  1. Haven't gotten Bianca Belair and haven't been a fan so far, totally fine with Becky beating her. Quick win leaves the option for a rematch, which I don't need but should make Belair fans happier actually.
  2. I'm not a fan of today's wrestling, but that entrance was scorching. I'm really missed there was announcing a minute in or so. Just let the audio and visual speak for itself, this isn't radio!
  3. I have no idea about Lucha, which is why I thought it was Flair with Jericho.
  4. R. I. P. Gerd Mueller, legendary striker of the late 60ies and the 70ies, who had battled Alzheimer's disease during the last few years. Mueller was a long time record holder for most goals in a single Bundesliga season (40 goals in 1971/72, broken by Lewandowski's 41 goals last season) as well as most goals as a German National (68 goals, broken by Miroslav Klose in 2014 after 40 years). He was also the record holder for most World Cup goals scored at 14 from 1974 to 2006. He is still the most successful overall goalscorer in the Bundesliga with 365 goals scored (in 427 appearances). He was the attacker for the German World Cup squads 1970 and 1974 (3rd place & Champions) aswell as 1972's European championship winners. Probably the greatest goal poacher of all time.
  5. I don't think there are Leipzig fans outside of Leipzig...
  6. Haaland is kind of good at football (two goals, three assists).
  7. St. Pauli beat Hamburger SV in today's Hamburg city derby 3-2. Apparently a really good game. Good start for my team, 7 Pts out of the first three games. Maybe we can avoid the worrying tendencies we had over the last few seasons.
  8. It might be my bad command of English, but by normal I meant actually the ordinary Cornette show in all it's facettes, which includes the rants on politics and today's wrestling. I always say, I mostly disagree with the "how", but I mostly agree with what is said. I just meant to point out that I was really glad none of that was in the episode.
  9. As a Cornette listener who enjoys the "normal shows" a lot more than many, I was actually really happy how Brian Last and JC did this show. There was just a focus on Bobby Eaton's life and it was incredibly moving to hear Cornette's genuine grief. He truly loved Eaton and if I listen to what everyone says about him, I can see why.
  10. I didn't see a lot of stuff life, a really heavy workload colliding with the Olympics being in a timezone with a lot of early starts. I will keep in mind some bad stuff (like racial slurs and animal abuse by German coaches) and the embarrassing fact that the German football team wasn't able to fill every roster spot. On the positive side, there were the insane 400 m hurdles and lots of fun wrestling aswell as great performances in Judo and Wrestling by the Germans.
  11. I'm a big fan of Bundesliga 2's FC St. Pauli. The reason is simple, I'm a third generation fan and my father even played for their second team at one point in the 70ies. The club had horrible years, dropped to the third division in the early 2000s, but used that time to get healthy. I do not have any streaming networks or such for sports alone since I have a severe dislike for where the sport as a whole is headed.
  12. Joke is on you, IF they get HHH, he will be one of the announcers himself. If they have to, they will make a new TV show for him.
  13. She and the coach handled the situation badly, there is no denying that. It's still despicable how the association downplays the problematic on the concept and structure of the "modern pentathlon". The trust between animal and athlete is the one conceptual part that I can accept by people more in the know as a pro-equestrian-sports argument. I simply don't have enough understanding of this part and maybe it can turn something bad and risky to something the animal is actually fine with. Now take a setup that is risking injury to rider and horse and remove the trust between both parties, give them 20 minutes to feel each other out and you got a dumb concept. I honestly never knew before that situation that this is the way it works. Now allow for a whip or whatever to be used on the horses. You got a horse who doesn't know the rider, a rider who doesn't know the horse and you allow violence as a possible solution. Not caring about the individuals here, fuck the whole concept and the association trying to single out individuals. And knowing how far some shit went, I hope that Annika has some kind of support net of people telling here that while hitting the horse was bad and wrong, they'll still be at her side. Those videos of her and the stuff directed at her makes me fear she might do something drastic if people pile on too much.
  14. I'm not a fan of horse sports and I really don't care about any medals, but I can imagine stuff like dressage being a combination of a good understanding between horse and rider and at least virtually I can't see abuse. I may be biased because a friend of mine does dressage and she explains it well. The idea of drawing RANDOM horses for a horse jumping competition is absolute b.s. It's bullshit for the athletes, and of course worse for the horses. Give those pentathletes a bicycle. It's 2021, what is modern about riding horses? It's still awful for an athlete to experience this, so I think there should be at least some sympathy for Annika Schleu. Oh, and the German coaches are really great at making themselves look like idiots. The Judo coach slapping his athlete should have been the most dubious coaching of any Olympics (although it was the athletes wish actually and he wasn't at fault), but it's downright harmless compared to racist insults and instructions to animal abuse (even if it's a hit in safe place).
  15. His name is actually Gable Dan, which is amazing. Also, that 125 kg final was banana!!!
  16. This is just horrible news. Just shortly after his wife died aswell. I'm pretty much agnostic, but this makes me hope there is an afterlife. R. I. P. Bobby.
  17. And the Women's 400 m hurdles record bites the dust aswell! Another insanely fast race. Sara McLaughlin captures gold, beating the record she just set at the trials a few weeks back. Amazing!
  18. I was pretty sure Warholm would win it, but wasn't sure about WR. NEVER would have thought beneath 46 would be a thing. The times are just insane.
  19. Probably in one of his four Olympic finals...the Colour scheme of the singlet is eerily similar to that one guy who did the same thing.
  20. First Women's Wrestling medal turns into Gold, Aline Rotter-Focken becomes an Olympic Champion in her last ever match. Great stuff, too bad I got spoilered by the replay telling right away what had happened. Generally a good day for the German team. I'm quite happy that the Swedish Women's team made it to the Football finals. Superheavyweight Lopez Nunez from Cuba won his fourth Gold in Olympic Greco Roman wrestling at age 38. What a legend.
  21. Luka is going to drop something like 60 Pts on us. The guy is that good. German team are no slouches, but you just have to accept the quality of the kid.
  22. Zverev gets the fourth Gold for Team Germany. Aline Rotter-Focken is not only a beautiful lady, she is a fantastic wrestler and will face USA's Adeline Gray in the Gold Medal Match which will be the final bout of her career. Fantastic display of skill. It's also a historic first Olympic medal in women's wrestling for Germany.
  23. Not a Djokovic fan, but I don't wish harm on a lot of people. Hope he gets well soon enough. Happy with the German Judo team picking up another medal, bronze in team competition. Good stuff. Also German men's basketball team makes the quarterfinals despite losing two out of three, thanks to point differential. Reason is the US beating the Czechs by a 35 point margin. Now Luka will probably drop 40 points on our team.
  24. Yeah, there is a really interesting dynamic to it. In the end, the overall strongest team should win, but psychology is a thing and if you are far in the lead, you may be better or maybe more complacent. If you are far back, it might demotivate you. Interesting concept for sure!
  25. The name "Blessing" is just fantastic. I love whacky first names, Blessing might overtake Knowledge as my favorite whacky first name. This is the first time I've got some time to watch live and there's only trampoline I find interesting to stick to right now. I apparently missed a pretty good Judo Team Match between Japan and Germany. Damn!
