  1. Indeed, but more than "seems to kinda". I've been well aware of the misogyny for a long time, and I've seen it rear its ugly head from these guys several times. I was reading over the thread and about to claw my eyes out over the "Oh, they're decent guys" bull crap. They were sometimes funny according to my broken memories (Hey, I remember laughing at the first JCW tape when I was younger and I certainly remember Tarek the Great and Truth Martini as Doink and Doink), but occasionally creating a laugh and paying Terry Funk well (and we do all love Terry Funk) doesn't excuse being a scumbag. The Awesome Bomb + bus fall is still a clip filled with fond memories of early Botchamania for me, back when things seemed simpler. It was a couple of sweet bumps from one of two untrained guys who were surprisingly pretty good at taking gross bumps to make you wrinkle your brow. Probably the most positive thing I can say about these guys in modern times - Pretty good at taking gross bumps to make you wrinkle your brow.
  2. When Bo ran over Torito, I summed up my feelings on pro-wrestling with my reaction, and I quote: "He is such a dick! I love him!" In other news, my boyfriend Ambrose is still the best thing ever. By the way, pretty sure that was Orton's botch. Wasn't he supposed to dropkick Ambrose out of the air? I actually wondered if something was wrong with Orton afterward and was concerned over it.
  3. Two beautiful and angry poems (though the audience wouldn't just SHUT UP and appreciate them, of course!):
  4. To be honest, I jumped on the Batista bandwagon the moment he turned heel again and I was sad to see him go. I loved the "DEAL WITH IT" and I still quote his DUCT TAPE freak-out every day. EVERY DAY. I'm sorry. No, I'm not sorry; that wave was amazing.
  5. I did like that Sandow was getting surprisingly large babyface reactions to his ribbon gymnastic stuff. Has the audience embraced Sandow's zaniness? I don't know if management wanted that.
  6. So Raw was kind of crap other than SHIELD, Rollins, the main event, and Sheamus/Barett, but that's okay. I'm just having fun clicking "Like This" on posts that compliment AMBROSE and I don't even bother reading the rest of the posts. All I see is Ambrose and his entourage. And when maniac Ambrose dropped the microphone after his GREAT promo? Reigns looking at it and Dean picking it up, followed by the smiles between them...? Cutest moment. I condemn anyone who didn't love it.
  7. Stan Hansen is basically the best wrestler ever. That match with Kobashi is still awe-inspiring.
  8. I don't usually post in topics like this, but this time I think I will. I grew up watching him as Drop Dead Fred. Later I saw his stand-up comedy and his part in Young Ones. He was (and still is) hilarious. RIP. "Five minutes to go till the most important party of my life and half the house has been wrecked by a gigantic sandwich!" I now leave you with his fine and very memorable poem: "THATCHER!"
  9. NO NO NO. I believed in the SHIELD! Damn it...
  10. A little late. Why did only one person mention Cena/Rowan? I thought Rowan did a great job and it's a shame he didn't get praise. We knew he was good in teams with Bray and Harper, but this match showed he can stand alone and be good, too. He fully understands what it means to be a big lug and gets the best out of it. He's a great contrast to Harper. Harper brings the crazy athletic Barry Windham stuff. Rowan just walks in and starts trying to crush people's heads and ram people's heads into walls and whatnot. He's huge and he understands how to use that to hurt people. He does it well. I like it.
  11. Rollings v. Batista. Cena v. Harper. Bray Wyatt with one of his best promos yet. Alicia Fox's celebration. Reigns' simple but wonderful "I put him there". Lots of great bits to love on this show. But my favorite thing was still Ambrose on commentary. It's almost unfathomable how great a speaker he really is (and I think he's a top five wrestler in the company, too). When he retires from wrestling he can be a commentator full time.
  12. I already knew Ambrose was an anime character by the facial expressions he does. But to learn he's a hentai character? Something else! And obviously he brings the the titty masters and thigh masters together in peace. That's just one-oh-one. What isn't so obvious is why they all turn against him and how he reacts to it.
  13. I forgot to mention that Sandow has committed a travesty most egregious in referring to a microphone as a "talking stick". What a sacrifice of his linguistic dominance in favor of plebeian simplicity. One would think his entire character a facade. Brie's acting wasn't horrible? Sort of, right? Stephanie's face as the ambulance left! ~
  14. Well, I pronounce the "t" in often because it has a "t" sound in it, you know, like oft and it's correct. Ambrose pronounces the word right too because he's a great man, no, the GREATEST man and I hope to be like him when I re-grow up. Who said SHIELD wasn't dominating in this feud with Evolution again? Alicia Fox was super great.
  15. You mean he's going to score a clean pin over The Undertaker but not before he main events a ppv world title match after a lengthy undefeated streak over a bunch of credible names? Probably closer to being in a comedy team with Santino before being released. I liked that team. Santino had something to do and WWE always needs teams. They shouldn't have released Kozlov.
  16. Yeah! The latter team was called "Naturally Marvelous" if I remember correctly (for their nicknames "Black Nature Boy" Scoot Andrews and "Marvelous" Mike Sullivan). They probably say it in the video, though. If I also remember correctly, Andrews, Sullivan, and Billy Fives had a three-way match more than a few years back (maybe a decade ago now; the time does fly by) here in Florida that was billed as Andrews' retirement match. So, that's what happened to Andrews. Some of the IPW Hardcore alumni who appeared in WWE, TNA, or RoH over the years, off the top of my head, include Antonio Banks (MVP), Erick Stevens, Mikey Batts, Jerrelle Clark, Mike and Todd Shane, and, of course, the aforementioned Roderick Strong. I always wondered what happened to Sedrick (apparently not actually Roderick's brother). EDIT: Apparently Scoot Andrews was on RoH's first show! Neat. Also on Raw and Smackdown! Can't say I remember that.
  17. I forgot to mention it before, but during (I think it was) last week's RoH show, I actually turned it on as Roderick was yelling for "Cedric". As I watched IPW Hardcore every week back in 2002 or whenever, I was shocked and just said aloud, "No way! Sedrick Strong in RoH?" It turned out to be Cedric Alexander, but they had me going for a moment. I don't know how many people know who Sedrick Strong is...
  18. All I remembered after the show was the six-man match and all three SHIELD matches. Afterward I was forced to remember poor Emma having to use the stupid pink sock. It's a little weird that Mark Henry of all people has become the kayefabe weakest of the three SHIELD opponents featured on the show. He's due for a resurgence and Bryan needs challengers, so bring the heel turn! Best match was Ambrose/Sheamus. Sheamus is very good (and underrated by many) and Ambrose is the BEST just as he ALWAYS is. Ziggler doesn't take the Brogue Kick even half as well as Ambrose does. Think about that.
  19. That final segment... Tenay still seeming like he isn't really into the action he's calling + MVP turning ALREADY + the HORRIBLE fake boos (sounded more like a tornado hitting the place) = I prefer to remember the Menagerie as the highlight of the show. Knux really needs to be dressed as a circus ringmaster, though. Please tell me Crazzy Steve is awesome in the ring. Something that stood out to me about the Bromans and Wolves match is how dumb the Wolves wrestle. They both dove headfirst into the ladder instead of dropkicking it. They both climbed up the same ladder at the same time, maximizing their chances of being knocked off (when one of them could have been stopping the Bromans). Richards headbutts a guy while up on a ladder, making himself dizzy WHILE ON A LADDER when he could have more easily punched the guy. Edwards flips himself out of the ring with the suplex, looking like he damages himself more than his opponent... Did I miss anything? The real stunner though is Zema Ion. Didn't TNA refuse to pay his medical bills before? Why is he taking such an INSANE bump like that? I was mouth agape. I don't get the Bram character. I know I'm supposed to be patient, but this is TNA. "I do not fear Magnus's reign, for I have an umbrella!" I really liked that for some reason, but then I also like Willow for some reason. I really like Eric Young as champion. Probably means he'll lose it soon. I'm going to miss Daniels and Kazarian. I sound so negative. Oh, and if anyone is going to be a "Shield" group in TNA (to oppose their fake Evolution), it'll probably be Roode, Bully, and Aries.
  20. And I think we all secretly love the WCW Chamber of Horrors.
  21. At the end of the battle royal, I was prepared to see Ambrose win and I was SO deflated when Sheamus threw him out. I just audibly went, "Aww." Then I was silent for a while. Well, he still takes the Brogue Kick better than ANY person, and he's still the BEST guy in wrestling anyway, and he still has the longest US title reign in WWE's history. Hold me... Later, when Shield lost the main, I bit my lip. Ah, well. it was a fine match with an uninterested crowd. That weak crowd is why I think Adam Rose will be fine, too. He just needs an audience that isn't totally depressed after seeing their hero Ambrose lose his belt. Don't worry, people. TM Dean will win the WWE WHC in time.
  22. If you want to convince people you're right, you shouldn't supply an excellent Ambrose picture with your post. It makes you seem like you're joking. Wait... Are you joking? I admit I can't tell sometimes. I love the way his lower jaw seems to be recessing into his neck. Also, his eyes and the way they seem to be wide open and yet shrunken at the same time. Amazing.
  23. I'm going to take a break from Ambrose praise to say the following: Heath Slater was so excellent the way he stared into the face of death (ROMAN REIGNS!) while his companions were destroyed in the background by Ambrose and Rollins. He was both too afraid to look at the destruction and too afraid to look away from Reigns simultaneously! It deserves praise. I give Slater praise. Okay, break's over. Dean Ambrose is spectacular.
  24. This is probably the best Smackdown ever. You know why. They killed fools all night. Don't pretend you don't know. It's like I was in wrestling heaven. And Ambrose launching over the couch is the perfect cream on the cupcake to Maddox's scene of death. By the way, anyone speaking ill of Ambrose's wonderful cartoon face really should know how much the ladies love him. The swarm of Internet pages devoted to how cute and/or handsome he is will attest to that. Stop living in denial, people. A lot of good talking tonight from Wyatt (who is the best talker in the company now), Dutch, Heyman, too. Very glad WWE decided to let Barrett escape the pummeling, though. He doesn't need to be crushed in the midst of what is probably a big push for him.
  25. Sounds kinda WKO-ish, but which board are you referring to? I actually don't know what WKO stands for. The place I was talking about was just a cruddy Yahoogroups thing back from when I thought those groups were all that. It probably doesn't exist anymore (well, it was a decade ago or so). Not that I didn't get booted/run off from bigger forums (some deserved, some undeserved) in my time. I've always particularly liked the Stevie Richards/Terry Funk/Sandman 3-way dance in ECW. It's on Dailymotion, but it won't let me link it.
