  1. Do you think they do that with the posters from old shows in the hallway of the corporate hq? Or do they take down the posters with Punk, Bryan, Big Show, etc on them and drop them down the memory hole?
  2. He's the cerebral assassin, he is using his intellect to pick apart his opponents. Which doesn't explain why he has no idea how to swing a hammer.
  3. I did not know Kevin Kelly used to do commentary for WWE. Huh. I have never watched any Shotgun Saturday Night either. This is billed as Texas vs Tennessee. It's a lot of fun and super short. Crowd loves Terry. The Funk-Lawlor exchanges are great, I'm thankful this is 1998 and we don't get a "you still got it" chant. Everyone is on their game here and it's laid out to give everyone something to do. This goes the distance and they make it feel earned. A very exhausting but well paced match for the prestigious Western States Heritage championship. I love Terry Taylor just shitting on some football star/champion at ring side. "Yeah, he needed 21 other guys to help him win it". I could hear JR's heart break into pieces. He gets his groove back hyping Dr Death's upcoming debut. I think I've really only seen Windham as a heel so it was interesting to see him as a face. I just watched Mid South for the first time last year during the pandemic with someone suggesting it through Secret Santo, I like the sports like feel to it. Thanks for the picks!
  4. Wow, he damn near ganso bombed him. That was nuts!
  5. Nomura-Nakanoue and Parker-Tsukamoto from the 7/23 Big Japan show are both excellent. Abe challenging for the Strong title next is super intriguing. It appears Miyamoto and Ito are the next two death match title challengers.
  6. I've only really followed Japanese wrestling this year so anything not from there will work. @Zimbra, I'll post a review of the last match you gave me by tonight. Here's a fun match from NOAH, Kenoh wrestling a mma fighter.
  7. Impact, ROH, and MLW stand to benefit. They all seem viable options.
  8. Just watched it at a friend's, it is hilariously violent. Total opposite from the first movie. Probably the best DC movie so far. There is a post credits scene.
  9. N1 blocks were announced. Spoiler tag for the size.
  10. I read if you didn't already have a Visa then you can't get one right now. So I doubt we see anyone from the US added.
  11. Great-O-Khan and Aaron Henare are distinct possibilities. We know Chase Owens is rumored. Yeesh. It'll benefit the first two to get some singles matches in. Owens is there to eat pins. Ospreay won't be back so there's another opening. If Hiromu beats Eagles I could see him enter the G1 tournament but that seems a lot after a lengthy recovery.
  12. I'm thinking they would have the United Empire win it once they are all back in the country. Build up a feud during the G1.
  13. I think they will lose them after the G1 at this point. I say let them hold them until you can make a big deal about a title change.
  14. Ricky can hit the Canadian Destroyer pretty good. We need a new flippy move for old guys to use and elicit "you still got it" chants.
  15. If Flair is wrestling anywhere it needs to be either Zona 23 or DDT.
  16. @Zimbra, sorry to hear your wife is also recovering from surgery. I look forward to the match you sent me, I have seen so little of both WCW and WWE's c shows.
  17. The worst part is Sting still won't see this coming.
  18. Was he? I saw mixed reports. I don't doubt you, just never saw it confirmed by anyone reputable.
  19. It's not too surprising that NXT isn't working. There is no set call up plans, they mix international and indie wrestlers with performance center trainees, and it tried to compete with AEW so they couldn't focus on developing talent. Is it meant to be OVW/FCW or is it a third brand? They seem to be wanting it to become a developmental brand now. If there is such a disparity in goals then perhaps it is best to jettison the talent hired under HHH's original vision and quit with the round peg/square hole drama this current set up has caused.
  20. Some classic Muto/Muta BS vs Kiyomiya. Guy is a drain on NOAH if he doesn't eventually put Kiyomiya over big. At least that youngster Ogawa got to stand up to him today. I just have no faith in Muto to do the right thing here and until I see it, it just feels like a waste. That aside, Marufuji-Sakuraba was fun and worth checking out. The strike exchange segment was fun due to Sakuraba's charisma. The Jr tag title match was good and Hayata vs Yo-Hey was ok. N1 should end with Kaito pinning Muto but Kenoh and Nakajima feel in the mix.
  21. I'm a little concerned that we're headed to a repeat of that weird period from April 2020 where there were no fans again. That was rough. I was thinking during the NJPW today, didn't Tokyo just post a record number of new cases in a day?
  22. I feel like Inamura was meant to win this. I could have seen him beating the winner of Sugiura-Tanaka for the Zero-1 title. Oh well.
  23. Show today was worth watching if you have enjoyed NJPW this year. The send off matches were what you'd expect. Tsuji-Naito was slightly better overall but I liked the finish to Uemura-Okada better. Uemura just not quite there yet, so close. Did it ever get confirmed exactly where they are going on excursion? I've heard both are going to Mexico but I don't follow lucha so I have no clue what the state of the scene is. I presume it'd be CMLL then. The two six man tags after are skippable. The LIJ-Bullet Club match did not convince me EVIL is a credible challenger. The main event for the NEVER Openweight six man tag titles was excellent and if you watch nothing else from this show you should seek it out. It's long and if you hate the long NJPW main events then stay away. I thought they told a good story. LIJ issue a challenge afterwards. These belts have been elevated by the CHAOS run with them.
