  1. I can't imagine it is Sugi, New Japan didn't seem to have interest in him when he was "hot" (which was years ago), and after his drug thing he has virtually disappeared (has he wrestled since his brief run as "Dual Force" in NOAH last summer?). Plus Mikami just left CMLL so it matches up. But once a match of his makes TV we will know for sure since you're right, their sizes are quite different. Glad that Mikami had success in Mexico if it is him, always enjoy having a little shake-up in my pro wres.
  2. So looks like New Japan's new Jr. Heavyweight, El Desperado, is Kyosuke Mikami. Haven't heard his name in a long time, which makes sense since he has been in CMLL for the last two years. Anyone seen his work there? Sometimes excursions work wonders for wrestlers, other times they come back and go right back to opening cards as if they never left. Will be interesting to see how he does.
  3. FIrst post updated with results, Morishima defeated KENTA for the GHC Heavyweight Championship.
  4. Oh man you're right, and the Fale/Makabe match was 15, not 5. Everywhere just posted the same wrong times from whoever did it first I updated the post above to reflect the right times on those two matches.
  5. I posted an average quality version of the full show in the Matches thread, once something better comes up in the next few days I will cut the matches up so you don't have to download the whole thing if you were only interested in one match.
  6. I will split up the matches once a better quality version becomes available (or someone else will if they beat me to it, feel free to post it here). Also once a better quality version shows up I will update the links for the full show and make a note of that, this is just for those that wanted to see it RIGHT NOW. 7. Yerp, now that it is 2014 we are going to start having threads again for major events. 8. Just as an aside, he is nuts. One of the worst things with him starting his own promotion is that he is wrestling more since he is one of the few "draws" of the promotions. He hasn't been able to run in probably ten years, he just hops from place to place, and the fool is still doing moonsaults. He is a slightly less crazy version of Funk in that regard. If he still loves wrestling, cool, and at this point I doubt he is damaging himself too much further as his knees are already gone anyway and at least its not his back/neck. But he really really needs to be one of those "fights four times a year in super important matches" guys, not someone that wrestles on normal tour events. I love Mutoh, I still enjoy his matches since his psychology/charisma is still there, but his physical limitations (like limping badly after doing a moonsault) are hard to watch.
  9. Full results since y'all were too lazy to post them (he says as he lazily copies/pastes results from puroresufan.com): NJPW “WRESTLE KINGDOM 8 IN TOKYO DOME”, 1/4/14 (WPW/PPV/iPPV) Tokyo Dome 35,000 Fans – No Vacancy 0. 10. That was posted back in 2010, so I guess no one really cared she was wrong
  11. Don't rush too fast to the television to watch it, the matches I saw were pretty sloppy and not inspired.
  12. Normally I avoid 'serious' threads in my wrestling forum, but I have to agree with whoever said that selling the house would be the best idea if you can't afford to keep it. You mention it is for your child, well if you are struggling to pay bills and get by, a stressful money situation isn't going to make it any easier. To put some fact behind my opinion - my parents got divorced when I was six. They sold the house and went their own separate ways. Now of course this wasn't easy for a variety of reasons for me, but in no way did I care that we moved into a new house (well two new houses). I confirmed with my mother that myself and my brother didn't care at all that our location changed. The whole "family home" thing in general just isn't something I think that kids think about unless the house was built by a great-grandfather and always lived in by the family, which is different. To me, personally, being able to be financially stable to support your child is more important than the "family home" theory that I don't think most kids really are concerned about. The whole conversation is "Honey, we are moving to a new house. You'll have a bigger room!" "Yay!" Just one person's opinion, but since I lived it I thought I'd throw in my two cents. Good luck with everything.
  13. I don't mind if someone starts a thread for it if they want to keep up with it To be honest, I set up 2013 more as just a way to get back into it going into 2014 and get some recommendations for matches if people had gotten out of puroresu during the year. It is hard sometimes to get excited about matches that are just being nominated now but happened seven months ago, plus it took a few weeks for "business" to pick back up since we went so long without this folder. Unless he bails/gets the cramps I think my dear old friend JaeDMC is going to run the 2014 versions as he is more "into" the voting then I am, but I am going to try to participate myself next year. We'll see if that actually happens
  14. Masakatsu Funaki vs. Yoshihiro Takayama in Wrestle-1 Date: December 1st, 2013 Location: Hakata Star Lane Reason: WRESTLE-1 Feud Link: Download Here Quality is quite meh, but it is the only version I have seen so far. They have fought a few times in W-1 but I think that this was the first one to make tape. So enjoy if you are into that sort of thing.
  15. Masashi Takeda and Takumi Tsukamoto vs. Jun Kasai and "Black Angel" Jaki Numazawa Fluorescent Lighttubes Final Countdown Free Fall 499 Death Match Date: October 18th, 2013 Location: Tokyo Korakuen Hall Reason: Part of the Big Japan League Link: Download Here I didn't watch it cuz its like bloody and stuff but I thought some of you weirdos may be interested. But this is the gimmick in one picture:
  16. I'm gonna go ahead and lock this, feel free anyone to use the new Matches sub-folder if you have any matches to share!
  17. From looking at the All Japan Yes/No Thread there have been a few good ones this year, but no promotion is putting on the match quality that New Japan is right now. But keep an eye on that thread, something is bound to pop up.
  18. I count it. I dunno if its supposed to be with how other forums do it but to me a nomination is just a fancy first Yes vote.
  19. KENTA © vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima for the GHC Heavyweight Championship Event: NOAH "GREAT VOYAGE 2013 IN YOKOHAMA VOL. 2" Date: October 5th, 2013 Location: Yokohama Bunka Gymnasium Link: Download Here Not great quality but the only version I could find. Perfectly watchable though.
  20. I did it once, super easy, had no issues whatsoever. I had Verizon, for whatever that matters, but I just followed the instructions they gave and it just took a few minutes. To be fair I didn't transfer anything, I guess that part would be easier to do in store but actually getting the phone to work wasn't any issue.
  21. Since I have a cable high speed Internet connection with no limits, I sometimes forget that not everyone has cable, and not everyone has no limits. I hate for someone to see a match they want to download, but can't for capping or size reasons. When I upload matches I will probably be too lazy to do two versions (unless its a really special match) so I just wanted to see of those that do download matches, what your preference was in terms of file sizes. I capped it at 1 GB since I think that's the limit with mediafire, which is what I use. Thanks for the input!
