This leads to another question which I don't know the answer to. Do teams always only talk to the agents and never to the players directly? I know that is what agents are for, to do the dirty work, but I am surprised the Panthers didn't call Norman and be like "so hey, we are going to take off the tag, we can't get a deal with your agent" before doing so since he was such a big part of the team. Unless that is just never done in the NFL.

I dunno if I would consider over 100 million away by the time the final numbers are in just "a little better." Obviously both franchises are fine, I am just sure that isn't the number they were hoping for from a movie featuring two different major franchises. Whether that was due to tepid reviews, the general storyline, Batman fatigue, etc. I am sure that is something they are looking into. It made money of course, but it won't be a Top 5 movies for 2016.

More hilarious is saying its on the same level as a woman holding a "Face Fuck me Finn" sign, but thats ok because she probably really enjoys his wrestling also. That's the Internet in a nutshell.

Batman v Superman tanked in the US even harder than I thought it would, its not close to projections even after the second week drop. Zootopia may even re-pass it domestically.

So there is that. Nothing from UFC yet.

Huntsman bombed hard with 20 mil domestic (but 80 mil International), I guess that is not the direction the fans wanted the franchise to go. It still may make its money back if the International market stays strong but definitely not what they had in mind. I think this makes it clear that Chris Hemsworth is not a draw, he better keep re-upping those Thor contracts and not decide he wants to do something different. I know actors don't like being typecasted but if your typecasting nets you 5 mil a year for 10 years (my made up numbers) I'd say enjoy it and retire early.

I've seen this at jobs before (although obviously on a much smaller scale). An employee that brings in the company a lot of money so they get some leeway, and they push it and push it until finally the company gets tired of it and everything explodes. Up to this point Conor has gotten the quick push and full backing of the promotion (not saying unjustified, that is another debate) and this is probably the first time he has been told no and to do what he is told or else. Doesn't mean it isn't a fixable situation and I am sure that they will get back on the same page, but it may be awkward for a few months.

I honestly think that almost very time the team trading down in the first round gets the better deal (if not every time). To go down only six picks and get an additional first, second, and third (assuming the fourths cancel each other out value-wise) will always seem crazy to me and something I'd do as a GM in a heartbeat.

I agree with this, but I also think there must be more to it. I don't think that the UFC would cancel their big main event on their biggest (well maybe second biggest) event of the year because a fighter that normally is very agreeable with media misses one press conference three months beforehand that wouldn't have impacted buys to that PPV in any way. That's why I tend to at least partially believe either there was a money element or there was more to it they had planned than just the one day. These guys get burned out with all the media constantly, it just doesn't seem likely to me that everything else was peachy and they called off the fight just for this.

A bunch of people just got back from a trip last week, but I don't know if Alan or any of the others still post here. But I am sure they could give some updated insight on how to get around for first-time visitors. Alan mentioned on twitter how easy it was to get around even without knowing Japanese (not that its bad to know some basic words just in case)

so JJ Abrams did an interview recently and either dropped more of a clue than he intended or is just causing more doubt before using the "well I am not directing the next movie so who knows?" excuse. Anyway, he said that Rey's parents are not in Episode VII, which if true would kill 90% of the theories out there since Han, Leia, and Luke all at least 'appeared' in Episode VII. But then later he said that he just meant she didn't discover them in Episode VII which isn't what he said... so either someone higher up fussed at him or or just wants to throw out ideas to keep people guessing. I am expecting more things like this over the next two years, they want to keep Star Wars in people's minds so every few months I am sure they will figure out some nugget to drop to make people think about the series. (I didn't put that in spoilers since it was a widely reported interview, and since he isn't the director of the next one anyway it seemed more like gossip/teasing than a legit spoiler)

I agree, but people complain either way, its a lose-lose for the referees. But their #1 concern should always be fighter safety, unfortunately it isn't always. Not that they have evil intent but I've seen main event and championship matches I think weren't called because the referee felt internal pressure to not stop a title match early and piss off the promotion/fans. But they are only human, the rules aren't 100% set on when a match should be stopped (or are vague) and anything that is left up to a person's judgement will always be second guessed.

I just got an update that mine is supposed to ship the second week of July, apparently there was an issue with a part that pushed back everyone's delivery window.

Since I don't really watch shoot interviews or listen to podcasts, its always interesting for me to hear wrestlers talking in their normal voices. Steiner just seems like another normal dude that saw something crazy in the video.

If anything they should be reducing the season back to 14 games. I know that is literally impossible since they would never leave money on the table like that, but it would certainly help their short term and long term health.

I don't think it is popular enough to get its own thread, maybe when the PS4 version comes out this fall, but did anyone spring for the Oculus Rift or Vive? I took the bait and ordered a Rift as I am just too curious about the new technology, but I took the bait late so I won't get mine until June or so.

Batman vs. Superman had a pretty epic second week drop and is projected to make between 350 and 400 million domestic (but probably not hit 1 billion International). It should pass Deadpool but it isn't a lock, should have a better idea after next weekend. Obviously still a money maker and a success but not on the level of the bigger super hero movies the last few years, should land it in the Top 10 for comic adaptations but below the last two Batman movies. I am too lazy to go back multiple pages but I think that is about where a few people said it would land, with it not reviewing well it got the big first weekend but it won't have much holdover power. Not sure where the franchises go from here, I don't think they have announced a stand-alone movie for either. But I can't keep track of all the combined Justice League etc. movie plans.

Nah its pretty much the same, but if Vince fired her she'd be wrestling in WAVE tomorrow I adore Kana but she definitely is a bit full of herself, I also think she speaks in general terms and not literally this wrestler compared to that wrestler. By that I mean I don't think she is saying that Eva Marie is better than Syuri. The Performance Center/NXT probably is the most well run and professional location in the world for wrestling so I am sure she is enjoying herself.

I'm not a podcast guy, but a friend on Twitter kept poking me about doing one with him so I finally agreed. For the first one we just discussed the Stardom event on 3/21/16, current plan is to do them weekly but keep them short (for a podcast) at around 45 minutes. They will be posted on my Twitter as we do them as well as on my website JoshiCity.com. I didn't even listen to it because I don't like podcasts but no one has gotten too up and arms about it so I guess I didn't piss off anyone

Yep I got it. It also does a notification when someone quotes you, which I have no issue with since I don't post that much anyway.

It makes a noise when someone posts a reply. That's cute. Now I just have to figure out how to shut that off. Very shiny though, I guess I'll have to learn new things now.
