Yep I got it. It also does a notification when someone quotes you, which I have no issue with since I don't post that much anyway.
-
It makes a noise when someone posts a reply. That's cute. Now I just have to figure out how to shut that off. Very shiny though, I guess I'll have to learn new things now.

It is funny you worded it like that, as I think if Yoshiko had come back with an attitude she could have still been the biggest heel, but they went the 'redemption' route. Which I am not saying is wrong, but that would have been a way to make her a top level heel. She would have had the best chance to be the Dump level of heel (which I agree is impossible, she was a 'once in a lifetime' type talent + situation combination) if she had come back and was mauling rookies.

I am afraid it will be like Mir/Overeem and be boring as hell, if Mir is on the defense to start then both tire and slug through a decision. What I am hoping happens is either a Mir sub or Hunt KO in the 1st.

2016 Non-Event General MMA Talk Thread
Kevin Wilson replied to Elsalvajeloco's topic in BOXING & MMA
The weight class is the only thing I find surprising. I was under the impression the last fight was at 170 because Diaz didn't have time to get his weight down, which is legitimate. But that wouldn't be an issue the second time so I'm a bit surprised they aren't doing it at Lightweight. Be interesting to see where Conor goes next if he loses to Diaz again, I'm not saying of course he'll lose popularity or anything right away but people do like winners, his next fight after that would probably need to be a little bit safer so he didn't lose three in a row. Diaz again will definitely be a challenge for him. -
I know the history of the belt but its still a currently defended title in the promotion. Io Shirai has had 30 title matches in the last 13 months and has three separate titles, its just a bit excessive to me. They only have maybe six regular roster members that are high enough ranked to hold a title so they just get stacked up anyway.
-
Ha not 'starting to', they've had all those titles since 2013. Although I agree its excessive. I don't think they need three different singles titles for a roster that small.

Salary Cap is a fun double edged sword. As a Bills fan, for years and years other fans complained how the Bills were always 30 million under the cap and the owner was cheap. New owner, spends money, no longer under the cap much and fans complain that the Bills have no cap space. I would think the goal would be between 10 and 20 million under once the free agency spending spree ends, enough to make an emergency signing if needed, with limited dead money. But any team that is willing to spend is going to go through at least a year of cap hell occasionally, goal is to just not go through it every year like some teams tend to. I dunno how the Saints still sign people, its pretty amazing.

The All-Purpose Funko POP! thread....
Kevin Wilson replied to Big Fresh's topic in COMPUTERS & GAMES & TECH
For Stars Wars people's, the Smuggler's Bounty that just shipped has two POPs in it. They 'spoiled' what one was: The other one is supposedly So that's fun. -
Oh I agree 18 million is crazy. And he won't get it. But if Daniel can get 7 and Bradford got 18, somewhere between that is where the truth lies. It should be an interesting few weeks, curious to see which domino drops first.

That's just like, my opinion man. I've watched both QBs, would rather have Fitz than Hoyer. Currently they only have Geno, if they really agreed they would have tried to trade for Hoyer. There is a reason they want Fitzpatrick back, he's the best of the ones available as sad as that is.
-
In Fitzpatrick's defense, the report read that the Jets offered him 7 million a year, and would be willing to go up to 12 million. That is too low for a starting QB that had the statistical year that he had last year. Chase Daniel just signed to be a backup for 7 million, the QB market is just really elevated. I think 18 million is really pushing it but I think he has earned a 3 year/40 to 45 million deal. The Jets aren't sniffing the playoffs next year with Smith, RGIII, or Hoyer.
-
Fitzpatrick can't be Dilfer though, he takes too many chances (sometimes with good results, sometimes not so much). At his age I don't think he'll suddenly morph into a game manager. Don't get me wrong, Fitzpatrick is a better QB than Dilfer, I just don't see him filling that type of role. He was actually a really good fit for the Jets, they should do what they can to keep him or they will probably slide back down next year.
-
I agree, but other times bad movies do make money since they are cheap to make. Some just spend too much, like 5th Wave got bad reviews but probably made a little bit of money since they didn't spend 140 million to make it and had limited advertising.
-
I am just bumping this because we are not talking enough about what an epic bomb Gods of Egypt is. And Zoolander 2. And The Brothers Grimsby. I am usually more fascinated by the movies that fail than succeed. Bad movies? Bad timing? Just bad luck? Fun to look at later to see what went wrong.
-
Reports are that Fitzpatrick wants 18 million a year. I am not saying he won't get it, but he is taking a big chance. If Denver gets Kap and the Jets find someone they feel is a better value, he will lose a lot of value (he'll still find a team but not close to that price). On the other hand if Kap goes to the Browns and Denver gets desperate, he may get what he wants. It will be fun to watch either way.

All they have said schedule-wise that I know of is that after a weekend with an event, Monday - Friday they will upload one match a day from that show. Other than that it is just random older events, interviews, etc. I assume soon they will run out of old shows as they are uploading events that were filmed at ringside by Stardom and I don't know how far back they have done that.

2016 Non-Event General MMA Talk Thread
Kevin Wilson replied to Elsalvajeloco's topic in BOXING & MMA
Ha can you imagine the buyrate for McGregor, Rousey, and GSP on the same card. I wouldn't blame them, I mean sure the UFC could spread them out over three PPVs and get three 700+ buyrates each but having that one big buyrate is good for advertising and creating excitement. Hell I'd be tempted to buy it if I could wrangle up a few people and I've never purchased a UFC PPV. -
I knew, I just.... didn't care that much She has been wrestling in WAVE since mid-2015.
-
Even in the context that Dana can do whatever he wants, which trumps all other requirements, wouldn't Nate have to do... something else to get a title shot in his division? Yes he beat the golden boy at catchweight but he lost 3 of his last 5 fights before that. Since I don't think the UFC really trusts him I would be surprised if he went straight to a title shot from here. I think White will think about it, remember how hard it is to get the Diaz brothers to do things, and put him in a different fight first. But at least his next fight will be on PPV and not Fox.
-
I'll assume my theory was correct, he didn't like the 'options' he had for next year (or didn't have any) and would rather end his career retiring than being cut. I don't think he minds retiring a Bronco, it isn't like it was a one year stop and he won a Super Bowl there. He may identify as a Colt if he had to pick one team but he is pretty invested in the Denver area too.

I am trying to convince my brother to play it with me but he has gotten cranky with old age.

I'm not a Manning fan (my dad is so I've followed his career by default) but it makes me a bit sad that he won't retire. Sports players (and coaches) rarely seem to know when it is time to hang them up. I respect of course it is his decision and he must do what is right for him, but we've seen it so many times that a player stays too long. He won a Super Bowl, ride off into the sunset. I am guessing at this point he is going to let himself be cut and then see which other teams are interested. If he doesn't get the interest, or doesn't like the teams showing interest, he will retire. The only way I see him retiring before Tuesday at this point is if his agent gives him details that he 'felt out' other teams and no one wants him.

I don't think they are pissed, doubt they care on that level as it takes nothing away from them, but it may have encouraged them to do one themselves. It was overdue anyway and seems like it has been mentioned in passing by a wrestler here and there the last few years. Should be fun, I enjoy single elimination tournaments.
