  1. There's a little bit of Fat Spanish Waiter in all of us. Edit: That sounds dirtier than I initially intended.
  2. I only caught the end of the show (I'll check out at least Charlotte's promo and the gauntlet match tonight), but my takeaway was that AJ has terrible peripheral vision. And hearing. I dunno how Orton keeps managing to sneak up on dudes. The crowd reacts when they see wrestlers sneaking up on someone. You'd think AJ would at least be savvy enough to pick up on that. Then again, Orton managed to sneak up on the camera man and Kevin Dunn. Lol, the way they shot the end of the match made it seem Orton teleported in....
  3. Question: how do the Wii/Wii U versions of multi-platform games compare to their Sony and Microsoft counterparts. About the same? At the moment, I'm thinking mostly about the Wii U versions of the Batman: Arkham games, Bayonetta, Assassins Creed III and IV, and the sports titles (Madden. Pro Evo Soccer, FIFA, etc.).
  4. What's the import gaming selection like for Nintendo Switch and PS3? Thinking about buying one console or the other this week when i trade some stuff in at the local retro store. One of the reasons i really liked PSX and PS2 collecting was they both had deep import catalogs. Own at least 100+ import only games for each system. Systems that don't have deep import catalogs (N64, Gamecube) don't tend to do as much for me as a collector. I'm really asking about physical releases, not downloadable games. I don't know if it's feasible, but I have no immediate plans to sign up for the online services for either console. There might be a few games that interest me enough to download, but ebooks and digital games have never interested me as a collector.
  5. Playing Speed Power Gunbike on the PS1. Man..... most video games would only be improved by a healthy amount of Engrish. Why "ANERGY EMPTY!! YOU ALL OVER!!” never became a meme i’ll never know (that's from SPG's game over screen). Also, had this awkward conversation with the wife Wife (a bit disapprovingly); You have an awful lot of PS1 games. Think you have 200?" Me (sheepishly): "Yeah... I ....think I have 200." I think i have 200 because I'm fairly sure the actual count is 500-600. It's been years since I've really kept track of the number, but I'm almost sure it's 500+, plus the various variants, limited editions, and imports of games I also bought the NA release. I really want to inventory my gaming collection, but, at this point, it'd be a mammoth job, lol.
  6. That body suit looks like it would be damn hot to wrestle in. And possibly hard to peel off while you're sweaty. I know trying to figure out WWE logic is a fool's pursuit, but, even for WWE Creative, the women's triple threat made no sense. One of the team's (the IIconics) was already in the Elim Chamber match, so they were in the match because..... ? Also, the IIconics were put in the Elim Chamber without having to qualify, for whatever reason. Jeff Hardy being the first TV challenger for a belt made of hemp has to be a rib.
  7. Supernatural is also getting another season. If there was ever a show that didn't need or deserve 15 seasons, it's.... well, ok, it's Criminal Minds, but Supernatural is in the conversation.
  8. I wish WWE was on better terms with Punk. Punk vs. Bryan for Daniel's hemp belt would be amazing.
  9. Fan, but never one of my absolute favorites. Buscema telling a crowd he does't know much about superhero comics wouldn't have a huge impact on me. On the other hand, Marshall Rogers saying he doesn't know what Batman is about would be a "stop stomping on my teen years" moment. My younger self was a huge fan of Englehart/Rogers/Austin on Batman.
  10. You know there are indy wrestling promoters out there thinking to themselves "You can simply not pay people and refuse to communicate with them. Sign me up!"
  11. This. I'm not a huge fan of JB, so it's not a "crushing my childhood" moment or anything, but, yeah, I read the rest of the tweets and was kinda deflated. Did not expect to read that John Buscema basically told the room "Yeah, I don't know much about superhero comics. I'm just paid to draw stuff." Disappointing. I understand the attitude. You can't blame him for it. Lots of people in every profession you can name aren't passionate about their jobs. I love my job, but it's typically the least interesting part of my day. At the same time, I don't wanna know. If George Perez wasn't a comics fan and just drew whatever someone was willing to pay him to do, I'm just as soon not know it. Same way I don't want to hear about pro athletes who give up their sport as soon as they retire. I'm an everyday runner, marathoner, and track geek. I don't enjoy podcasts with former pro runners who stopped even jogging as soon as their professional career ended.... Weird. I feel a little bad for Dorkin because he clearly was a huge fan. As much as Dorkin gets it, it's hard to look at one of your idols the same way again, even if you still respect his work. That had to be a hilariously awkward Q&A.
  12. It's probably going to take me a while to get that image out of my head.
  13. I was more annoyed by the goofy hop on the turnbuckle post then run to the opposite corner. I think the turnbuckle hop was supposed to give him... extra momentum? Or something? Is anyone else surprised Dean never injured himself doing the suicide dive. He looked so slow and awkward doing it, I kept fearing he'd get tangled up in the ropes and face plant.
  14. It’s not nice of y’all to make fun of Seth’s nearsightedness.
  15. Can we Savio Vega instead? I'm glad Alexa is better, but I was kinda hoping she'd retire.
  16. It's not even a particularly convincing photoshop. I thought Francesca retired?
  17. Along those lines, I don't understand why heels enter Money in the Bank, the Rumble, all those wacky four-ways to determine the #1 contender, etc..... It's pretty damn easy to get a title shot in the WWE. If I'm a heel, I'd be thinking "Well, I can enter Money in the Bank to try to win my title shot and and take crazy bumps off ladders, fight AJ and four other top guys for a half-hour, get dropped on my head a time or three, etc. OR.... I can show up on RAW the next night, sit on a chair in the middle of the ring, and hold up the show for three minutes until the heel gm caves to my demands and gives me a title shot - which he was probably going to do anyway to screw with the babyface champion. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions...."
  18. This. I only vaguely remember the eps of The Orville that I watched, but they seemed mostly like some sort of sendup of sci-fi shows. Lot of jokes. Actually, what sticks out the most is McFarlane's character cracking jokes about being forced to work with his ex-wife. And, yeah, Andy Samberg definitely feels like he should be the oddball supporting character on Brooklyn 99.
  19. I feel like Discovery is a still a work in progress, but I fairly enjoy it. By contrast, I really disliked the first few eps of the Orville and haven't been back since. Admittedly, I haven't watched the Orville since about s1 ep 5 and I'm not a Trek fan, so that could color my opinion (in a vacuum, a homage to Star Trek sounds like something I would not enjoy regardless of quality). I'll probably give Orville another chance at some point.
  20. Yeah, Perez is my favorite comics/superhero artist by wide margin. Consistently outstanding art, incredible level of detail, met deadlines, etc. I'm not even sure who #2 is. Neal Adams, maybe? My personal "Big 4" would probably be Perez, Neal Adams, Grell, and Marshall Rogers. I've met him a couple times at cons and own two sketches and some signed stuff, and my stories are pretty much the same as Cliff's. Just an easygoing, engaging guy. Wasn't even sure he was still active. Last thing I remember him doing was the short stint on the New 53 Superman reboot. Wiki says he did a six-issue indy book. Somehow, I completely missed that. Speaking of completely missing things, I came across the White Knight tpb last night. I remember reading that Murphy had been signed to do a Batman project, and that's literally the last time I heard that mentioned. I had no idea the book actually came out. I flipped through the end of the trade. Looks interesting. I'll start reading it tonight.
  21. Anyone still watching Gotham? I've always kinda of enjoyed the show even though it's had a lot of issues it has never managed to solve.Gotham generally looks nice and is gleefully over-the-top. Fun, if you don't it too seriously. So I'm a little sad that I really hate the Warriors/Mad Max playbook the show is cribbing from this season. Only three episodes in, but it's just too far out there and not much fun for me so far. I'll give it a bit to pick up, but I'm already considering checking out. Watched this week's episode of Flash this morning. I like Nora quite a bit, but, so far, this season isn't doing much for me. I'm hoping they swerve us and Thawne is not the big bad of the season and is straight-up manipulating XS, but I don't really believe that will be the case. Along those lines, I think there's about a 100% chance that the metahuman cure gets used on someone against their will this season or next - probably Barry or Nora. I thought they were writing out Jessie L. Martin, but Google says he injured his back over the summer and has been on medical leave, but will be back soon.
  22. I'm wondering if the Rollins feud doesn't continue with Seth getting clean pins since the matches are now non-title? i really don't care either. Rollins/Ambrose has been a surprisingly dull program and I'm even less invested in Dean than I was before the injury.
  23. Ambrose getting pinned clean in the middle of the show seemed odd. I half expect a wellness violation to be announced today.
  24. Meltzer was hinting earlier in the day that there would be a change in one of the title matches, and that it was not due to injury. I assume he'll talk about that more now that the show is off the air.
