  1. Should there even be a place in wrestling for the "smaller" guys? From what I've read, those kind of people lack credibility and only serve to tank the ratings when they're on TV, so maybe the business should just do away with anyone below a certain height and/or weight.
  2. So once that group is no longer physically able to work matches(or, in the cases of Rock and Brock, just don't feel like doing it any more)...then what?
  3. If only the Punk fans would just admit they're wrong. About everything. Ever. In their entire lives. That seems reasonable enough.
  4. Yeah, seriously, what's up with these people ENJOYING wrestling? Marks.
  5. Miss the guy's presence on no-longer-NWA Anarchy these days...at least Jeff G. Bailey is still around.
  6. Busy indy weekend around the St. Louis area... St. Louis Anarchy is in Alton, IL tonight with a loaded lineup including Davey Richards, Arik Cannon, A.C.H., and Jonathan Gresham among others. SICW has a legends' meet-and-greet at GCS Stadium in Sauget, IL tonight with Jerry Lawler, Baron Von Raschke, Harley Race, Rocky Johnson, and Ken Patera. All the legends(except Lawler) will be in attendance for the wrestling show at the stadium tomorrow night. On top of that, MMWA has a wrestling show in St. Louis tomorrow night at the South Broadway Athletic Club. My plans: SLA tonight, SICW tomorrow night. Not really the autograph-seeking type.
  7. The Bo Dallas stuff is surreal. His promos are clearly those of a self-absorbed heel character. Despite that, he's booked as a face, feuds with heels, and the commentators seem to treat him like a face in all respects.
  8. In all fairness, there was "JBL is poopy". Also(re: Bellas): You hated something a heel did? WORKED. MARK. -PB
  9. I've known you for years and you've seemed to stop enjoying wrestling a long, long time ago. I haven't seen you say anything positive about it since we met. There's plenty I enjoy. I'm just particularly cautious since, as someone else said in this thread or another one, I've seen plenty of good angles/pushes go south.
  10. I could have said he would be out for 72 hours to continue the Jesus joke...but then I thought: "Did Jesue have hustle, loyalty, and respect? No, he did not."
  11. "John Cena suffered death. He is not expected to miss any ring time." (I think I'm kidding.)
  12. If a fan wants to watch wrestling, there are a LOT of options nowadays. Gone are the times when you were limited to the wrestling shows on basic cable or whatever you could get via tape-trading. There's something for just about every type of fan nowadays if you know where to look. There were times in the past when it was WWF/E or the highway, but no longer. I definitely qualify as an indy junkie and I'm fortunate to live in an area where there are about a half-dozen groups running within an hour's drive of me, so there are shows practically every weekend. I'd rather go to those than most of the stuff under bigger banners; I haven't been to a WWE show in St. Louis in several years(meaning I passed on stuff like the Rumble and Raw 1000).
  13. Did anyone watch TNA 10 Reunion or does everyone just have DirecTV?
  14. Re: Cena I would consider myself more of a "Batman guy" than a "Superman guy", if that explains things. The appeal of Batman is seeing how he uses his head to figure out a way to win. Most of the time, Superman wins because...he's Superman. Maybe Cena's a legitimately good guy; that's fine. He's not there for fans like me; he's there for the kids to be an "infallible" hero. I haven't been in the "target audience" for a very long time.
  15. He probably isn't a shit person but he probably isn't the do-no-wrong angel they constantly make him out to be either. No one's that "good" of a person.
  16. Sadly it will just be a chance for Cena to do the noble thing and not grab the pin.I remember the Bret Hart vs. 1-2-3 Kid match where Bret got a pin with Kid's foot on the bottom rope, but Bret pointed it out to the ref and they restarted the bout. It wasn't forced; Bret just came off as a decent guy who would do that sort of thing.Everything with Cena seems so forced, even if he is a genuinely good guy. It almost feels like they're trying to guilt-trip the fans who don't like him. "Look at these Make-A-Wish videos! He likes children! You don't hate children, do you?" (tm South Park)You're projecting. So should I be apologizing for liking what I like in wrestling? It sure seems that way. No, but the CENA ISN'T ACTUALLY A GOOD GUY HE JUST DOES GOOD THINGS AND NO-ONE REALLY HAS A BAD WORD TO SAY ABOUT HIM BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL SCARED stuff is just nonsense. I am personally sick of the guy. I accept that THE KIDZ like him and that he MOVES TEH MERCH. I am always told "if not him, then who else?" when there are a few different options that WOULD work if WWE would build them up the right way. I do not care about what's GOOD FOR TEH BIZNISS. I care about what *I* want to see. He's been the same character with the same match formula for a decade. I'm not even someone who thinks "he can't wrestle" because anyone with half a brain can see otherwise. WWE seems unwilling to even try anyone else in the top spot, so we got him closing out PPVs while Punk had the longest transitional reign in wrestling history. Do I even have a point? Probably not and I'm just venting.
  17. Well, I never liked that Johnny Vinyl loser, so...so... Your apology is on the way? I'm gonna say "no".
  18. They're just killing time until Aurora Rose turns 21 and can begin her dominance of the divas' division.
  19. If he could add some brain mass and learn how to compose sentences properly, he could be a grammatical star some day.
  20. Didn't Vince think she was fat or something?
  21. I don't know; Punk just doesn't have the "it factor" and "believability" to critique grammar.
