  1. I want to say two things. First, Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman are just top notch, world class commentators who did justice to the moment as expected. Those two guys could be commentating for AEW if they wanted to. Secondly, hats off to Jay Lethal man. This is a guy who was entrusted with helping work old ass Ric Flair's "last match" and now working the tribute match to Jay Briscoe with Mark. You could see he was torn up and rightfully so. It's always so weird to see such emotion on everyone elses faces, but then there's Mark just doing his thing. Him speaking to the camera at the end got me. Also would love an FTR/Mark Briscoe 6 man team. Really hope he gets to join the main roster.
  2. Put Shafir in a tag team with Serena Deeb. They can be the Shooters or something of that effect. Marina definitely brings something to the table, and I think (especially if they ever pull the trigger on womens tag titles) that Shafir/Deeb would be a good teacher/mentor storyline with legs to go for a long while.
  3. Has Matress Mack won enough from his gamblings yet? I know he's got ties to the WWE with WMX7. (this is a joke. He just lost $7 mil on TCU)
  4. Here's what I don't understand about all of this is - if Vince sells to the Saudi's, I think we would all be in agreement it's for money. I'll get into the Trump -> McMahons -> Saudi political stuff in a second, but if this is all for money then why the hell didn't Vince just stay home and collect his money? He has to be sitting on an absolute load of cash and this is a guy who is closer to his end than his beginning. This company since his fathers days has been a family ran and operated business, and now of all times you want to basically fuck your daughter and son in law out of their future? I'm by no means saying Triple H and Stephanie are hurting in life, but they (especially Stephanie) poured so much time and effort into this family venture only for their old man to say "sorry kids, fuck you - I'm selling to (insert whoever here)". Someone earlier mentioned NBC Universal or Disney and how Vince selling to them would be seen as a "win" by having a major corporation want his company. That I can totally buy. But some of you might say "well yeah, but wouldn't he feel the same selling to an entire country" and to that I say, no, I wouldn't think so. I would think Vince cares more about the optics of WWE and how it'll look when he dies, and to that I can't imagine even him thinking selling to the Saudi's would be a good idea. As for the political implications potentially; again Vince is 77 years old. If he's selling to the Saudi's, we can basically assume he is saying screw you to every other branch of his family sans Linda - which in and of itself is weird seeing as how he had no problem running around with other women for the longest time but is willing to sell to a country like SA just for her to gain political leverage? Does Vince himself see this as a possibility to get into politics himself if Trump were to make another run (lol)? I have more questions than answers, but I just can't seem to understand Vince's endgame here. Is it about money or is it about legacy. At this point it seems to be about money, but why when you're (probably) not going to give any to your kids and could've just given them the family business? I am so intrigued to see what happens next, but whatever it is I hope it's not Saudi Arabia owning WWE. That would be arguably the darkest day in the history of our great sport.
  5. Wait, this could happen? That would be perfect for Vince wouldn't it? Hell, wouldn't that be kind of good for the product possibly as well? I'm not saying we're getting Attitude Era back, but I'm sure part of the reason WWE has "toned it down" over the past two decades is because their publically traded, no?
  6. Kind of ironic all of this happens on January 6th none the less too... Vince really does wanna be the Don.
  7. This shits more interesting than the product they've produced in the last ten years. I for one am stunned that Vince was able to pull all of this off while he's currently under investigation. I won't pretend to know corporate laws, etc. but damn, this guy just won't go away
  8. I love just how old school the show looks from a production standpoint. I don't know if that's because of the dome and the size of it, the lack of LED's, or just the lighting in general - it has a much more 90's feel for wrestling vs. current day and I very much appreciate that aspect of it. FTR/Bishamon was fantastic for the champs arriving so late in Japan and I also believe Dax was dealing with an injured ass. Ospreay/Omega was just *chefs kiss*. I was sad that Mercedes botched her finish and that Karl Anderson couldn't properly take the 2nd Gunstun - but we move on. Narita/ZSJ didn't have the time to be MOTN, but talk about a surprising match. Both guys brought it and I was impressed with Naritas fight.
  9. That has Pentagon Jr written all over it https://twitter.com/buhbenry/status/1538196242152448001?t=JWCM1krPwHUhhHtxeXbttQ&s=19
  10. Episode 375: It's Potpourri Today (Jim Cornette Experience) 52:27 Apparently, Tony Khan is "Krone Meltzer on coke". Then proceeds to play the first video I put out for Cornette which gets a reaction and some words from him. I don't even listen to Cornette. It was one of my buddies who messaged me and was like "did you know that Cornette and Brian Last mentioned you and played your youtube shoot on the podcast"? I was bewildered.
  11. Imagine my surprise about a year and a half ago when I found out Brian Last had brought up ME to Cornette on the podcast, claiming that Tony Khan's promos were very "Krone Meltzer" esque. I didn't know whether to be honored that I had a Hall of Famer bringing up something I did 16 years ago or ashamed that out of every podcast it could've been, it was Cornettes.
  12. Oh man I am so stoked for this tonight. Plan on staying up til 330am ET when the show starts for me. Ospreay/Omega has all the possibility to be match of the decade, and then you couple that with the main event, a Mercedes appearance, KAIRI/Nakano, Karl Anderson probably dropping the Openweight title to Tama tonga, FTR defending and probably dropping their straps to Bishamon. Gonna be a lot of good shit going on tonight.
  13. "Prior to training under AR Fox, Heath Miller, Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall, Cargill tried out at the WWE Performance Center in April 2019. She was eventually invited back, but turned the company down." https://comicbook.com/wwe/news/aew-jade-cargill-confirms-rejected-wwe-offer-after-tryout-performance-center/ They might not have anything to worry about at all.
  14. That's really wild to me that Danhausen is even above CM Punk as far as moving merchandise (on PWTees). I know he's a big fan favorite, but to the effect of being the most sold merch for the company? Impressive. I think we need more TV time for Danhausen.
  15. Billy Gunns "The One" theme absolutely slapped. He deserved to be pushed more just based on that.
  16. Bandido was in the tournament for the #1 contendership. He beat Rush and then lost to Ethan Page.
  17. I agree. They need to do a little bit more to make these Battle of the Belts feel big and special. Going live is a great first step, but you have to have some healthy feuds/matches that will get people to tune in. Maybe this is where you do a RoH vs. AEW champion vs champion card at some point? I don't really know, just spitballing... But just imagine the Acclaimed vs. Briscoes. Athena vs. Jamie Hayter. Claudio vs. MJF.
  18. Pentagon leading the return of the attitude era?! Cero miedo about showing butt.
  19. Man oh man, this one hurts a lot. DW and Tenay were a HUGE part of my childhood and those TNA PPV's back in the day were always must see. It even got to the point in about 2005 where I wasn't buying WWE PPV's anymore and just watching TNA exclusively. He definitely played a part in that. Super underrated announcer. RIP to one of the good ones.
  20. Samoa Joe about to have an Arn Anderson esque run with the TV titles, putting them over massively in the process? I'm so in. Perfect guy for the job.
  21. This was a fun show. I missed a little bit of the beginning, but I like the amount of action we have been getting. Here are some things that stuck out to me. Jungle Boy and Hook as a tag team may be a license to print money. Seeing those two young, good looking dudes in there just makes me think of how crazy the ladies must go for them. Jungle Hook or Concrete Jungle please and thank you. I feel that wasn't Starks best promo yet. Keep giving him time though, last week he showed he's got the chops and as he keeps putting out material he will only get better. 2023 better be the year of Starks. Now we're getting into AEW originals in the main event scene (Ricky Starks, MJF) and I love that. Rey Fenix is out of this planet. I have to assume this is how people felt when Rey was doing his stuff on Nitro 25 years ago. That man needs to be on TV every week. Which leads me to that awesome Falls Count Anywhere match (but I did hear X say earlier it was elimination, so I'm sad it wasn't). AEW does backstage brawls and hardcore matches the best. Love just starting the match in the back. Reminds me of that Butcher/Blade vs Bucks Falls Count Anywhere match from a few years ago. Willow Nightingale. Love that girl. She's awesome. Gives me NXT Baley vibes with the bubbly happy go lucky personality. She will be a star for certain. Need more Willow. The Acclaimed putting out the hottest banger of 2022 with just three days left in the year. Awesome stuff. They really are becoming superstars before our very eyes. I looked up their ages last night and am surprised Bowens is 32 and Max is 33. I thought they were both in their 20s. As good as Bowens is, I hope they stay a tag team for life. Could see them being one of those revered teams in history with enough time passing. Excellent show, action packed. Hope TK keeps putting big names like Mox on Rampage as well to make that must see. I'm liking where AEW is heading into the new year a lot. Also, Omega/Ospreay next week at WK. Bucks flanking Kenny for the match we thinking?
  22. https://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2018/11/wwe-reportedly-has-right-to-purchase-uk-indie-promotions-648364/ I feel like this says otherwise, but we can agree to disagree I guess.
  23. Who's asking for Tony Khan to get a free pass? Meh, maybe I'm wrong and maybe it's opinion based. But Tony Khan has done more to grow the BRAND of PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING across the BOARD moreso than anyone else in recent memory. Most certainly WWE... I mean, wasn't NXT gonna wipe out all the promotions practically outside of the US (and pretty much did for a lot of the UK)? That's best for rasslin? THAT'S my point.
