    2014 NFL DRAFT

As awesome as it would be, no way that Teddy Bridgewater makes it to #8. If any of the "Big 3" quarterbacks falls that far, I think it will be Manziel. Guy's being more protected than any QB prospect I can remember in a long time. Yep. Happy to be wrong here. Quite happy.

    2014 NFL DRAFT

I don't know, I'm pretty happy with the whole thing.

    2014 NFL DRAFT

Then Oakland takes him at 5. Manziel to Oakland just seems right for some reason. Of course, I wouldn't be opposed to him going at 8, either. I like Bridgwater more, but Manziel would work.
  4. Or Katie Vick, I guess. But that might get a bit awkward.
  5. I am pretty sure their was a Diva's match scheduled because I seem to remember them tweeting out something before the show (of course I am way too lazy to look) hyping a match. It seemed like the show was running way long and they had to cut something and they couldn't cut Adam Rose since they had promoted it so much. ( Well they could have cut Adam Rose and it would have made me laugh and laugh and laugh but yeah. I think Paige beat Alicia Fox on Superstars, which makes me think that it was part of the planning maybe? Didn't they delay and delay on the Brodus Clay debut? Or was that part of the build up to the dancing surprise? Wasn't the delay in Brodus Clay's debut part of a running gag within the John Laurinaitis story line? He kept promising him week after week and then he kept getting pushed back? I thought it was something like that.
  6. It's weird, because I can go into the search box and type r-i-c and it will give me a drop down that says "Ric Flair" or something similar. But if I type in the whole name, the search function won't work. Sort of happy to know it isn't just me, though.
  7. Finally gotten this since I have honest-to-goodness internet at my house now. Is the PS3 search function incredibly unwieldy, or is it just my not being used to using it yet? Can you only search for stuff by wrestler, or can you do searches for events and stuff, too?

    MLB 2014: MAY

It's 1 May, and the Twins haven't been mathematically eliminated yet. Huzzah!
  9. Maybe he'll get the Johnny Manziel "benched for the first half against a team we're going to crush anyway" suspension. *checks Florida State's schedule* Never mind, they open with Oklahoma State. No way he sits.
  10. Mistah Stehrling. . .AHM AFRAID OY'VE GOT SOME BAHD NEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWS!
  11. The Clippers have been sold to Nexus?
  12. ESPN's front page headline says "Sterling Banned For Life" Well, then. EDIT: Beaten to it by Dolfan. I'm not sure how this sticks, but it's going to be interesting.
  13. Dr. Jack Ramsey passed away today at the age of 89. Was a little before my fandom as a coach, but he was one of the things I enjoyed about the ESPN NBA broadcasts.
  14. If it were possible, I would unlike this just so I could like it a second time.
  15. Apparently flex scheduling will start in Week 5 this year. The league can flex 2 games (total) between Weeks 5 and 10, and Week 11 and after can be every week like it's always been. Also, games can be flexed between FOX and CBS.
  16. I think they've done both shows from the beginning. (We didn't get here until early January, so we've missed most of it.) From what I can see from episode guides, they're on season 11 of Knots Landing and season 13 of Dallas. J.R. Ewing might be the greatest character in television history.
  17. Over here we have a channel called CBS Drama that's been rerunning old episodes of Dallas and Knots Landing. Thanks to some of the advertisements for it, I now know that Alec Baldwin was on a couple of seasons of Knots Landing.
  18. Popcorn that makes me wonder how the hell I ever consumed as much of that microwave crap as I have over the years. -Get a stock pot. Size doesn't really matter. Think the one I use is a 5-quart one. -Add enough oil to barely cover the bottom of the pan. -Add sliced jalapenos to taste. If you can get fresh ones, great. . .I usually just use the ones from a jar. Cover pot. -Turn burner on high and cook jalapenos until they start to turn brown. -Put in enough popcorn kernels to cover bottom of pot. Mine takes about half a cup's worth. Cover again. -Pop popcorn. Wait for popping to slow down. Remove from heat so it doesn't burn. -Salt liberally. I don't do a lot of "fancy" cooking, but I know what I like. Hopefully this isn't too "lowbrow" for this particular thread.
  19. I do love some Jim Gaffigan. Also, I don't think what Henry Rollins does really counts as "stand-up," but man, if there's one guy I'd camp out to buy tickets for, it would be him.

    2014 NFL DRAFT

Understandable. But there are also a ton of teams at the top of the draft that need quarterbacks. . .Houston, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Oakland, Minnesota, maybe Tampa (depending on how they really feel about Mike Glennon). If all those teams get too cute and think that they're going to get their guy at the bottom of the first or at the top of the second, then you're going to get the scenario that you mentioned where teams are going to trade back into Round 1 to get their guy and then they're screwed. I'd love to see Bridgewater fall to Minnesota at 8. I don't think there are seven players in this draft better than Bridgewater is, and certainly no quarterbacks that are better than he is.

    2014 NFL DRAFT

Seriously, I don't get the "OMG TEDDY BRIDGEWATER IS TERRIBLE" vibe all of a sudden. Back in November teams were supposed to be tanking their seasons for the right to draft this guy. Now he's not as good as Blake Bortles, Derek Carr and Zach Mettenberger? Really? I mean, I know that Geno Smith dropped a lot last year, but Teddy Bridgewater is a hell of a lot better than Geno Smith.
  22. Of all the teams that could have signed Freeman, the one that does is the one that saw him throw footballs damn near out of Giants Stadium last year. Nassib can't be that bad, can he?
  23. ...and we're back on the air! Thanks to McAfee for telling me DVDVR has a "Bad Reputation". I'll take Things I already knew for $1000, Alex. Jeez, how many years has it been since the sleaze thread? That ain't right.
  24. Is this bad? This is bad, isn't it? In his announcement, the prosecutor, William N. Meggs, acknowledged a number of shortcomings in the police investigation. In fact, an examination by The New York Times has found that there was virtually no investigation at all, either by the police or the university. The police did not follow the obvious leads that would have quickly identified the suspect as well as witnesses, one of whom videotaped part of the sexual encounter. After the accuser identified Mr. Winston as her assailant, the police did not even attempt to interview him for nearly two weeks and never obtained his DNA. The detective handling the case waited two months to write his first report and then prematurely suspended his inquiry without informing the accuser. By the time the prosecutor got the case, important evidence had disappeared, including the video of the sexual act.
