  1. I'm just starting to watch, so its all I got to talk about. Rollie Fingers? Really Brewers fans? Yeah he won the Cy/MVP for some weird reason that one year, but is he really one of your best ever? Whither Prince Fielder? And Christy Mathewson not making the Giants list is some straight up bullshit. Get out of here Buster Posey.
  2. I don't think Zobrist making it was that strange. Best overall player on that team for several years. League leader in WAR once, second another time. Basically Mr. Everything for them for a 6 year period. I know what you mean that they had nobody else, since they were trash for their first 10 years or so, but even so Zobrist is a fine selection.
  3. Pretty awesome that all the Nationals Franchise 4 were Expos. Zimmerman's been good, but you can't put him over Dawson, Vladi, Carter or Raines. A few more seasons and Harper will have to squeeze on there soon. Hopefully this just adds to the push to get Rock in the Hall.
  4. Deer are a fucking nuisance around here. Always bounding out of nowhere. When I was a teenager, a buddy of mine decapitated one when he hit it with his Firebird (remember teenagers). No major damage to the car, but the earliest appointment he could get with Manitoba Public Insurance for inspection was 3 or 4 days after the fact. He was told not to wash his car before the appointment, so he had to drive around for half a week with deer blood and bile smeared all over the front.
  5. You joke, but it's actually true. When the Manitoba Moose were moved to St. John's, Newfoundland when the Jets came back, they picked a new nickname for the team because of all the fatalities caused by cars hitting moose in the Maritimes. And Steven Fletcher, Winnipeg politician and member of the Canadian House of Commons, became a quadriplegic in his youth from hitting a moose in northern Manitoba. Moose are majestic and all that shit, but they will fuck your shit up if you hit them. It's a very Canadian problem.
  6. Is Joker even in the Squad? He's never in any of the group shots, maybe he's around to make trouble and try to get Harley back.
  7. WALLY WEST!!!!!!! (although I honestly think Barry plays more like Wally anyway...)
  8. Fuck them, anyone who can't get into Johnny LaRue should be no friend of yours.
  9. I was 11 or 12 when Angels came out, so I think I just saw it at the right time. I was 14 when Little Big League came out and man do I hate me some Little Big League.
  10. Stories like the brawl at the beginning would have been cool to hear during his career, I probably care more about Sheldon Souray now than during his entire career. Unfortunately, the hockey establishment seems to insist that all players become faceless drones whose only personality trait is "humble".
  11. Whoa now, let's not say anything we can't take back about Angels in the Outfield. Sure, it's no Little Giants, but still....
  12. Matty's the best. It's too bad his style of play ended his career too soon. Definitely my favourite Bomber ever.
  13. It would likely be pretty great, though.
  14. So Stabler isn't in because he liked to booze it up, but Peter King wants to make damn sure voters don't take Darren Sharper's multi-rapes into account when evaluating his case. Fucking sportswriters man....
  15. This is a wrestling message board, pretty sure no one here needs to google her.
  16. Been blowing through Sleepy Hollow the last couple weeks (about halfway through season 2) and have been really enjoying it. The 2nd season isn't as good as the first, but it isn't the drop off that I'd been led to believe. They've kind of ruined a bit of the mystique of the Headless Horseman, but I guess there's only so much you can do with a silent, ghostly villain before it becomes repetitive. The Horseman of War has been a great big bad this year, though. Nice balance between monster of the week/mythology and seriousness/comedy. Great chemistry between the leads (to the point that you kind of hope Crane's wife disappears and he ends up with Mills) and really good effects for a network show. It may be done to death, but I am a sucker for man out of time stories. Crane's continued befuddlement by modern culture is always good for a laugh. While I was never able to get into Buffy (season 2 was really good, though), I suspect that I'm enjoying Sleepy Hollow in the same way fans enjoyed that show.
  17. At the risk of incurring the wrath of The Natural, I think Shia LaBeouf is solid as hell. I liked Lawless a lot and he had to carry most of it.
  18. Dan Marino. Have no ill will towards the Dolphins, but that dude always annoyed the shit out of me. How he and Johnson went out is one of my favourite non-Packers football memories. Always hated Elway too, but that became a rational hate after Super Bowl 32.
  19. Now that's a man that loves America.
  20. That's when Quarless took out a semi-automatic handgun — ID'd by police as a .45 caliber weapon — and fired two shots, one straight up into the sky. Why? When police later interviewed a woman in Quarless' car, she said he'd fired "in an attempt to emphasize his dominance and manhood." LOL, he can be cut now.
  21. (I'm currently one episode behind what has aired) I'm enjoying it, but it has been up and down. Donna's been the MVP of this season, mostly because Joe hasn't been given much to do and Cameron has spent most of the season having emotional breakdowns. But, really, Donna is great. Cameron casually inventing the modern gaming industry has been a little weird. Gordon continues to be Gordon, so unlikable, but in kind of a perfect way. He's super into smoothies right now, which kind of tells you everything about his character. I do find my enjoyment of the show varies greatly episode to episode, but I thought the same way last season too. Last year played a lot better when I watched it again in a binge and I think that will be the case again with this season.
  22. I'm wondering who the fuck Eric O'Dell is?
  23. Very happy with that, 2 years is perfect. Him and Myers were great when they came over.
  24. Recchi will make it for sure. The other two should probably be in as well, but for whatever reason people discount Andreychuk's 600 goals because they were scored from 2 feet away and Turgeon had the rep when paying of being a flake and soft, which is probably holding him back. Turgeon is one of those guys that sneak up on you, you look at his stats and realize that he was productive pretty much until 2001. He did miss a lot of games though.
  25. I love Housley and am happy he made it, but isn't he like the most extreme example of all O, no D defenseman (although I don't think he ever had a season where he led defensemen in points)? Still, good for him, he was one of the main reasons those early 90s Jets were so fun to watch.
