  1. One of those guys why I wonder why he never made it in a bigger promotion- his gimmick screamed money. The whole time limit draws make no one look strong- there are exceptions , like Sting vs Flair.
  2. My guess is Pentagon tried to be cocky and beat Puma with scientific wrestling, when he isn't as good at it, and he got hoisted by his own petard with the double pin? That's how I saw it.
  3. That's pretty much the way I feel. I want my wrestling to be fun. I mean, if folks can enjoy Survival Tobita matches, isn't fighting a giant cardboard robot to save the universe and superkicks ultimately the same thing? It's the sort of thing that made HUSTLE, Chikara, and Lucha Underground fun. Hoping I can finally see Chikara next month because it seems up my alley. I can enjoy the serious, stoic stuff, but I think my heart is with the goofy side of pro wrestling. I think that's why I liked Angle so much- he was great at both. Sometimes stuff comes off as flat- but you can usually tell when someone is having fun out there. It's why I enjoy guys like Stardust despite their limitations.
  4. Big Cass is an oversized Billy Gunn at this point to Enzo's modern day but better Road Dogg.
  5. I enjoyed his in-ring work, but he seemed like a guy who was made to work WCW style not WWE style for some reason. He ripped off more than DDP's catchphrase with how he worked, I could tell he watched DDP wrestling tapes.
  6. Not sure if this is the right spot for it, but Kenny Omega agreed to appear and compete at CEO this year in Orlando, which is the 2nd largest fighting game tournament in the US, with a pro-wrestling theme. One year they even had a hair vs hair match.
  7. If you're into SF for the single player content, don't be. It is far from finished. Might want to wait until summer. If you're playing to crack skulls, be very upset. Gonna be a long 2 days for me.
  8. If this was a different era, I could see Stardust vs Sgt.Slaughter being a comic book feud that ended up in the AWA when Stardust joined COBRA.
  9. The other issue is some personal foul penalties shouldn't be personal fouls. I'd argue certain offensive line penalties aren't malicious but should stay 15-yarders. I'd limit it to unnecessary roughness calls.
  10. Well Bobby Eaton does need some cheering up these days...
  11. If anyone would get that rub it would be Owens or Sami. I think this is legit- I can't see in this political climate running this sort of thing as an angle period.
  12. I remember him doing a top rope version in very late WCW or TNA. here's one from 2007 (!)
  13. Actually managed to beat a couple of C-tier pros. Game is pretty fun, just gotta learn how to predict what people are going to do, or force them into doing what you want them to do. Like, my problem is that I took Street Fighter 4 off after Super, pretty much. I really didn't like the Focus Attack stuff and didn't want to learn it. in the past, when I skipped 3 I supplanted that with, like, other fighting games (KoF and Garou), but this time I just didn't play anything. I made like four albums and wrote a fifth instead. So now like all of my patience and execution is just shot to shit. It probably didn't help that I was trying Necalli, who needs to be inside to work, and I don't have the nerve to succeed inside right now. So, yeah. Ryu time. Simple punishes and range management. Back to the basics. That will do you a lot more good in 5 than it would in 4. They cut out a lot of the stupid crap in 5. As for Virtua Fighter 6, Akira did make a cameo in Dengeki Bunko fighter. I have low faith it will ever happen, but SF5 did scratch my VF itch very well. Game has some of the same concepts.
  14. https://twitter.com/TheCauldron/status/694359776067584000 Josh Norman went technico tonight. (Panthers are the most popular team in Mexico right now due to broadcasts- they have a Spanish Announce Team)

  16. Trish would be the one pushed and she's game enough to be carried by folks like Sasha/Bayley/Becky.
  17. Guys like Ambrose, Barrett and Wyatt are some of the biggest victims of there not being a WCW.
  18. Agree 100% I loved it, as did the people I watched it with. Reaction so far seems to be very positive....except on here.By the way, I checked Meltzer's site to get their overall take on the show. Do they even use autocorrect or spell-check over there? I liked the show just fine. Out of 15 things they got 13-14 of them on fleek and the most important thing of them all, they flubbed. So in other words, WCW?
  19. I wouldn't recommend it- I'd say there's a good chance of choppy servers the first couple of days of SFV. They've been running the beta the last couple of nights. I think Capcom is doing everything possible to have a smooth launch, but sometimes even that isn't enough.
