  1. Some Time Machine matches I can think of. 1) MIdnight Express vs Golden Lovers. I could see Kenny and Ibushi being like the Fantastics. 2) Cena vs WCW-era Vader 3) Rey Mysterio vs Johnny Saint 4) Ernie Ladd vs prime Brock
  2. The fans seem to have accepted Kenny's explanation for the most part. I don't think this will be anything more than a minor scandal, Kenny's previous good reputation is helping him out here.
  3. I thought he was a rather generic douchebag opening match heel. The 1st dark match was pretty dreadful to me, way below the standards of what I'd see from a NC indy. There is some sanctimony going on, my politics are to the left of ZSJ and I think some of what is going on is too much. Kenny and Jebailey deserve some criticism for lack of diligence (Even if it's understandable) but some folks are going way too far, and in a sense, are the equivalent of the douchebag fans who try to get themselves over.
  4. A lot of fighting gamers, especially older ones in that crowd as well. Liger was over because of his WCW tours and because he's Liger. FGC crowd also loves more comedic guys- so Taguchi was going to be over. Taichi was the most popular wrestler in the Fire Pro exhibit in the booth. (Not sure if that means anything, but I saw more Taichi used than Omega or Naito) Sho and Yoh weren't over with the crowd at all. and yes, those fans were annoying, and I'm pretty sure the guy doing this was there just for the show tonight and not the event in general. I am worried about Ibushi being sore after last night- I got the impression in the main that everyone in the ring was a bit jacked up by the crowd treating them like All Japan Women. Ibushi was over, and the other three were as over as Hogan in Hulkamania over with that crowd. I've never seen people that over personally- they could have gone 60, did a 70s style match and the fans would have loved every minute. They really need to bring Taichi and Yano next time they do one of these shows.
  5. Just got back myself. Yeah the smarky crowd sucked (FGC part of it was fine, it was the other wrestling fans who were bad). Didn't mind the stalling, Chase Owens is a great , great house show wrestler and it showed. The main event was insane, and everyone was massively over in the main, and Liger was over as well. Hopefully I'm up in time to get mauled in Tekken tomorrow.
  6. A lot of the fighting game folks (I'm also entering the Tekken tourney) are there for the pro wrestling as well, and they love Kenny Omega as one of their own. The Fire Pro folks are here as well.
  7. Wondering what a draw would do for Jay White? I think a draw might do more than a win.
  8. I watched one of the ones where Otto gets the belt back and thought it was really good.
  9. Same way in regards to his in-ring. To me he was a poor man's Piper- great on the mic, bad in the ring.
  10. This one hurts. Vader was my favorite during my teenage years, and he got me to like Sting because of how Sting was able to hang with him. I'd say in terms of wrestler deaths that hurt me the most- Eddie comes first because he was so young, but this comes right after Eddie.
  11. EVIL beat Okada last year, that might have been part of it. He has some credibility, and he is a good wrestler, though he does come off as "just a guy" to me, whereas Sanada comes off as something more. Then again I enjoy Sanada more than Naito.
  12. I remember some Bret/Booker T matches. Bret thought the matches were good. Please don't make the argument that Booker T was not better than Sid.
  13. If it's an open challenge, it might be something really goofy given the event. CEO is goofy in the best ways. They might bring in Ken the Box as Mokujin.
  14. Could you see Omega being a New Japan Dad in 7-8 years?
  15. https://ceogaming.org/ceoxnjpw-june-29th-match-card-livestream-and-more/ Golden Lovers vs Naito/Hiromu Jeff Cobb vs Chase Owens Roppongi 3K vs Dragon Lee/Taguchi GoD vs Juice/Finlay Liger vs Rocky Romero Wish we were getting some Suzuki-Gun, but happy to be hitting this.
  16. Xavier's UUDD stuff keeps him somewhat credible, and overall the New Day is at the equivalent spots of the Bucks in NJPW. If the New Day ended up in NJPW en masse- I'd see Kofi and Xavier being in the tag division with Big E around ZSJ/Ishii-level in terms of where they'd be placed. If they threw ACH into the New Day you might see Xavier as a junior.
  17. Ibushi was also in the G1 last year I think, and you forgot Jay White. Also is Baretta out due to injury- wasn't he in the G1 last year as well?
  18. Now I want to see NBA played with roller derby rules.
  19. Cobb I believe was taking bookings during G1, but he is booked for the CEO show in Orlando. My guess is they still like Cobb but have nothing for him right now.
  20. Only saw the main event, and I missed the first 2-3 mins of it, but right now my hot take is that it's the best 2/3 falls title match I've ever seen, surpassing Flair/Steamboat, with equal quality wrestling, and better emotion/story. I got the feels watching it, which is very, very rare for this bitter old man.
  21. If I was running things, I'd have a stip that said if the secondary belt holder managed to hold it x days and make x credible defenses, they automatically get a title shot within x time.
  22. LU did this with their gift of the gods championship. You have to give 1 weeks notice to Dario (in order to "promote" the match properly) and the added stipulation of it being a championship you had to defend.
  23. I don't think there's a lot of national money an in super-indie promotion. At least not yet. There's no way possible that the All In roster could compete with WWE at all from scratch. It could surpass ROH and Impact easily, especially if you fleshed it out with a lot of LU folks. Also you'd probably have to keep good terms with NJPW and probably CMLL. It would be a process- though I think if anyone could pull it off- it would be Cody. Would be a better waste of his money than Clash of Clans.
  24. It's a Liger/Tana/Marty 3-way I think.
  25. Ishimori deserves better than the Bone Soldier gimmick. I don't think he fits Bullet Club at all. Also ACH had a moment in the undercard tags.
