  1. No idea if this is a legit account, but it’s still funny.
  2. I blame Shawn Spears. And AEW. This makes sense to me, since being "blown up" is usually a subtle (or not) critique of someone's cardio. I don't see the term used in wrestling much except in the context of "so-and-so got blown up two minutes into the match". I kinda wonder if "medical center" is used to discourage fans from bothering local hospitals, or has something to do with Vince's idea that wrestlers are supposed to be larger than life super-athletes. I wouldn't be too surprised if he decided "medical center" sounded less ominous.
  3. Playing Wolfenstein: The New Order and enjoying it a lot. Wish I had played the Wolfenstein games a long time ago. The story is batsh** insane, but it works in this context. Off-topic, the Xbox Series X refrigerator is going to be a real thing. Microsoft won some sort of social media contest after promising fans that, if they won, they would put the fridge into production. I've never been into spending money on anything except games, consoles and controllers/peripherals, but I really want one of the fridges. Hoping the production run isn't limited. I really don't want to find out what I'm willing to pay an eBay seller for one of these things.
  4. https://www.xboxachievements.com/news/news-38332-microsoft-reiterates-commitment-to-game-preservation-as-sony-announces-plans-to-close-ps3-psp-and-ps-vita-digital-stores.html Kudos to whichever marketing guy got this out there. I used to be a Sony loyalist and think their console libraries are great, but my PS5 is pretty much just a machine for exclusives going forward. Access to the 360 library makes the Xbox Series X more useful to me even though there are enough omissions that I still have my 360 hooked up. The ironic part is Sony and Microsoft's market research determined that players want access to old games, which is why both platforms support almost everything released for the PS4 and Xbox One. And the Vita was by no means dead. Studios were still working on new games for the Vita.
  5. I've been trying to think of a better answer than Songbird. and... still drawing a blank. She's probably the best answer for modern characters, imo. I thought she'd be a linchpin of Avengers stories for years to come (Busiek probably did too).
  6. Vince banning the word “interesting” has me laughing. I mean, “interesting” isn’t usually a word I’d use to describe modern WWE, but still....
  7. I mostly meant the optics of charging customers full price for the game while Microsoft makes it “free” to Game Pass subscribers. Not great PR. I actually think it’s a sound business decision, though MLB supposedly made the call to put the game on other platforms.
  8. Sony, Sony, Sony. What are you doing? It’s going to be on Game Pass, so it’s not free to everyone, but still....
  9. I’ve heard a few times over the years that Vince was trying to bring Mongo in but I never believed it. Maybe I was wrong. If nothing else, I would have liked to see Mongo get a try as a commentator. Rena Mero or Carmen Electra as the driver seems like a waste of the angle, though they might have been more interesting than the direction Vince eventually went.
  10. So, apparently Sony didn't take time to give developers advance warning that they were shutting down the Vita shop and studios with games in development are left scrambling. Some are canceling their projects, others are going to rush to get their games out. At least one studio is angry because they recently got (purchased?) a development kit from Sony without being given a heads up. I really didn't realize a number of Vita games were still in development. I kind of knew that, because I follow EastAsiaSoft/Play Asia on Twitter, but I don't own a Vita and didn't pay much attention to their Vita release schedule. It seems like the Vita, anyway, still had a small, but dedicated community still purchasing new games.
  11. Would you have brought it up if you didn't sort of think she was doping. FWIW, nothing about that story sounds like a cover story for doping to me.
  12. I’ve seen this promo dozens of times over the years and still dig it. Best promo or Arn’s career?
  13. Show was noteworthy for all the wrong reasons. Hopefully, they have a plan for the Hurt Business because, otherwise, splitting them up was shortsighted. I’m assuming it was done to further cement Bobby as the heel at WM, but I’m not at all certain that this accomplishes that. In general, I feel like the HB still had legs as a heel-tweeter unit. The Riddle segment was hilarious, though, if that wasn’t scripted, and he really admitted he forgot his lines and walked off, he should be kept away from live mics. The AJ-New Day segment brought back memories of the Street Profitts-Viking Raiders feud from Heyman’s reign of terror, but was worthwhile for Alvarez losing his mind over it on WOR afterward. Well, that and Omos’ mauve shirt. Alexa predicting the Fiend would murder Randy Orrin was strange, since Orton is somehow the heel in this feud. Vince has given me zero reason to cheer the Fiend and Alexa but apparently that doesn’t matter in the slightest.
  14. Personally, I've found Black Adam to be an interesting character since Geoff Johns rehabbed him in JSA.
  15. The bit in Charlotte's statement about how short the window is for the women compared to male wrestlers made me think of the time Meltzer congratulated Layla El for managing to stay on tv even though she was over 30 (Vince's line in the sand at the time for female wrestlers getting tv time). Things have gotten better but I'm never quite sure I won't just look up one day and see Bayley off tv because she's too old and Mandy Rose in a bra and panties match. Vince's track record doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.
  16. Is this interview somewhere I can read it. I'm not familiar with Hugo Savinovich. That opening segment was so ridiculous and hastily done, I feel like it must be a swerve. I'm probably wrong, though.
  17. Yeah, the announcement was exactly what I expected. Glad we can redownload our purchases for the foreseeable future. I'm disappointed for game designers whose games are only available digitally on the PS3, but otherwise I'm not going to get bent out of shape about it. I'm intending to keep playing my PS3 regularly so I'm going to load up my PS3 with exclusives, swap out the hard drive, back everything digital up to a fresh hard drive as a precaution, and then do whatever it takes to keep the PS3 running. Hoping Sony addresses the potential CMOS issue in some fashion, but, if not, there are solutions. Not sure why people are using their minds about it. Hardware breaks down. My first-gen PS3 and Xbox 360 are long gone, and I don't feel a battery failure is any worse than the laser wearing out the laser on a PS2 or Dreamcast. I'm replaced plenty of those over the years, or just bought a new console when I couldn't. Guessing we'll start seeing refurbished PS3 consoles with new CMOS batteries on eBay before too long. I am kinda turned off by Sony seemingly abandoning their legacy altogether, but I completely get the economics of it. And a lot of their first-party games have been remastered for PS4, so.... It's another step towards Microsoft for me, though. At the moment, I'm probably going to buy most multiplatform games for Xbox and pretty much use the PS5 for exclusives. It's worth mentioning that Sony is rumored to be kicking around the idea of PS1, PS2, PS3 emulators, so we'll see what comes of that, if anything. I'm kinda skeptical. I think Microsoft's done pretty well trying to bring Xbox and 360 games forward, but there are still too many 360 games that I like that aren't b/c and were never remastered to unhook my 360 (El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. Darkstalkers Resurrection, Remember Me, Street Fighter X Tekken and many more).
  18. This is why I love the first four days of the tournament so much more than the rest of it. First two rounds are generally wall-to-wall games, wacky matchups, and improbable upsets. Most of the Cinderellas have one, maybe two games in them, so the round of 16 - and especially the rounds - after that, usually end up being the usual suspects. Still good basketball, but I'm usually all about the small schools pulling one off.
