  1. In order for it to be monumental it has to impact for a decent time. Otherwise it is just a great moment that mostly occurred because it was Wrestlemania weekend. Selling out MSG doesn't necessarily mean that much if your house shows and TV taping buildings in other towns are about 30 - 50% empty Again it it is a great story but treating this like Ring of Honor/New Japan is the #2 wrestling promotion and breathing down Vince's neck that a good deal of the New Japan marks have been saying is just delusional. You have way more faith in Delirious than I do
  2. Man episode 14 that focuses on Welfare Queen being humiliated by the supposed babyface Liberty Belle while his son was watching was extremely powerful shit. While it was so amazingly awkward and offensive it actually told a great message about how much a mom is willing do anything for his son to be at Stanford. So far the best episode of both seasons for me Liberty Belle is easily the most hatable "good girl" possible. but it is sort of like Hogan where even though he was a complete ass at times if he puts a lot of bells and whistles behind it to get sympathy.
  3. Again this idea that Ring of Honor is the home of indie wrestling weighing their options is a kind of laughable given how they have booked. Your options in ROH are only as good as your connections to New Japan and the Young Bucks are. Unless you are fine being the Johnathan Gresham or Chuck Taylor level where you are on TV having good matches but always a jobber to make other people look good.
  4. I mean coaches treating players like shit under the disguise of "tough love" isn't really new. Hell just look at guys like Mike Leach and Bobby Knight. But what killed both of them was how their tough love became physical being Knight choking a player and Leach putting a player with a concussion in a dark sweatbox The Big 10 needs to get their shit together based on the last couple years.
  5. Okay I thought it was great that Ring of Honor sold out MSG for Wrestlemania weekend. That is a great accomplishment no matter how much the show is more New Japan than Ring of Honor. But fuck in the last week listening to New Japan and Meltzer fanboys talk about how historic this event is really really delusional. People are acting like Vince and the WWE are scared to death and we finally have some real competition in wrestling is amazing. Here is reality: 1. NXT Takeover is running at the same time as the ROH show. That show is going to sell out as well. Hell there is probably another show running at the same time that will get at least 300. 2. If the WWE lost its 4 biggest stars then would struggle for a small period (maybe even a year) but still be in good shape in the long term. If the Bullet Club or the relationship with Ring of Honor goes sour that company is dead in the water. The only non-Bullet Club people over are ones who have been there for over 10 years. And maybe Dalton Castle They can't just be happy with a good story. Instead they have to act like TNAMecca
  6. Okay you can have you great matches all you want but I know a main event when I see one
  7. Yeah I have a feeling that it is going to be Gargano as well which is probably a terrible idea given how good of a face he is. It really does feel like they are trying to do an Eddie Edwards thing only maybe without the goofy psycho stuff that Edwards character currently is
  8. The only thing on the wrestling part that didn't make any sense to me was why were there so many british wrestling posters on the wall for an indie show in Southern California. I highly doubt Big Daddy has a California run in 1985. There might have been one poster that I though had Buddy Rose but even that was Portland. But again not that important. I haven't gotten to season 2 yet so maybe my opinion will change but my favorite secondary characters are Sam's daughter pretending to be the ultimate fan girl to see who his dad really was and Arthie as this kind of shy girl who kind of realizes in the middle of the match how much people hate the Middle East. The scene where they are watching the plane hijacking on TV and how incredibly uncomfortable about it was hiliarious
  9. Everything this team touches dies.
  10. Yeah something tells me he had the same feelings about loyalty when he was with a ton of other women in the wrestling business before AJ. Which makes all of this Punk stuff even more ironic
  11. I don't think he is a jerk to every person. Just people that are 100% loyal to him. very Trump-like if you ask me
  12. Looks nice but I don't see anyway that will make for a great flaming table spot in the home opener ?
  13. Man they really don't have any ideas for Sanity. I would say they are getting that Ascension push but at least Sanity won a pre show match
  14. Guys that superkick alot? Or have the last name Flair? But that's okay because also according to Dave most of the people who watch or like women's wrestling in the US are doing it knowing that it sucks. ?
  15. So either our national nightmare is over and Coach is gone (even temporarily) from RAW or they are trying to reenact the baseball announcers scene in the Naked Gun movies (2 I think) and just have as many as possible
  16. I haven't watched a lot of indie Canada wrestling but did Vanessa Kraven lose a bunch of weight recently. Last time I saw her she was in the Nia Jax build. But that was a while ago.
  17. Mauro might have been a better choice than Cole but there is no way Renee Young would get a word in if that happened. At least Cole knows the value of working all of them together. Mostly because he has no choice.
  18. It is kind of funny that they have been teasing Bayley & Sasha breaking up for about 5 months to an awful death march and Becky & Charlotte might do it at summerslam first after only about 3 weeks of buildup
  19. Yeah definitely one of the better main events on Smackdown for years. But here is one of the true highlights of the show
  20. So what you are looking for is an asshole maskless version of Jervis Cottonbelly ?
  21. The Renee part was definitely the best part of the Heyman "exclusive" because unlike all WWE backstage people they easily play dumb. You can tell that Renee knows what Paul is thinking. After that I kind of wished they waited for this interview next week so they didn't spend a week trying to figure out how to not show it
  22. Watching the Hulkamania 1985 (probably 1986) Coliseum Video and man I would love to see what Muraco did to get so much heat on Hogan for that cage match. I swear it looks like someone threw a whole pineapple or massive sized fruit into the ring. Even Hogan was getting pelted at times. Also loved how the belt was just used as a weapon early with no regard what so ever. Like they were going to replace it anyway.
  23. It is something that her armbar finisher looks incredibly safe and yet everything else she does with the arm looks like she is shoot trying to break it
  24. So we are all just going to act like the new B Team Entrance song didn't happen. What the fuck? ? Was the Spirit Squad suppose to come out and missed their spot
