  1. Hi! I'm still out here making a podcast with my friends. (short pitch: dial Bob for bad is a show about film and resolve. my friends have poisoned a netflix account (Bob) with hideous movies. half our episodes are stories about this big dumb grave of a city, the other half are commentary tracks for the movies from Bob's recommended queue) We had an idea about an excursion- a summer vacation of sorts- and now I present the results, complete with a photo gallery and a collection of videos. Here is our tale of the San Diego stop of the final Vans Warped Tour.
  2. There's a beat tape record label on bandcamp called Paxico Records and I listen to everything they put out at least once. I tend to keep it to myself though cuz I know that I'm maybe weird for just listening to beat tapes by themselves and whatever. I have to break that tradition because the new Swarvy record, "Anti-Anxiety," is some magic, so please check it out.
  3. Not yet, no. Had to divert all resources to getting the PS4 version out in time. They'll get back to it.
  4. Good interview of the director at Crunchyroll. Most interesting part to hear was that Fire Pro Returns sold five times as much in the US as it did in Japan, which even accounting for the population size difference blows my mind. At least they got the message loud and clear that us idiots are out here willing to buy the game like two-four times just to prove a point.
  5. Is the Deftones Cover Band's singer's voice as shot as Chino's is? because it's not authentic otherwise.
  6. as a southern california resident who is not a lakers fan, UGH.
  7. worth noting that this is a description of how the game launched and not how it currently is, but yeah, SF5 had a brutal goddamn launch that seems spurred by a shortened schedule influenced by both Capcom and Sony's need for it to be a hit and to be a hit soon after release. It wasn't. Thank god MHW overperformed, otherwise Capcom would've been well and truly fucked. also, I'm not defending it- I've burned out on it this year and have been desperate for a new fighting game. Just trying to clarify.
  8. So I've been of the opinion that Death Grips has really been suffering since losing their mystique and becoming Just Another Band, but all of a sudden they have a new album that has some of the best songs they've ever put out. It's called Year of the Snitch and you can hear it in full here. I'm doing the text link to spare everyone who may not be interested from the cover art, cuz it nasty.
  9. fingers crossed that it's reversable so I have a cover option that's not Kenny Omega Fingerguns At Me
  10. Here is a horrific thing to invoke, that I'm willing to take awful awful horrible credit for: we're kind of running out of Decade here, so I was wondering about how we'd handle a best of the decade thing around these parts. The thing is, I don't know that enough people can justify making a list of like 50 or whatever. If I'm wrong, someone else can do that, because ultimately I don't want to. What I was thinking about doing instead was polling people for interest and submitting a top one-to-three albums of the decade, building a DVDVR Canon of That Decade, and then have people make a ballot out of those records. There's a third option that might give DeathFromAbove flashbacks: we could also totally skip the albums and just do a decade songs tournament. I don't know that I'd be willing to run this. Either way, just things floating in my mind to convince me to be invested in the future. Any thoughts?
  11. ahh, aero star. I remember when he was first starting to come to prominence I would joke with one of my friends that there was an hourglass somewhere counting the time before Aero Star wiped out bad on either that headfirst tope or his trustfall senton. When that footage got out it was like a shining diamond. bless him.
  12. hi just stopping in to say yeah what he said play sleeping dogs sleeping dogs is amazing
  13. FINAL RANKING OF REVEALED GAMES I WOULD LIKE TO PLAY THAT WERE SHOWN DURING ACTUAL E3 PRESS CONFERENCES SO THAT'S WHY HITMAN 2 AND DEAD OR ALIVE 6 AREN'T ON THIS LIST 1. Trials Rising 2. Nioh 2 3. Sekiro - Shadows Die Twice 4. Babylon's Fall (always down for Platinum and I will not apologize) 5. DOOM Eternal 6. Control 7. Killer Queen Black (only last because I'm worried I wont be able to get friends together to play it) AN UNORDERED LIST OF OBSERVATIONS FROM THE MONDAY PRESS CONFERENCES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THE IMAGE THAT I DON'T LIKE FUN -everyone flipping out about the Last Of Us 2 kiss fatigues me. Never mind about representation being used to avoid having to actually employ progressive hiring processes, that's all the obvious stuff. It's that this is from a studio that not nine months ago swept sexual harassment allegations under the rug with a weak ass statement about how their HR department didn't see anything. It's almost like the producer accused was a more valuable human resource than the victim! So seeing a bunch of people that claim progressivist stances let them off the hook because of a CG kiss? Fatiguing. -Ghost of Tsushima looks shit hot and I have been waiting for a long time for a game about the Mongols, but God of War ruined my ability to deal with Western-Developed Loot-Driven Violent Mopefests. I need to know that there is not crafting or loot before I commit to playing it. Also it would be nice if there was a way to change the character voices to Japanese so I don't have to listen to an entire game of voice actors doing their best Ken Watanabe. Then again, given that their presentation opened with a flute solo from some UCLA Musicology Professor, I've got my doubts that they're interested in doing something like that. -i love how much of a trainwreck the ubisoft conference always is, even with the knowledge that if anyone is actually going to support their multiplayer games long into the future it's them. Also it's nice of them to make sure I have zero interest in Beyond Good & Evil 2 with their Gig App Art Asset Bullshit. -I also love how Square isn't pretending that the FF7 remake isn't just the new Kingdom Hearts 3 as far as "Here comes fifteen years of trailers."
  14. cool that prey got an update hell yeah more doom pass on everything else
  15. That was a fun show. The only thing I saw that I was even partially motivated to play was From Software's Grappling Hook Souls, which looks a lot like they saw Nioh (the best souls game ever made fight me) and said "OH YEAH?!?!" so I'm down for the arms race. Halo Infinite has to have battle royale stuff right
  16. medical malpractice might kill my adopted sister this week
  17. am I weird for being disappointed that it's not episodic? I liked having a single mission to sit around in and pick apart piece by piece. I will totally own that as a weird thing, I just want to know.
  18. the giant bomb streams are usually good for that. although for the last few years I've actually just done voip calls with my friends and made fun of it with them instead
  19. lol anyways, my hopes for the whole show are release dates for Eitr and Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition, and also for that leak showing Killer Queen* for Switch being real. Dragon Quest XI already has a date, and I'm still just playing Siege and Zelda so I can't imagine any major publisher's game moving me. But, I've been wrong about that before, so, who knows. oh and anything at all about UFO 50 would be nice *for every reasonable human on here that is not as deep down these awful rabbit holes as I am, Killer Queen is a 10-player indie game that's played on two enormous five player arcade cabinets. It's like super complicated Joust and Capture the Flag that also has multiple win conditions. If they're coming up with a home version I am fuckin STOKED.
  20. Everything I've seen makes that game's story look Weapons-Grade Stupid, but if you're into it for Choose Your Own Adventures and can get down with "HARK, A ROBOT RACIST" Campiness then you oughta be fine. Is worth nothing there's a pretty fukin brutal sounding torture sequence so if that's an Auto DQ for you like it is for me, there's your warning.
  21. HI HOLY FUCK IF YOU HAVE EVER TRUSTED ME TRUST ME NOW
  22. On the Phillies subject, even though they got worked over tonight, they did manage to significantly beat their record in May last year. 2017: 6-22 2018: 14-10 I'm takin' all the silver linings I can get my hands on, because I figure losing Rhys is gonna be Bad.
