  1. Surprise! You can be both. The Rock is the first black WWF champ and also Samoan. Go figure. Anyway back when we did the DVDVR Race Draft I claimed Batista for the Asian delegation along with Zack Morris. It counts.
  2. Warrior was pure charisma and kinetic energy. Apollo Crews is a muscle guy who can do a backflip.
  3. His gimmick is actually DX cosplayer, with the Shawn Michaels bit but also the Fame-Asser (and X-Factor at one point?) as some of his moves.
  4. Michigan and their wrestling politicians man.
  5. Paige is 23. 75% of 23-year-olds make bad relationship decisions and act like hot messes about it on social media. The difference is Paige is acting like a normal 23-year-old while also working for a publicly traded corporation with fucked up politics and reactions to work place relationships.
  6. They ought to update the Vaudevillains from throwbacks of old timey 1920s wrestlers to craft beer drinking, fixed gear bike riding hipster trash. I feel like that might have more long term potential for advancement. They don't even have to change their looks or music, just play up how insufferable they are.
  7. It's why I qualified "in 2016" I feel a lot of people also sleep on American Starship era Scott Hall.
  8. Best wrestling mustache of 2016. Eat it Joey Ryan.
  9. Goldberg, Lesnar, and Vader were all also guys who got injured/cut from NFL teams. To even be drafted to a team means you're a phenomenal athlete. But yeah Brenan Williams got picked up by Jacksonville, cut, picked up by the Patriots and then waived. But the appeal of Williams to most people isn't his NFL career, it's his deep ties to internet and nerd culture.
  10. AKA The Shogun of the Row AKA The Great Black Otaku AKA The master of the Niko Niko Knee. Brennan Williams has a huge YouTube following for his Let's Plays and Anime Reviews and his association with Best Friends Play. He appeals to the nerd subculture of wrestling fans in the same way Xavier Woods does. He's a hilarious guy on the mic and is also 6'7" and an ex-NFL player. The sky is the limit for this dude.
  11. I want the Matt interview to be in character. Plz Jericho plz.
  12. Nakamura came off as super likable in that interview. He sounds like a really smart guy who's got his head on straight. I wanted to hear more stories of him sharing an apartment with Daniel Bryan and Lyoto Machida.
  13. The Suicide Dive is today what the Russian Leg Sweep was in the 90s. A big move that everyone did until it stopped meaning anything.
  14. SeƱor Benjamin's cybernetic head in a jar on a pole match!
  15. Prince Devitt in 2008-2009 was one of the wrestlers that got me watching New Japan along with Tanahashi and Nakamura. Finn has definitely got the "it" factor that Sami just doesn't have. Finn oozes cool guy charisma. Not to say that Sami isn't charismatic, but Sami has dorky little brother charisma. You're rooting for Sami and you want him to win but you don't want to BE Sami.
  16. Cena, Orton, AJ, Ambrose, Wyatt are all credible main event guys that could headline PPVs. You could even bring Miz back up to main event level if you had to.
  17. It's a great example of how 50/50 booking will ruin the perception of a guy and how much wins actually matter. Dolph it's more 30/70 and as a result no one sees him as a credible threat to Ambrose. If he were to win the title instead of elevating him it would lower the status of the WWE title to that of the pre-unification World title. And I don't think anyone expects him to win at Summerslam which is why I'm worried they'll do it anyway.
  18. Modern WWE needs more super finishers like the burning hammer. Shit you don't see every match but when someone pulls it out you know its instant death.
  19. If you listen to Ambrose on Cabana's podcast from a few years ago he goes on a rant about how much he hates the fighting spirit pop up superkick stuff, and how people should just sell. Funny in hindsight.
  20. I think he does the Indy guy "butt in the air" sell instead.
  21. Lou Thez Press vs Superkick La Magistral vs Superkick Fisherman suplex vs Superkick
  22. Speaking of Rhyno, that Heath Slater promo was pretty good. I wouldn't mind them building him up as a dangerous outsider who runs in on both shows and costs people their matches until he gets signed/gets an IC or US shot. Or you could feed him to Rhyno. That's cool too.
  23. I did prefer heel Ski Movie Villain Dolph to the current thought experiment of "What if Shawn Michaels had zero charisma" Dolph
  24. I just realized when Finn isn't cosplaying Carnage as The Demon he's cosplaying 1998 Alex Wright with the leather jacket/trunks look
