  1. Only if they’re determined to kill the call up dead. Don’t get me wrong I’m a fan of his, but I can’t see Brock giving him any offense at all. Now if it had been Keith Lee I would’ve felt more confident in that prediction you made.
  2. In news that I really enjoy my least favorite UFC Champion is relinquishing a belt that he hasn’t truly earned in ages: https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2020/05/jon-jones-vacate-relinquish-ufc-title-dana-white-response-contract-money So to JJ I say have fun being a total and complete moron, and I for one won’t miss seeing you. And good luck if you think UFC will ever be desperate enough to pay you $15 million to fight Izzy or Francis. Especially since Costa might (in my opinion will) wipe the Octagon mat with Izzy before 2021.
  3. The Raiders will be fine since they moved to Vegas, and are no longer California residents. Also isn’t the “second peak” supposed to be around flu season? Which means the November/December games will most likely be cancelled assuming there’s an outbreak in the league. Since November is usually the start of flu season.
  4. They used him as a top tier talent, and showed he was worthy of a push in Vince’s eyes. I agree his Indy/TNA run should have proved it, but if that was the case he would have skipped NXT when he was brought back (like AJ Styles did). Obviously Vince felt like he needed time there. Also looking at my own list I feel dumb for not having put Kevin Owens on it. I don’t see any way he’d have made it as a main eventer if he didn’t get the run he had in NXT first as Vince would’ve viewed him as just a mid carder at best.
  5. So none of the people on this list are difference makers? Roman Reigns Bray Wyatt Big E Otis (who I don’t consider a main eventer, but still) Baron Corbin Seth Rollins Drew McIntyre Bayley Sasha Banks Charlotte Flair Asuka Becky Lynch Because all of them were successful in NXT, and have been featured in prominent roles (and in most cases are draws) on WWE tv. But yeah he’s not created difference makers. Okay.
  6. I’m not denying that they’ve done poorly against AEW as far as ratings go, but NXT is still viewed by quite a few people (I can’t give an exact number since WWE doesn’t publish them) weekly on the WWE Network as it’s always in the top 5-8 most watched programs on there. It’s also produced excellent Take-Over network specials that I think most will agree are better than the WWE Network Specials (or PPVs whichever you want to call them). The last thing I’ll say for the success of NXT, and I realize a good part of it was Dusty Rhodes doing before he passed away, but look at the main event guys on the main roster, and how many came from NXT. Out of the following who can you say would have been a main eventer if it wasn’t for NXT?: Roman Reigns Bray Wyatt Big E Otis (who I don’t consider a main eventer, but still) Baron Corbin Seth Rollins Drew McIntyre Bayley Sasha Banks Charlotte Flair Asuka Becky Lynch The only ones I’d say for sure would have made it to the top of the card if NXT didn’t exist are Roman and Charlotte, and that’s more for who they’re related to than any talent they’d shown when first hired. Everyone else on that list greatly benefited from NXT, and having Triple H and his crew work with them.
  7. Fox isn’t getting rid of the guy that was the main spokesperson for the company when they signed the deal for Smackdown. Plus look at the success he’s had/is having with NXT. Even if either company cleaned house Triple H isn’t going anywhere. The only ones I’d say for sure would be let go are Vince, and his moron puppet Dunn. They could easily replace Dunn with Jeremy Borash. Now the thing I’d worry more about is if the company gets sold, and Triple H ends up with the main roster job, and HBK takes over NXT. I don’t think I can take 30-45 minute main events every week that have a million finishers in each.
  8. My only question (then I promise to let it go too) is this. If they ran MJF/Mox last night, and did the super obvious outcome of Mox wins to retain the title what do you do with MJF? Moving him down to feud with Cody over the TNT title seems repetitive, and like a move most of the audience would hate. Personally I think they’re better off doing what they actually are, and letting MJF win the belt at All Out. Then they can go in directions of Darby, Kenny, or Hangman Page chasing him down, or if they build it up well have Cody go on a dominant run with the TNT belt, MJF gets frustrated that it’s being treated as more prestigious than his belt, and they go back on the Cody stipulation and do Cody vs MJF for the title at lets say Revolution next year (as Full Gear feels like it would be too fast).
  9. The match Cage has is next month. Unless something has changed from the original plans Fyter Fest is in June. Which means All Out will most likely be MJF vs Moxley as that’s not until September.
  10. Out of curiosity how was MJF vs Jungle Boy “garbage”? Don’t get me wrong I’m not a huge MJF guy, but I thought their match was quite good.
  11. How many good defenses did he face last season? The one game I found impressive versus a good D was against the 49ers, but he still had four missed targets, and a fumble in that game. As for your dating Ryan isn’t a big step down the stats would go in my favor. Drew Brees had a 74.3 completion percentage last season, where as Matt Ryan was at 66.2 percent. Those 8 percentage points are huge, and show that Drew throws a more accurate, and catchable ball. Plus he threw ten fewer picks which shows he’s not forcing the ball as much thus making it easier on his receivers too. And in the previous year his completion percentage was 5 points higher than Ryan’s too.
  12. My issue with that is as follows. Six of his games every year come against Tampa, Atlanta, and Carolina. Which of those 3 teams has a decent DB let alone one that can cover a good receiver? 53 of his catches last year were against those teams, and in 2018 53 of them again came against those weak teams. I won’t deny he has talent, but you can’t tell me if he and Julio Jones (first good wide receiver I thought of) swapped places that Julio’s stats wouldn’t be as good or better. His numbers are better, because a) he’s being thrown the ball more, and b) Brees is much better than Matt Ryan.
  13. Keep doubling on it. When it ends up being Marty, and I go 2-2 on my big predictions I expect to hear from you again. ? Especially as you’ll be what 1-1,004 at that point?
  14. I’m surprised nobody has commented on Michael Thomas’s incredibly weak Twitter game yet. What a fricken tool he is. Going after DeVante Parker’s parents just shows what a moron he is, and that the degrees they pass out at The Ohio State Penitentiary aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on. I agree with DeVante’s comment about what’s harder, and certainly with his comment about Thomas being thrown 700 passes a game. Hell Jerry Rice would’ve caught 200 balls in a season if literally every offensive play was a pass to him.
  15. Just like how you didn’t know Mr. Brodie Lee was gonna be the number one contender, and challenger at Double Or Nothing. Oh wait who correctly predicted that, the night it happened? MavsFan77 remembers. As for the mystery participant I see it playing out like this. The first eight entrants are all brawling in the ring, and the timer stops for the final participant. The lights go out (because don’t they always for big AEW angles?), and the video screen goes black. A few moments pass with silence from the commentators then as the screen turns back on we hear a familiar, and villainous laugh over the PA system. Then the screen fully lights up, and we see the entrance video for a certain former member of The Elite and The Bullet Club. First it’s his umbrella, and then the camera pans out to show our favorite plague doctor, and he comes out, and goes on to win the ladder match. And yes I know it seems highly unlikely, but it makes more sense than the rumors of Alexander Hammerstone did yesterday. Marty at least has history with all of the main players in the company, and a match with him versus Moxley for the title would be a good main event for All Out 2 (assuming they can hold of on it until then). Plus from everything I’ve read Marty is interested in having the two companies work together, and I don’t see what AEW would lose from it.
  16. Did his name ever leave the mainstream though? I’m not a sneaker head by any means, but every single time a pair of Jordan’s are released they sell out in minutes, and get hyped for weeks before and after release. So to me he’s still viewed by the public frequently. Plus anywhere that discusses basketball still talks about him a fair amount (especially the endless Lebron debates). Heck next year (assuming it releases then) he’ll be brought up a fair amount again when Space Jam comes out as people will want to compare it to the one he was in. And my last point I don’t think even right now there’s a more recognizable face in the world than MJ. If we could do public gatherings again I’m sure he’d be mobbed by as many fans as he was in the 90’s.
  17. I couldn’t agree more about Fuck Jon Jones, and this is coming from someone that lives in the general area Jon is originally from, and that had multiple co-workers who went to high school with Jon and his brothers. It’s funny hearing how great Chandler was, and then hearing that even in school Jon was the same way he is on Twitter. I remember one day he came into our store when he was visiting town, and got offended that our sub maker didn’t know who he was. To which I said they should have invited him to my department, and I would’ve been happy to tell him what a jackass I think he is (the manager we had on that day was a huge UFC fan too, and knew how bad I dislike that POS). As for the guys that you feel beat him I’d say I agree Reyes beat him the most convincingly, then I’d put Gus second, and Santos third only because of how badly Gus hurt him. I was so pissed when he had nothing for Jon the second time.
  18. I had one of those nice red/black ones like you did before too. The quality of the new ones look like crap especially compared to those. I know too people complained about how ugly some of the shirts those companies put out were, but to me they looked way better than the Reebok stuff. Plus as you pointed out it made the fighters all feel more unique, and like they had personalities.
  19. They definitely (the corner) should have stopped it after the fourth round. Smith said clearly that his teeth were falling out, and you could tell his orbital bone was f’d up. Dana White was rightfully upset that the corner and ref didn’t do more to protect Smith. My issue was as President of UFC, and someone that supposedly values fighter safety why didn’t Dana go to the corner after the fourth, and suggest they throw in the towel? He was standing at cageside, and it was clear Smith had less than a 1% chance of surviving let alone winning the fight in the fifth round. As for why he kept doing that I felt it was clear once the fight was stopped, and he helped Smith up that the reason he kept going for takedowns was to not hurt him worse. The third round was clearly 10-8, and I’m not sure the fourth wasn’t 10-7, so what was the point in inflicting more and possible permanent damage on a guy you respect? Now after reading the twitter comments from the “champion” in that weight class I hope somebody finally lays his ass out, and doesn’t stop until the ref pulls them off of him. He’s a pure piece of crap. Talking shit about Smith when he didn’t do half the damage to him that Glover did.
  20. Well nobody can bitch about wrestling t-shirt prices after seeing those. ?
  21. I didn’t catch the whole show (I’ll most likely watch it when it goes up on the Network later), but based on what I did see I thought the tag title match, and then Riddle vs Thatcher were both really good matches. The main event delivered in a big way, and I’m looking forward to Thatcher vs Pete Dunne once he’s able to travel here again. The one thing I found odd was for somebody that’s so up on pop culture that Mauro would make a mistake with Tegan Nox. Referring to her as the “Captain America of NXT”. The two issues I had with it are 1) she’s from Wales which definitely isn’t part of the US, and 2) her outfit was clearly inspired by Captain Marvel including the insignia on her top. But I did find her attire to be quite cool, and eye catching. And of the pre-taped promos I found Dakota Kai’s to be much better than the Gargano family dinner. I’m not as down on Johnny as some of you, but that segment had way too much shoot BS in it. The America Ninja Warrior references, Johnny poking fun at Hogan’s claims about Andre (Dijakovic being 8 feet tall, and over 600 lbs), and the wink wink BS about Keith and Mia being a couple. I’d rather see two singles matches instead of the inevitable mixed tag match at Takeover.
  22. Some days I love Mark Cuban more than others, and a quote like that makes him my ideal sports team owner. ? Which means I can count on seeing the Mavs play again sometime in 2021.
  23. Somehow the Giants list is even uglier than I anticipated: 1) Eli Manning (117) 2) Phil Simms (95) 3) Charlie Conerly (57) 4) Kerry Collins (35) 5) Fran Tarketon (33) 6) Y.A. Tittle (32) 7) Dave Brown (23) 8. Don Heinrich (20) 9) Jeff Hostetler (16) 10) Scott Brunner (12) Its pretty bad that by the time his rookie deal ends Daniel Jones will be at worst 9th on that list, and hopefully at least 7th (to get there he needs to average 5 wins per year for the rest of his rookie deal).
