I just watched Taz vs Sabu from Barely Legal... probably the first time I've seen that since 1997... and I was blown away by the matwork in the match. Back then I remember we all shat on the match, but watching it in today's era of 100mph spotspotspot predictability it's kinda turned into a thing of beauty.

I don't have any problem with Enzo. He's about as Ricky Morton as you can get in this era of guys really not knowing how to work yet thrown on tv.

I'd rather see him get a tag reign first. Throw him with Ellsworth with the concept that Braun uses him as a projectile against their opponents. Throwing him the strap now could end up turning the crowd against him. A case of "too much too soon".

Those are the types that would have bounced around from territory to territory to not get stale.

Am I the only one that wants the old syndies of Superstars and Challenge? I love that stuff. Savage getting bit by a friggin cobra. Michael's throwing Janetty through the barbershop windoe. Taker getting his hand slammed and locked in the casket. The Berserker almost impaling The Undertaker in the middle of the ring with his sword. Fast forward to the mid to late 90s and you have the north of what it means to "be pillman'd". All great stuff.

It doesn't matter if it's the 80s or present day. When you know your character you are your character. Cena knows his character. He can tear into any one of us at the word "go". Is he from the 80s? He absolutely shredded The Rock on live TV. You just dont do that. You don't make The Rock stutter and Cena did just that.

Al Roker went off the script at Mania when he introduced Miz & Maryse. He totally worked a dig in. I guarantee Cena can cut a promo on a dime. The greats can do that. Dusty, Jake, Flair, Arn, Larry, Bockwinkle, Hayes, Piper, Austin, Funk, Foley, etc... The greats who knew their ring personas inside and out can do that, and back in the day HAD to do that. Hell, I'm sure a number of us here could throw down a promo in the style of any iconic character at the drop of the hat. It's really no different than freestyle rap. Scan your environment, find a catalyst, and work it. The thing with Ambrose, is that when he signed on he thought it was a joke that the promos were not in the hands of the wrestlers. But the first chance he's given to cut an original promo he chokes.

Well, the one that's hurt is the interesting one.

Every worker in Ambrose's spot should be able to cut a promo on a dime. He failed that test. Ambrose's character should be Piper/Pillman-esque. Instead he's just a slacker. He comes off as a slacker even on Total Divas.

I think Brock has shown he's more than willing to do business (see: Goldberg). There just has to be a pay off. You can totally see the Austin influence.

Ambrose just came off as an apathetic ass in that interview. He literally showed no desire and came off as one that just kinda lucked their way into their spot.

This is the first time in a long time I've ever seen a dive to the outside actually taken.
