  1. Marufuji-Sugiura is long but must see. The six man tag and Jr tag titles were fun as well.
  2. I really liked this one. I thought this was one of Marvel's better offerings actually. I have read a few graphic novels over the years so I had no background for who did what in the comics. This felt a little darker than previous films and had less forced humor which have always been my main complaints with the series. The group I watched it with all thought this was one of their best movies.
  3. @Zimbra I think you will enjoy this four way match from ROH 2005. Samoa Joe vs Jack Evans vs Kikutaro vs Delirious. Joe has no time for any of the shenanigans of the other three. I think he was working hurt from a Low Ki double stomp to the ribs so he instead flexed his comedy chops as a straight man.
  4. https://sp.njpw.jp/303290 It would appear the event is still on despite the state of emergency.
  5. Brock's price just doubled. If only they had a large roster of talent to draw from... oh well.
  6. The best near fall all year was Ciampa kicking out of I believe a lariat vs Walter. Walter didn't look around aghast. He looked a little frustrated, clutched his injured hand and went back to it. The 1, 2, kick out O face is the laugh track of wrestling. If you have to tell me it's funny, it's probably not. Especially when it's after a move that person has never won with. "How did he kick out of the move I've never won with at any point in time!?"
  7. I'd love if they could bring Tom Lawlor or Chris Dickinson over for the final spot. I'd guess someone from NJPW Strong. Honestly, drop Yoshi-Hashi as well. Last year was probably his best run and I thought he was better in WTL. Throw in sometime else who can eat mostly losses. I know they won't but I'd rather see El Desperado or someone who is a fresh match up.
  8. I can't either. I never watched during the Monday Night Wars nor am I a fan of 'The Elite'. It doesn't connect with me. I just moved on. It just wasn't for me. Plenty of other promotions out there.
  9. All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Black Menso~re and Shuji Ishikawa have tested positive for COVID-19. https://journalismstudentblogging.wordpress.com/2021/07/07/notes-news-and-updates-from-ajpw-dg-jto-ddt-njpw-bjw/
  10. Ask and you shall receive. The highlights at least.
  11. The link I was given doesn't work anymore unfortunately. I don't blame him for saying it, BJW's biggest show of the year, Ryogokutan, the venue doesn't allow glass and is still good. He didn't back it up in the ring with his two title matches, especially while Toru Sugiura was on such a great run in Freedoms.
  12. Dory seemed able enough in his promo before the recent Triple Crown match, old and crazy!
  13. Same here again, though I don't remember how old he exactly was. My family on that side never got over it. That sucks to hear about Terry Funk. I wouldn't wish such a fate on anyone.
  14. Same here except my uncle drove drunk and killed himself in a crash. Life wasted. There's no excuse to be driving drunk. Jimmy needs to get some help or get off the roads.
  15. This is from 2019, Orange Cassidy vs Homicide. I'm not familiar with this promotion, it appears non existent since the pandemic hit. It plays out about how you would imagine what feels like a house show match between these two would go. Cassidy is the better wrestler here, Homicide has not really impressed me in ring the last few years. He was my favorite wrestler in the 00's. Homicide turns it into a brawl to regain control. Back in the ring it is back and forth until Homicide hits a big lariat for the win. This was fun, Homicide still has it personality wise in ring. It reminded me of his feud with Cabana, where the antics set him off. Thank you for the pick Morganti.
  16. Yet people got riled up when Tsukamoto said light tubes are overplayed. DM scene is so top heavily age wise and the need to imitate every crazy spot someone else does until it means nothing.
  17. I just watched Utami Hayashishita vs Syuri. Not sure where to place it on my MOTY list but it'll be on there. Have to re-watch everything at the end of the year.
  18. @Morganti, this is a little over 21 minutes long so I can pick something shorter if you'd prefer. Yuji Okabayashi vs Takuya Nomura from BJW for the BJW Strong championship. Present vs Future. If you have seen it or it is too long, just let me know!
  19. I didn't like that match. I think it was a victim of overhype for me. Dustin bleeds a ton but it didn't click for me.
  20. It is fantastic. They did the little things right. I say this as someone who isn't a big fan of NXT and it's current offerings. Anyone who hasn't seen it, check it out.
  21. I'm into crazy, stiff brawls. I haven't seen a lot of FMW, ECW, WWC or UWFi. I have IWTV again recently so anything from there you recommend is appreciated. I also would prefer a shorter match if possible.
  22. Match of the year for me currently is either Jeff Cobb vs Shingo or Walter vs Ciampa. America seems to have reopened but the rest of the world still has to deal with covid restrictions, curious how the rest of 2021 plays out.
  23. BJW has done this to themselves, as you said. I honestly expected Ito to win because of how terrible their booking is. I'll at least give him this one. They have a long road ahead. The best death match last year was two young guys killing each other and Kobayashi in their empty dojo. Yet Sakuda went freelance and Ishikawa isn't given opportunities. If Drew loses to Tsukamoto then they are really in for it.
  24. I thought teaming him with Suwama was a good idea that could fall by the wayside now that Suwama is out with covid. I wouldn't expect him to return the moment he is cleared.
