  1. My friend and I got gamencenter and paid only $99.99 (continuing member fee? I really don't know why it was that much). Then we found out that Rogers has bought out the service in Canada and is charging a bunch more, I think closer to what Tabe paid. But, because we signed with unblock-us on and made it look like we're in the States, I cannot log into the Canadian apps and have to jump through a bunch of hoops to watch games. Kind of a pain in the ass but it's a good service overall. The only thing I get annoyed with is on computers it doesn't ever go full screen completely and leaves a bunch of black space around the picture to make room for the controls at the bottom. It's 2014, mother fuckers! That stuff is supposed to pop up when you move the mouse! In summation, first world problems. Tabe, which device are you watching because it doesn't take nearly that long for games to be watchable after they're done on the pc ("the pc" did I just pull a Bret Hart a la "the WCW"?). Haven't tried with PS4 yet, which I'm guessing is your device. Edit: just checked on PS4 and yeah, certainly takes longer. Apple devices are pretty much instant just like the pc.
  2. The face of evil: And the sequel: Poor pitch from Rosenthal but that has to be a block, not a pick.
  3. I went off on the Spurs with KD in the first half and had a 15 point lead by the middle of the second quarter. Then they got back to doing Spurs things, KD went cold after they doubled him up, and they won by one with sweet big man passing in the 2nd half kicking my ass. I've only played three games at a friend's but I think I'll get it myself on Steam with birthday moneys. Three point shooters have new animations of getting into position including a stepback gather on receiving passes that looks badass. Also, a tonne of new collision animations are neat lookin', particularly the ones in the air on dunk/layup attempts. I'm really impressed.
  4. That's the case with all NBA 2K games. Right now I'm using these sliders to decent effect having both games I played (GSW/LAC and OKC/SAS) come down to last second shots. The sliders fix some of the default issues such as offensive boards but create a batch of new problems, so for now I recommend just using that guy's offensive board numbers (55 human, 42 CPU) on the default sim sliders. Still a really fun game even though the servers are dreadful. With the new offensive sets and playing the Spurs, there are some moments when you just can't do a damn thing but laugh at how good they are. Just like in real life.
  5. The only things being rocked like a hurricane right now are dem brainz, y'all.
  6. I haven't been a fan of most of Benning's moves but that was astute and if the Canucks are to do something this season, it will largely be based off of that and the Desjardins hiring. I was watching baseball and not giving the game a tonne of attention but from the 2nd onward the Canucks looked fantastic. Burrows got away with a brutal hand pass non-call that leads to a goal and he even got an assist. Classic Burrows! Everybody knows that Sbisa was a bad idea from the get go. He doesn't offset his bad defensive play with enough physicality or offense. We've kind of been spoiled in the past with depth D, Mike Weaver being my favourite, but this year we are thin. Fuck yeah, Sharks, btw.
  7. Holy shitballs, you're a mod?! What have we done to deserve this? j/k, congrats, dawg!
  8. Incredible off the puck movement by the nucks. These kind of performances kind of make John Tortorella look bad.
  9. Even though we suck and Ryan Miller is the worst shitbum, at least the Canucks are fun to watch again and the Sedins are back to being the Sedins.
  10. NBA 2K15 is ridiculous. They did a superb job with offensive motion.
  11. Yeah, dude, for whatever reason (maybe the jump in graphics) more recent games are all requiring 35-50+ gigs of space. I'm having to install games off of my SSD unless I wanted to have maybe one or two installed at a time.
  12. Screenshot in question: And the screenshot of the board's good friend, CP Munk (spoilered due to size):
  13. I'm not even sure I can run this bad boy but it *looks* cool anyway. It would be a good idea to give it a shot though it would be a bad idea if it didn't work out. I can only play for like 30 minutes before I get worn out by the intensity and nothing has even happened yet! Publilius Syrus Steven Seagal had it right, "the anticipation of death is worse than death itself."
  14. Alien Isolation scares the hell out of me! I've got the tightest of clenched cheeks playing it, the atmosphere is incredible.
  15. No, they want another 20 of your hard earned dollars, more or less for the season pass and the Hogans. The Sony store doesn't actually say it includes the season pass or Paige but the guy who tweeted about this showed his PS4 screen with the season pass included. It's a good deal but really, the only things you're getting for "free" are the Hogan DLCs as Paige comes with the season pass and the Stings come with the preorder.
  16. I guess we don't need to guess at who Sauron is.
  17. I don't even know if I can sarcastically support the Cards anymore. I mean, I know baseball attracts a more conservative breed but gotdayum. I think the best/worst one was when the lady yells that they gave "y'all your freedoms." Piranesi, please tell me they were Dodgers fans in disguise giving you Cardinal fans a bad reputation.
  18. I stopped watching puroresu religiously around early '06 but Akiyama was always carrying Hashi and the like to good-to-great tag matches and singles in the first half of the noughties. To say he couldn't make inferior workers better sounds like somebody watched his big AJPW matches and the GHC matches and nothing else. I'd also disagree that he was always having to be carried in the big AJPW tag matches from what I've seen. I think he wrestled a far more sustainable style than Kobashi and at times was a smarter wrestler than Kobashi. I'm not sure if he's hall of fame worthy or not and I'm not likely to be the best to ask because he was my second favourite wrestler after I started watching Japanese wrestling, so I'm going to be more biased than most, but I think some of the above comments are bit too harsh.
  19. There isn't a tonne of continuity in 4 other than the current day stuff, which you can still get by without having played the previous games.
  20. What Tabe said. I put so much time into AC4 and had a blast with it. A great, great game. Between that and NBA, I recommend giving the FIFA and PES demos a shot. Rogue Legacy is a sidescroller with retro graphics but it's an incredible game that you may want to try out if you haven't already. Don't Starve is rad but better played on PC. Watch Dogs was okay but reminded me a great deal of the first Assassin's Creed in that it showed potential but was marred by poor design flaws that could be easily fixed for the inevitable sequel. If you have buds that come over, Towerfall Ascension is a great way to spend 30 or 60 minutes. It's only local multiplayer though, so be warned. Are you going to take the leap into Destiny despite your aversion to FPS shooters? In summation, find Black Flag on the cheap and pick up the new NBA. You should be set for a while. In reality, you haven't missed much in the console's first year and now is a good time to pick one up with the upcoming release of a bunch of interesting games. Oh, and when you do get it, let us know your PSN name!
  21. Yeah, the key is to kill the boss before the enrage portion of the battle.
  22. The announcer said it was Lambert but that Henderson back heel flick was delish. Not a good performance but hopefully it's something to build off of.
  23. We were going about it wrong. I did some research and you need the relic carrier to be ultra aggressive in taking down harpies. This charges his/her super charge and allows for maybe a 5 second delay between the shield going back up and his/her taking it back down. This rapid shield takedown also means fewer and fewer oracles to worry about. This video does a nice job showing how vital the relic carrier is and how aggressive they need to be. The person who did the guide said he doesn't recommend blocking the teleport because it's really dangerous and spawns a minotaur. Here's his detailed guide with pretty pictures and videos. So, you have 7 minutes before the enrage warning and then a minute later it all goes to hell. If/when we do that again, I recommend our best player with the best gear takes the relic and goes around taking down harpies/oracles and the shield while everybody else focuses on the boss or any loose oracles that pop up.
