  1. It was worse than the SB IMO. I’m responding again not to be totally negative, but to explain how it was worse even though Brady did deserve credit for keeping the team together and running that offense. Before it was over of course he caught the pass he threw to Edelman and sacked Matt Ryan the way they called it and the way homers repeated it, all after the damage control that was just as annoying that Kuestar was talking about. It was worse that that lol! Favre isn’t even on the ballot for biggest example anymore since this stuff has gotten that out of control. I say that knowing full well how bad it was with him in his postprime but G*% D@£# asterisk…I’m still not over that. Rodgers needs no further explanation than Tabe’s but I’ll do some anyway. The media made a bigger deal out of how great he was for proving the 49ers wrong by being good, than they made about the 49ers beating his ass every time they ever played a game that mattered. Peyton’s about like Favre at this point imo. It was bad with him too but it’s just been topped so many times.
  2. That last night beat all IMO and I sat through postprime Brady, Favre, and I’ll even throw one in that’s been forgotten but it also happened…postprime Joe (Chiefs). I mean I’ve heard all the butt suckin that they do, and that yesterday was the worst. We haven’t even named all the examples from yesterday yet. Remember this part? SUPERMAN CAPE IS ON!
  3. And the line at the end - asterisk next to the win. That’s up there for the alltime worst ever. A dang national broadcaster talking about an asterisk in a professional football game because the superstar lost.
  4. I didn’t really pick up on hangover vibes or complacent vibes that game. I think the Lions beat that ass and that’s all there is to it. Looking at the Chiefs after the game, they had a desperate look of a team that just got that ass kicked. It wasn’t the same as their postSB loss look where they were more mad because they knew they’d blew it by assuming they’d win. The Lions caught some breaks with the drops and the Chiefs not capitalizing on their early mistakes. I’m not taking anything away from them, but I’ll just add that nothing’s for sure yet. I think the Lions won’t always be that lucky and that the Chiefs won’t always be that shook. Neither team will be out of it before other teams will so they’ll both keep playing hard. I’m glad I’m not the only one who couldn’t stand the announcers good gosh. They’re 1 hair from turning Mahomes heel with their mouths alone.
  5. Add all of that together and I don’t think any of it was vanity or ego. Besides, all SMW was was an empire of dirt. I think Jim knew that but he was proud of it similar to how a farmer is proud of his.
  6. Come on now Jim Cornette in SMW isn’t on the same planet as other certain owner/bookers in other territories as far as vanity and ego.
  7. I like ole Jim. He really missed a crapload of breaks in the NFL. He was a good quarterback and might have been the 2nd funnest guy to watch out there besides Favre that year he made the CCG. Is Clemson losing getting or not getting enough attention? I personally think Dabo has lost his fire since losing to LSU. People have told me I’m wrong. I don’t mean he’s washed, or even bad, but he’s just not* <—-EDIT the same hungry coach. But say I’m wrong…then this upset isn’t getting enough attention lol! This is App St/MI, Carnegie Tech/Notre Dame level madness. Has Duke ever even made a major upset? I don’t count 1989 Clemson who got to whoop up on my Seminoles after…you know…to be ranked 7.
  8. Same as the Mr McMahon character which was an alltime great heel regardless of what you think of the guy playing it.
  9. SMW was good about letting the faces win without killing the heels. They always found a way to keep their heat and make you want to keep watching next time.
  10. We are a good coached team and it’s was unnoticed for a long time. When we give up a play on defense it’s on to the next and just don’t let them in that paint. I was getting a little mad about the offensive playcalling earlier but I shouldn’t have. They clearly planned to save the RBs for the 2nd half and tire the defense, particularly that big Warren Sapp looking dude in the middle out and it worked.
  11. I remember hearing about all this heat between New Jack and Jim for so many years but everything on them since they started doing real shoot interviews seems like they were always aight. Only 2 times when that word was ever used in wrestling? I know there was a 3rd time but it wasn’t “on TV.”
  12. I don’t know and don’t have a clue unless there was an edit. Sounds like there might have been. I can’t wait to hear the story though lol New Jack in SMW has always been fun to rewatch. Very underrated and overshadowed by his ECW stuff imo. EDIT: Oooooooooooo I heard it when I watched it all lol!!! I thought it was over when it went to commercial the first time.
  13. I’m a Florida State Seminole in case anybody forgot, and I’m proud of Deion. I didn’t think he’d be a good coach at all. Celebrity coaches almost never work out, especially in college. As for the Twitter yammer, he’s just messing with the media imo. He’s always been smart like that. I just thought he wouldn’t be a good coach because he would be a little to nice to the players, a little to worried about what to wear to the game, etc. I thought sure he would be wearing his old suits to the games lol! As for the game, I know somebody’s always caught sleeping in week 1 but I don’t think that’s what happened today. I think Deion has motivated that team and that they will go as far as possible with what they have. I know sometimes celebrity coaches get these wins then don’t answer next week or the next time they have a big game or something but that doesn’t look like that will happen with this team. I’m also a John Harbaugh fan. I think they’re just keeping the team motivated through his little thing which is just as important in easy games. He’s just the kind of coach who will never have a good relationship with the administration. Or the GM/owner in the NFL. Nothing to see there really.
  14. The first 1:27 Yeah. THAT’S THE STUFF. The rest was great too but 1:27 would have been enough and it should be done that way everywhere.
  15. That match just had everything that a fight has. Clubbering, brawling, violence, hatred, fear…and dead pan comedy. Funk was a master at it and Lawler was also great at it. The way he shows up with his crown, robe, and wrestling suit because that’s…how he’s supposed to be. He wasn’t laughing but it was definitely funny. And what’s Terry Funk to do about that? Do something even funnier lol! I loved this show but haven’t rewatched it as an adult. I also loved that Ned Blessing Miniseries which has been on my mind to rewatch for a long time hard. I only recently found out the name of it after I’d only remembered things about it.
  16. I never knew about Ox on The Price is Right wow. The same guy who stirred up a rasslin riot is just hanging out on The Price is Right.
  17. I wonder what AI would have said when The Shockmaster fell down
  18. The empty arena match needs no analysis from me because everybody knows how great it is but I’ll add some anyway. When Lawler kick stabs him he goes down and grabs his eye/face and doesn’t actually feel the pain or react other than grabbing it until many seconds later after he’s figured out what happened. That’s good acting right there according to real human nature. What he does next isn’t just human nature, but it’s the human nature of a mean outlaw. I don’t know if Funk even studied that far ahead or if he was just a real live outlaw when he was in that ring but he nailed it. He scream cried so hard that he lost his southern accent, called out for his injured body part, called out for a doctor, then when none of that worked he did what they all did as the last try, he called out to God. So dang great. Then when nothing happened he somewhat got it back together mentally and was able to beg the 1 person there to get a doctor, who he no longer hated and called by name. That couldn’t have been written any better let alone just up and done in the ring.
  19. I don’t know much about Cody Rhodes but I just saw his intro for the tribute and the first thing he talked about was Terry Funk’s “peculiar insults” just like I did lol! Very cool and the rest of his intro was very appropriate I thought. I think a cool idea would be to have an empty arena match and have the heel somehow take out the face’s eye, then have the heel yell YOUR EEEEYYE!!! YOUR EEEEYEEE!!! It’s gone! Do you think we’ll get a Terry Funk set from WWE now?
  20. It sounds like you haven’t seen the sequel Bob and Adam did to that hilarious scene. It’s on 1 of the Comedy Central Roasts and probably on YouTube. It’s hilarious and so it the spoof that he did on, I kid you not, a completely out of nowhere appearance on The Bold and The Beautiful.
  21. This was another one of those times where somebody yelled out FUUUUUUnKKKK!!!!!!!! And you couldn’t hear the N lol!
  22. I just heard. The same week as The Funker. IIRC we lost John Madden and Betty White in the same week, and mentioned that Bob Barker was the last TV hero. Now here he goes right behind Terry. Also Rod Roddy was great too. Such a fun guy and a perfect game show voice.
  23. OMG I’d never seen that one. It’s hard to believe people didn’t fall in love with this mfer the way we did years later, or the way we did with Big Poppa Pump, or those few other heels who were so dang dead pan funny while acting so mad. Then at the same time they somehow act like a potential victim, like when Terry says he’s worried about being robbed. The best heels are as chicken as they are mean and tough and he was 1 of the best.
  24. I don’t think I’ve gotten everything I have to say off my chest about Terry Funk like I have in all of the other threads about other wresters who have wrestled on, even though I’ve said a ton. Maybe that’s a testament. The conversation about Terry Funk’s greatness will never be over. There will never be enough time or enough words come close explaining how great he was.
  25. Ok so the cage being electric was actually a work, but the accident was real. Wow. I’m higher on that match than most people. It was just a fun match to end a fun ppv at the time. They beat Funk so bad that they were able to sell the corner man calling it stipulation.
