  1. The Blackhawks trading away Tyler Arnason, Mark Bell, and Kyle Calder in 2006 drew a lot of moaning from hardcore fans about how the future of the team had been flushed down the toilet, as the ABC line was supposed to have led us to greatness. Fast forward eight years, and none of those players are still in the NHL, while Chicago has won two Stanley Cups in past four years with ACTUAL blue-chip prospects who lived up to the hype.
  2. Sanogo looked alright. If Allen weren't an overpriced pet of Rodgers', I'd say he'd be a good heir to the Arteta role. Suarez made things interesting when he traded places with Sturridge, Coutinho was isolated well enough. Not very good officiating all around, but the first penalty was the opposite of Pantera, and Gerrard was lucky to have stayed on the pitch. Podolski really should be in the team more often than not, as he has a knack of being involved in goals (even if he isn't as silky as Cazorla/Özil Am I the only one surprised that Flamini has only been booked on 7 occasions this season?
  3. That was actually exceptional selling by Webb, I thought. Charles Robinson-esque.
  4. Hey, Suarez hasn't acted like a total cunt recently - will someone check on him? Ah, that's more like it.
  5. They're other people's last names. How many people do you know with the last name Aurora? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagjit_Singh_Aurora
  6. I never said they weren't popular, I just thought they might be in a lot of people's top three, top five, but not actually be number one. In fact every band I've listed is very good or better, and they've made more money than I will ever see, but wasn't sure if they were any one's favorite all time band. Except for the Stones, I just fucked up there. How about Wings? I know alot of people love mccartney but would they prefer his singles stuff to the beatles? Or how about the Traveling Wilburys? The two albums are classics but might not make all time favorite status. . . I don't want to meet the person who loves Paul McCartney and thinks "sure, The Beatles stuff was good, but he didn't really peak until Wings." I mean, I'm sure that person exists, I just don't want to know them.
  7. I find myself actually of being in overall support of Antacular's original position regarding it making ethical sense for the WWE to avoid featuring OTE 99 on the Network. However, the pomposity of his inability to realize that others may not be predisposed to agree with him (for a variety of reasons OTHER than "they are a bad person"), coupled with the majority of his arguments in "defense" of his position being a semantics about morals vs. ethics and name-dropping philosophers finds me enjoying everyone taking the piss out of him in this thread. Even if you are correct, being a dickhead about it doesn't endear one to most (a lesson I've learned many times over).
  8. Yeah, there's really no reason that the power struggle between Reigns and Ambrose can't just result in Ambrose becoming the Starscream to Reigns' Megatron.
  9. I think it was a calculated move to attract attention for an upcoming paid game. His next game is going to immediately have a lot of eyeballs on it and speculative buys, even if it is a comparative flop.
  10. If Arsenal was going to have another embarrassing Y U NO DEFEND? performance, I'd rather it be away against Liverpool before this difficult stretch of games, than towards the end of the season. Contrary to the generally-accepted talking point that Arsenal always bottles it at the end of the season, the past couple of seasons have seen them finish stronger than any other team in the league. Hopefully Wenger can use this to galvanize the team in time to thrash Man Utd at home on Wednesday, as a big win against them would restore a lot of confidence (and I'm not sure they have ever looked more ripe for pickings).
  11. People Who Don't Watch Reality Shows Obsessively and Aren't Wrestling Fans: who is Stacy Kiebler?
  12. Strong words on Omaha coming from one who resides in IDAHO.
  13. Are you really telling me that you value the 60 to 90 or so seconds of coverage it would garner on a show like Extra! and a few blurbs in tabloid rags like US Weekly as being worth millions? She is George Clooney's ex and a reality show finalist, and that's it. She isn't in the mainstream - her modicum of attention came as an exceedingly-brief fluke in spite of her connection to wrestling, rather than because of it. After Dancing with the Stars, the only reason she hadn't fallen off the Hollywood radar completely was due to her relationship with Clooney. Unless she hooks up with another major star, they'd be better off just buying a prime-time commercial on a major network. The demographic that likes Dancing With the Stars and that "who's dating who in Hollywood" bullshit will not suddenly tune in and become enamored with Bray Wyatt or the Elimination Chamber.
  14. I really don't feel as though I miss anything worth watching by only catching the 90-minute Tuesday replay on Hulu. If anything, I probably end up watching more wrestling overall (as back when I would DVR RAW I would inevitably fast-forward through most of it and probably missed some decent segments/matches here and there).
  15. Are you kidding? E! would absolutely, positively love to have her on the Divas show. That would be huge for that show, just gigantic. If Stacy Keibler came back to the WWE, she'd never wrestle a second. She could either just be a valet type who doesn't wrestle and no one would bring it up that she doesn't, or she'd be a heel type who claims she's too good to wrestle like the rest of these tramps. She could also feud with Summer over being on "Dancing with the Stars." There's a lot of reasons why Stacy Keibler would be a huge "get" for the WWE. An upgrade for a third-rate reality show on basic cable and a feud with Summer over Dancing with the Stars? You're absolutely right, this will do major blockbuster business for the WWE!!!!
  16. But for the post and crossbar, it could have easily been 0-4 to Chelsea.
  17. I'm not really sure what anyone was expecting for that Emma dancing segment for it to have been considered good. They introduced a relative unknown to RAW with the apparent gimmick of being an awkward dancer in a dance off against a heel who flaunts their dancing ability. All things considered, quiet confusion from a crowd that isn't exactly located in a wrestling hotbed is about as likely an outcome as to which one could have aspired. By my scale, shitting on something by the crowd = outright hostility/booing. Like, for instance, Batista's Royal Rumble win. This was a throwaway segment that fell a little flat. Let's try to rein in the overreaction and extreme hyperbole, yeah?
  18. Losing Aguero for a stretch could potentially be a bit of a blow for City's hopes to tip over Mourinho's parked bus.
  19. ...seriously? Is that Von Erich standing in for Warrior there? The blond? I figured it was a younger, fatter HBK. Is this real life?
  20. That's just...I cannot fathom the logic. Is Xzibit his agent?
