  1. Lol, one’s a wild animal zonked out of his gord and ready to kill anyone or anything that’s between him and his next fix… … and the other is a bear high on cocaine, i hope they were name tags so we can tell them apart.
  2. Eh, that wasn’t even his deepest cut. “Know what your dad said about you when he was with me? Nothing. Maybe he talked about you when he was with Seth or something.”. Ouch. The first part was vicious, the last line was condescending af. Roman has gotten a lot better at this since he days Cena torched him on the mic. He’s just such a magnificent asshole, I enjoy seeing the Bloodline beat down people, but it’s going to be fun seeing Roman finally get his at the hands of Cody, Sami, and one or both Usos.
  3. He’s just making a push for the league’s coveted Gilbert Arenas award.
  4. Watched a couple of the Reelz episodes and a YouTube show (Battle Riot 4) and really disliked them both, I haven’t seen much of MLW but the stuff I watched a few years ago seemed much better to me in most every way, i like Royal Rumble-style events quite a bit, but Battle Riot was most boring, imo. Lotta green dudes I don’t really need to see again paired with freelancers I definitely wasn’t interested in. Parker Boudreaux, Killer Kross, and Enzo/Real1? Not my thing, Also, Enzo has bulked up some since his WWE run, but he still looks like someone Jacob Fatu should easily tear in half. Building the entire show around Enzo spending most of the match hiding in the corner then climbing in the ring to opportunistically take a few shots before scurrying away wasn’t interesting to me. And they definitely seem to be building toward Fatu-Enzo feud, Ugh, we’ve seen that angle plenty of times before with more watchable dudes. I am wondering how Jacob Fatu and Hammerstone have gotten stuck in MLW. I don’t think the promotion can pay them enough to be exclusive and Fatu was getting some buzz a few years ago. Did they literally help Court Bauer bury a few bodies? I’m not a big fan of either guy, but it seems like they would be better off on Dark or in TNA or whatever.
  5. I thought we were being assholes on the internet by insulting people because we think our opinions are better than their’s Admittedly, Lacey does have some wacky opinions.
  6. I figured Miro was the heart of the promotion. Isn’t that why Tony took him to an undisclosed location and buried him? Can’t kill the body if you can’t find its heart? Tony probably got the idea from reading comic books.
  7. Last I heard, the prediction for Shazam was for a $36/million opening weekend. A couple weeks earlier, the prediction was around $50 million and the same article implied that figure would be a disaster. To me, the film looks very generic. I didn’t like the first one, though, and was surprised it surprised it made a lot of money. So what do I know?
  8. Since everyone expects Roman to drop the title, I feel like he should retain and drop it to Cody sometime between May and August ( SummerSlam).
  9. People on Twitter are claiming three refs were in the ring holding the ladder steady during the final climb. Anyone know if that is true?
  10. Is banging groupies on the road still a thing? I kind of assumed that largely died out when everyone started carrying camera phones and recording everything for future upload to social media.
  11. Lol, I guess I’m a unicorn then. I haven’t watched more than a few minutes of an AEW show in six months or so. I do read Metlzer’s recaps some. I’m not really hooked on WWE but I watch the shows some and have caught the last couple ple’s. I’ve enjoyed the ple’s. Not sure I would think much of it if Raw and SDL were canceled tomorrow, though. I actually don’t have a concrete reason for preferring one over the other. Just watch one occasionally, skip the other one almost entirely, Truthfully, I suspect if you’re really into wrestling, AEW is probably the better option. Even if I did have a reason, I dunno that’s I’d feel obliged to say more than a couple words about it. Different strokes for different folks, duality of man, tastes great/less filling, etc. Kinda condescending to say “welp, I can’t conceive of someone not liking this thing I like” so maybe be a little more open-minded next time?
  12. I liked the first half of Tar quite a bit, but found it very predictable after her career peaks and she gets me-two’s. We’ve seen the back half of the movie lots of times before, albeit with a white male in the role. Saw Cocaine Bear with friends. Didn’t do much for me, but wife and three friends liked it. A couple of them thought it was really great. We all agreed it benefits a lot from seeing it in a theatre with people. Not sure it will hold up when it hits streaming and you lose the group experience.
  13. Played God Hand and Kller7 recently. Hoping to complete Super Mario World 2 tonight. Planning to play either Wo Long or Ninja Gaiden Black over the weekend. I think I could make an argument that games haven’t gotten better over the past 40 years. Sure, graphics have improved and technological advances allow for more complexity in game design, but I’m not convinced game design has advanced all that much. PS3/Xbox 360/Wii years are still my favorite era for video games. Even with the proliferation of indy games, I feel like we get a lot less experimentation than we did during the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Development cycles are too long, costs are too high, etc. That said, God Hand would probably really benefit from a remake. Graphics are not particularly good, even for a PS2 game. Some of the bugs and glitches are really distracting. The transparent walls (if you stand too close to them) really disorient me. Killer7 still looks great. Cartoony cel-shaded graphics generally hold up much better than “realistic-looking” games from the early 2000’s, imo. Speaking of experimental games, I really like the Humanity demo, so hopefully it sells well.
  14. Given the build, it’s probably going to be disappointing if HBK doesn’t come out of retirement to wrestle Waller. I don’t think HBK is going to unretire, but I dunno that there’s another satisfying payoff. I’ve heard the theory that Shawn will sic Drwgon Lee on Waller, but last I heard Lee still has visa issues. Also, “you’ve made me so mad, I’m going to let this really tiny man wrestle you” is a weak babyface move. if he does come back for one more match, I hope bald 50-something Shawn Michaels has the good sense to retire the “sexy boy” entrance, but he probably won’t.
  15. I mean, Larry Manetti has a comparatively short bio. He’s had about a half-dozen acting gigs since 2000. Not many people have been onscreen with him in the last 25 years.
  16. I sort of want them to kick the rumored Owens/Zayn vs. Usos match down the road a bit and run Jey/Sami vs. Solo/Jimmy at WM. Jey does his “Crow Jey” thing for a month or so, then agrees to team with Sami at WM. Match closes night one and ends with Jey turning on Sami. Bloodline reunite, Owens runs in to save Sami and the KO/Sami team finally reunites. You run Sami/KO vs. the Usos at the next ppv or hold it for later in Spring. Upside is that you get Elimination Chamber-level heat for another B-level ppv. Downside is that Sami fans may riot.
  17. I figured they were going back to Brock/Lashley since the last match didn’t have a strong finish. My nightmare scenario was Brock/Lashley teaming and jobbing to Bray/Uncle Howdy.
  18. Also reminds me a bit of The Last Guy. I miss the PS3/X360 era. Even with all the indies, you don’t seem to get the same level of experimentation you got during earlier generations.
  19. Petrino to UNLV felt like such a weird move that I’m not at all surprised he kept looking for a better gig, UNLV is pretty far out of the college football spotlight for a guy like that? In all honesty, the three weeks he spent there is 21 days more than I thought he’d spend at UNLV.
  20. I think he’s trying to say that he draws ratings and moves merch, so the company should have sided with him over those other dudes who have never drawn anything or been anywhere. I mean, it’s what every entitled guy and girl says when they’re shown the door.
  21. I’ve watched that a number of times and I still don’t see the pass.
  22. My theory is the league office forgot to tell them the game kicked off at 1. Wait till 4:25, Vikes are going to swarm out of the tunnel ready to whup some ass,
  23. Meltzer and Alvarez were talking about Bray a week or two ago and Dave said something like “He was the hottest free agent out there, and then he signed and it was the worst thing that could have happened for him.” Lol. From listening to Wrestling Observer, it sounds like live crowds aren’t loving the Bray segments. The company seems to have pulled back on it some. I dunno that putting him in a feud with Eli Drake is the best way to reintroduce him. ten years from now, when people wax nostalgic about how much better booked the Triple H era was, we’ll be posting clips of Bray/Uncle Howdy and the never-ending Miz/Lumis feud as a rebuttal.
