Kenny and Ibushi vs Naito and Hiromu CEOxNJPW. This card in general (I went to see Liger and Omega) got me back into fighting games and pro wrestling, and led to some life changes. Greatest singles match is Juice Robinson vs Trent Beretta. Worst match involved Jake Hager. That's all I remember about it.

I think that last one was in regards to a transphobic sign some asshole had in the crowd. He was shitted on by fans and thrown out.

Greensboro itself is a great town for LGBT in general, shame this asshole had to help ruin the rep.

Sounds like they think they can make things up over the Olympics. We're going to have a lot of problems these next few weeks (and hopefully its weeks) Hockey in particular is a sport which encourages rapid transmission.

That is AEW's best announce team right there. That match felt like a NJPW Main Event blown up to 60 minutes in a good way. Awesome, but don't do it again for a few years minimum. We need to see a random undercard draw somewhere now, maybe one of the Dark main events between two lower midcarders

Who gets to be Sting/Muta in the undercard then?

He's more Joe HIgashi (KOF/Fatal Fury) character. and John Cena is canon in the KOF universe.

I don't think Pillman has it in him. I didn't see it in MLW, I haven't seen it in AEW. He's modern day Tom Zenk with a huge helping of crappy attitude and takes. I think misting Julia instead of Pillman is a sign they're going to do something with Julia. I don't see TK fridging just to fridge.

did Gordy/Steamboat ever happen anywhere? That could have been really good. And long island doesn't deserve AEW again for a long time after that crowd.

It's going to be impossible for Julia not to end up appealing to that crowd. It would be tricky if they go this route, as they shouldn't copy Abadon or Alexa Bliss over in WWE. I don't think the old Kevin Sullivan stable ideas with Woman in Florida would be acceptable today either. They'll need to come up with something new. A Daffney Unger-style gimmick might work though. Everyone who was misted being corrupted in some way (I don't want Cody with Malakai in a faction though) would be nice.

I love Nyla, but Hayter is a better monster heel, and so much younger. The only act I didn't care for tonight was Bunny/Penelope WWE shtick.

Misterioso is a name, though mostly on NJPW USA shows. I thought he was signed to NJPW.

I'm not sure if Jack Evans of 2021 can be Jack Evans. He seems to have checked out/aged out. I'll think fondly of his career, but he's well past his prime now.

Rami and Steen are going to be viewed as stars related to big players in AEW- I don't think folks will have an issue with them. Gargano they might see as a money sink.

I think it's the Japanese promotions as much as the people who allow for this. My experience with NJPW-USA fans was the folks who were truly fans of the product had much the same apprecation. I caught the same vibe from CHIKARA crowds as well here (or maybe it's a North Carolina indie crowd thing- I think NC crowds are genuinely nicer than most wrestling crowds) I do think it's ok to "mark out" more in Japan in general, whereas it can get you looked funny in the US. I know personally I prefer to just be a fan of the folks I like. Having a rooting interest for SZKG and the Tekkers/Despy in particular made NJPW watching a lot more fun. Made some of the nuances more fun too- Taichi/Naito being rooted so much in Taichi's jealousy and their similar personalities for example.

Agreed on all of those except WOTY, which I give to Rosa.

There were some weeks I enjoyed empty arena ROH more than Dynamite- and made me interested how Terminus will play out. I'm really hoping Josh Woods ends up in an ok spot, I've been high on him for years.

Riho vs Britt was very good. Kingston vs Garcia was great. I enjoy Rampage a lot more than I do Dynamite.

I kinda want Dark Order to break up eventually just so Silver and Reynolds can have a chance to not be slotted behind Uno and Stu.
