna be all kinds of awesome!
  12. As I mentioned on another board, really hope this is happening! If Honor Club is still a thing, then I hope it streams on there and isn't a standalone PPV on Fite. That might also be where they announce if/when the weekly TV comes back. I suppose if the show is happening, then we might hear something about it on Dynamite and/or Rampage this week.
  13. Watched NXT on a whim last night, mainly because I didn't feel like watching anything else. I was pleasantly surprised at how good of a show it was. I really liked the Rok-C (ahem ... Roxanne Perez) vs. Tiffany Stratton match, mainly because Rok-C is really, really good. If they're going where I think (and hope) they're going, the Great American Bash special on July 5th is looking like a great card! Crews vs Breakker, Rose vs. Rok-C, and Dolan/Jayne vs. Jade/Hartwell all look really probable for that show.
  14. I'm bummed too that the Oilers didn't advance. Was really hoping for them in the final. I can't remember the last time a Canadian team was in the final (was it the Flames in the 2000s?) Not sure who to pull for in the East, but I think right now I'm leading towards the Rangers. I just can't deal with Tampa running over everyone again. Regardless, in the finals I think my pick will be Colorado as I've been a fan of them going back to the Joe Sakic days.
  15. Hey everyone! I'm your friendly neighborhood nerdy wrestling girl with one leg ... Brynn! My name is pronounced like "Ben" except with an "R" after the "B". I've been a fan of wrestling for as long as I can remember! I don't remember exactly how I came across it but it was WWF Raw sometime in 1995 (when I was 5) and the first pay-per-view I remember being hyped was that years Survivor Series. Through the 90s I watched WCW and some ECW as well (when I could). Since WCW and ECW shut down, I watched mostly WWE along with peeking in on TNA here and there. I also borrowed tapes from some friends and I watched mid 2000s NOAH, Ring of Honor and random indies. I also enjoy watching old stuff on Peacock/WWE Network, YouTube and Impact Plus that I missed out on. As for today, I still watch tons and tons of wrestling. Dynamite and Rampage from AEW every week plus the majority of their PPVs, NXT on occasion when there's nothing else on or if it's a special episode. I also watch the big shows from Impact and I never miss a WWE "premium live event" (NXT included in that). When I'm not watching wrestling, I enjoy shows like Yellowstone, South Park, Bob's Burgers, Simpsons, King of the Hill, Great North, any of the Star Wars specials on Disney Plus and also competition shows like Survivor and Big Brother! In terms of other sports, I'll watch hockey and football. Possibly a baseball game if it's a team that interests me but they really lost me after the lockout this past winter. Anyway, sorry for carrying on. I’m just happy to be here!
