  1. Vince: Next week for Hispanic Heritage Month we'll do a vignette on Don Muraco! Steph: But Da- Hunter: Not the mountain to die on honey.
  2. Mark my words, they're building Bo up for Ellsworth!
  3. I don't see why someone couldn't turn a profit liquidating production stuff, rings, and merch, then taking taking the library to even the lowest rent streaming service, or TV package it for a foreign market. If I had four million dollars I would get blood from that stone, and I'm no Vincent Kennedy McMahon.
  4. I'm prepping for the 100 greatest movies thread by filling in some blind spots, and I'm starting with individual directors filmographies. I watched a lot of Robert Altman this weekend and maybe all of them may end up bumping other films off of my list. I also watched Night Moves. Some really great performances, but I was disappointed by how disjointed it was. Maybe I'd think more of it if I hadn't just watched The Long Goodbye, which I enjoyed a lot more and explored some of the same themes.
  5. Jordan's got a lot of raw talent, and he's really fortunate to be part of the performance center/NXT generation. Twenty years ago he would have kicked around the Power Plant and Saturday Night for a few years and gotten a job in finance or something. Gable looked like a star as soon as he was on television doing three minute sprint jobs. I think the sky is the limit for both, even if I personally like watching Gable more.
  6. As long as there's still a brand split when Gable goes single he should be okay. He also doesn't have the mileage to really worry about him breaking down right as he breaks out, unless there's an amateur injury in his history.
  7. It's weird, I know Nak/Brock makes sense, but the match that I've wanted to see since he got signed was Nak/Roman. I think they'd beat the ever loving shit out of each other, and Roman thrives in that environment.
  8. I'm sure he's ready and willing. They need to solve their Brock problem ASAP to avoid anyone else having to sacrifice their skull, and he'd probably have another MOTY contender with Roman. But I don't think they should wait much longer for Cena to put over Roman either. They probably think they have time, but windows for money matches have closed abruptly before.
  9. ZSJ is absolutely not my pick for this, but with all of the fresh talent they have right now they need to pick a guy, get his submission finisher over as inescapable death, and have them tap Brock out with it. Joe would be the obvious choice, but I don't know if giving that rub to someone in the back half of their career is wise. My larger point is if they can get grappling and the notion of technicians being dangerous over that goes a long way to assisting suspension of disbelief since they're swarming with smaller guys now.
  10. I read these first and I still wasn't ready.
  11. Hayes and the Hardys had some trios matches against The Brood.
  12. I really had no idea there was any psychology to why he setup the Scorpion with the splash. I'll have to watch for the back selling now during his matches.
  13. People in the business like being informants for the WO though. It makes them feel like hot shit. I'd be surprised if whoever spilled the beans got paid anything.
  14. If I'm not mistaken the superplex setup for the Scorpion is also what nearly killed Flair during their sad spectacle match in TNA.
  15. "She's so hot she's making me racist. Bitch."
  16. He did an AP interview ahead of the Philly Smackdown basically saying that all of the concussion experts he talked to said he was fine. He also said he understood WWE's stance, but he sounded a little miffed that they tease stuff with him like doing polls on the website about who he should face if he came back.
  17. That has to be from Kowalski's promotion, so pre-WCW. I'm not an expert, but Hunter seemed to get really lean and then go crazy maintenance bulking, so his physique changed a lot (PEDs notwithstanding.)
  18. PLAUSIBLE DESIRABILITY guys In a sentence: "Gee, that John Krasinski does nothing for me, but he has plausible desirability."
  19. Does anyone else remember Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County? It was a found footage short (I believe predating Blair Witch) that was shown on UPN back-to-back with a pseudo-documentary call Real Vampires: Exposed! in 1998. It showed a family being abducted from their rural home during a video recording of Thanksgiving dinner. There were no disclaimers that it was fabricated, and the UFO experts appearing in interviews in it didn't not know they were taking part in a mockumentary. As a kid who lived in a wooded area with no context for what I was watching, I was dismayed. It apparently generated some War of the Worlds-type controversy at the time, but I almost hesitate to watch it now since it's probably awful and obviously fabricated.
  20. Oh, I forgot about Dana Berenato. If Askua sticks around long enough she should drop it to The Jersey Devil.
  21. Shiping sounds like the dangerous new trend you may not know your teenager is trying (more at 11:00.)
  22. I don't think it would be in Askua's character to let go of a championship. They've also set a precedent of NXT champions keeping the belt while on the main roster. I'd say just have her become so uncontrollable and vicious that Regal is forced to strip her of the title and ban her from NXT. Then one of the authority figures picks her up for their brand without considering the reign of terror that will ensue and repeat her NXT booking up until now until you have the right person take that belt from her.
